Getting WR in the draft is going to be key....we need guys on rookie deals at positions of high value. The way the WR salaries exploded last year along with the high volumes of talented WR's being output from College makes WR a high value position to draft IMO.

I am sure it has nothing to do with his age of 63 I. A league where 3 guys have coached into their 70s. How many 63 year old have ever been hired. The ways around the cap it take more from future years than has already been spent which for the Bills is a lot. It is not an endless pit of free cap space. Tough decisions will be made this offseason, now is when you will see the effects. IMO they are better off getting the cap in a little better spot to have something spend in a future year. People think the Saints worked some kind of magic potion but the reality is partly how they got out of their jam is by cutting guys they wanted and using void years. 10-15% of their cap in 2024 and 2025 does not exist because it has already been allocated to guys no longer on their team.

I know a lot of people think you can just manipulate manipulate manipulate “like the saints”. I was poking around spotrac checking out void years which the bills have a moderate amount of. Void years essentially take cap from a future year and give it to a guy now. The player will count vs your cap in the void years but the player is not on your team. If anyone is interested check out the saints void contracts for 2024 - 2027. Almost 30 million one year and over 20 another. That is partly how they got out of their jam. They will have less than other teams for a few more years.
