First world problems.

I bet Millers cap number next year is less than 17 million and you get to pick a player in the second round still. With these high priced guys you need guys on rookie deals who can play.
-
You can borrow from future years cap to add cap this year, that is what is happening. If you do it somewhat responsibly and the cap goes up (the NFL grows) then you can get away with it. If you are a drunken sailer it will catch up with you in a bad way eventually. Teams go through "resets", etc from time to time, the Bills did that in Allen's rookie year. Fans and sometimes GM's play the role of spoiled brats who demand their parents go into lots of debt to have all the toys they want today. This all reduces what is possible in future offseasons.

Breaking: Von Miller to bills, 6 year , 120 million
Matt_In_NH replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
What does that mean? -
If he can become anything close to what he was supposed to be.......

So...where does this money come from for Von???
Matt_In_NH replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
We still don't know what Saffold got, we also know the first three years are 53 million so that is about 18 million per. Some restructures are coming and probably Beasley is an ex Bill. I love the player, the money though............. -

He ain’t getting all that money. But this is pretty cool -
Cole Beasley given permission to seek trade
Matt_In_NH replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
If they keep Beasley I would think you add via draft. We don’t need another Sanders to take play time from Davis. Develop a guy on a roomie contract. Vets become available in the event of an injury. -
Gross, how could you?

We all know what the Bills still lack of

The OL struggled last year at times but down the stretch the five they had were playing quite well in both pass pro and run blocking down the stretch. What changes do you want to see from the starting 5? Interior backups will look different but I am good with Dawkins, Bates, Morse, Williams, Brown as starters. I think they still have to tender Bates. Morse and Williams have decent cap numbers you could move on from but you also create a hole by doing so. Williams stays because he can play tackle in my opinion but I would not find it shocking if they moved on depending on who they want to sign in FA. Bates also has versatility. In short, I think they need to add younger guys to develop inside like they did last year at tackle but OL is not a huge need. -
Ok fine. Can we change his position to “holder”?
-
Beasley or McKenzie or another competent NFL vet and a draft pick to go along with Diggs, Davis and Kumerow.
-
They have had to waive a lot of guys over the years, they have signed some but let more go. The narrative that the salary cap is not real is simply not true. Not saying you are saying this but you cannot just sign everyone you want. The cap is real, you can trade future cap for cap today but that catches up with you. It IS workable but it is also true that there is a day of reckoning at some point. You cannot have everyone you want by magically working numbers forever. The Saints are in a terrible position where all the manipulation they did last year resulted in being in the same boat this year. Pretty sure Payton left partly because they wont be able to have the resources he would want. https://www.nola.com/sports/saints/article_7144f39e-8671-11eb-b0ae-4788896c6439.html

Yeah, pretty much what I said

The bills ran a lot of three wr sets but few 4 wr sets. Davis was #4 and had a hard time getting snaps. With the cap position and other needs it is reasonable to say davis should be opposite Diggs and another sanders type signing is not needed. Don’t get me wrong more talent is better but there are lots of needs and limited resources. Slot is another thing. If you don’t have Beasley or McKenzie the. Something must be done.

Does anyone know why this trade happened? It’s rare for someone of Wilsons caliber to be traded. I know there were rumors last year but what is the problem? Wilson and carol don’t get along?

Bills release A.J. Klein, $5.1m in Cap Savings

I went tot he game the next week in Green Bay and it was atrocious sitting in the stands. Allen had zero time and could not hit the broad side of a barn that day. He was inconsistent that year to say the least and his team was terrible.

While the Steelers were relevant last year, everyone knew they were not going anywhere and noodle arm Ben was done. After a long run with Ben and SB aspirations year in and year out, it is not surprising there was a fall off in attention. Buffalo has experienced this also, the "Greatest comeback" playoff game was not even a sellout and not on local TV. 8000 tickets for 8 games assuming a ticket of $100 is 6.4 million. So paying a QB 50 million to make back 6.4 does not exactly make sense financially. It does make them competitive for a SB, that would be the point. Plus a lot of those tickets were sold but were no shows. And yeah each person might have bought an expensive hot dog and a couple beers too.
