Ball was not tucked though, he was in the process of tucking when the ball came loose. Bolded/underlined below is from the rule, time is part of the rule. https://operations.nfl.com/the-rules/nfl-video-rulebook/completing-a-catch/ COMPLETED OR INTERCEPTED PASS A player who makes a catch may advance the ball. A forward pass is complete (by the offense) or intercepted (by the defense) in the field of play, at the sideline, or in the end zone if a player, who is inbounds: a. secures control of the ball in his hands or arms prior to the ball touching the ground; and b. touches the ground inbounds with both feet or with any part of his body other than his hands; and c. after (a) and (b) have been fulfilled, performs any act common to the game (e.g., tuck the ball away, extend it forward, take an additional step, turn upfield, or avoid or ward off an opponent), or he maintains control of the ball long enough to do so.

Unless/until the Bills decide they need him yes. He is effectively stashed. Dont think there is any value to taking him off IR unless injuries occur.

Which WR prospect will the Bengals screw us out of?

The title of this thread is such a loser mentality. -
Just going to put another opinion out there. The amount of hatred and name calling being directed at McDermott is embarrassing to see our fanbase be a part of. We all are upset at where the team is this year, we all are upset they did not give Josh a chance with 20 seconds and burned a timeout foolishly. However, McDermott is the guy that turned this franchise around, maybe he is not the guy to bring a SB to Buffalo but right now we should be supporting this team the rest of the season. So while you may not like him as the coach of the future but he deserves respect from our fanbase. Nothing he has done good or bad is with bad intentions. And there is no coach alive that will survive the wrath of this fanbase's Monday morning coaching after a loss. Sometimes a decision is made and you get criticized no matter what if the result is not positive. Again, I think he deserves severe criticism for 20 seconds and 13 seconds but I also think there is an obscene amount of piling on happening. Nothing is going to happen between now and the end of the year with McDermott so I think it is fair to judge him in the offseason once we see the final result of this year. It is not over, this team is talented enough to win the last 5 games, we should support them in that effort.

I think you are taking what you heard too literal. Did he also not say something about element of time?

The ruling in the Bills Eagles game was a fumble. The difference is the chargers receiver tucked the ball and moved forward before fumbling. Brown was just completing the tuck when it came out. They are different in my eyes I must have listened to a a different broadcast. A third step is one of the things that would make it a catch that did not happen. He was not saying he has to see a third step or else its not a catch

I agree you have Diggs and Kincaid and need to add to that. A wr is possible in the first. Lots of other holes you have to consider too. Poyer is another cut possibility. -
Floyd has a big void amount for next year that can be spread out if they resign him. Plus he is the better player.
-
I never cheered for them to lose even during the drought.
-
Not sure I agree that we would be better off but I wonder (total speculation on my part here) if Dabol made a play for that job when he was getting hired by the Giants. They had friction but that cold handshake showed there is some serious issues between those two.

Once again the morning clown show talking about how the Bills only need to pass the ball. -
The decision that changed all the momentum

Suggesting a punt there is ludicrous. There is no end to the depths this fan base will go to to criticize every possible decision. -
It’s modified sudden death. It’s fine

You forgot about the option of he missed it but the Bills had a penalty....that was definitely in play there too
-
Nice hot take, the exclamation points are a dead giveaway of a fan-biased hot take. It was an incomplete pass all day. Only if that was the rule it would be true.
-
Just want to point out the season is not over. Not a lot of room left for error, maybe one more loss, maybe but its not over.
-
Was he the one standing in the endzone who tried to sort of punch the ball after watching Hurst run to the goal line? I thought that was Poyer.

I think there is a touch of over analysis going on. Sometimes the opponent has the right call against your call. You cannot cover every single thing the opponent does on every play. At least I dont think you can. Overall, not happy with the defensive performance but they were doing some things...in the 4th quarter they totally left the middle of the field open presnap to let Hurts try to take off, he did and the Bills closed it immediately after the snap. It is chess and sometimes things work against you.

Any OT game, there are so many plays....Cook not catching the ball. Miscommunication, not prioritizing and working the final 20 seconds, penalties.
-
It HAS to be a member of the 90's team, no need to look anywhere else, Kelly for OC, Bruce DC, Reed Wr coach, etc, it cant be stopped
-
They have won 13, 11, 13 the last three years and actually won at least one playoff game in each of those years. I know this season is not going to plan but this statement goes against what McDermott has actually done.
-
We know....this team is beyond moral victories, they are/were expected to be the best team in the NFL. What's the point....the expectations are to win even vs the Eagles. The expectations are to execute and not have miscommunications...the expectations are to catch the ball.

It was a good kick but I am not sure how high it really is in the history of the league...I mean it was meaningful for the Bills playoff chances but just another regular season win to maintain the 1 seed for the Eagles, it was not that big of a spot really. Yes it was a national window in an exciting game but this thread is blowing it out of proportion.
