  1. lol, a tweet from a Sparty fan, posted by an Ohio guy (presumably a Buckeye)... Harbaugh's quirky, but I think a good college coach. I personally don't think he'll leave Ann Arbor, but who knows.
  2. I'd be curious how many of these "contested" passes are the WR's not making plays on the ball, and are not necessarily Allen's fault. It's hard to tell how they decide whether or not the pass was the QB's fault, but in my mind, I haven't seen that many passes that are Allen's fault. Take for instance the Foster play in the sun against the Patriots: how does that count for PFF? It's technically not a drop, because I don't think Foster touched it, but it was also maybe the best deep pass I've seen Allen throw this year. Does it count as "inaccurate" in this rating system?
  3. Happy Birthday! As far as retiring his number: he would probably be the next player whose number I would want the Bills to retire. But that would probably be the last one, for now. Number retirement should be few and far between, and only for the very best. Billy probably makes that cut. While the team has, in my opinion, lowered the bar for Wall of Fame enshrinement, jersey retirement has remained very privileged. I hope it remains that way.
  4. No, not even close. Michigan is a college football state and the Lions are far below Michigan, Michigan State, and the Detroit Red Wings. I admittedly live in West Michigan, not Detroit area, but I have never been impressed with Lions fans.
  5. On the pre-game show (Bills Radio), they were mentioning that Darnold has struggled against zone coverage this season. My thought is that maybe the plan was to just drop into zone and make Darnold try to figure it out, rather than blitz and run man-to-man. It didn't work out great today, although I think the short fields hurt more than anything else.
  6. I'm happy to see Zay's development this season. And, I fully admit that I was one of the people calling for his head after last season. His growth has been fun to watch. But, he has a lot more growth to develop into a serious threat.
  7. When has he killed the Bills?? I'm too lazy to look this up, but we've enjoyed some pretty good success against Tannehill, IMO. The only times I can remember them beating us were 2016, and the first game I believe it was Ajayi that beat us (after we had a 4th Q lead), and the second game Rex beat us (truthfully, I remember DeVante Parker having a good game, but not Stills). Anyhow, just curious what you're definition of "killing" us is.
  8. If I remember correctly, there was an incomplete screen pass, that the Bills "recovered". The defense was pushing pretty hard for that to be a turnover. So, I think that's why he's pointing like that. And I thought the dance was hilarious.
  9. That's how it's kind of struck me as well. In fact, with the other option, I hope that's the case, too. You don't want to see anyone suffer a serious head injury, especially when they were happy to have walked away last year.
  10. So, he's saying if the fans stop cheering, then Brady won't be as motivated to beat us????
  11. Since I've moved out of NY 10 years ago, I've listened to a lot of Bills games through the radio network. I would say the following about Murph/Kelso: Positives: -Murph does a good job of reminding the listener of score, down/distance, etc. That's an underrated quality that a lot of radio play-by-play men don't have. -Murph tends to be fairly descriptive of what is occurring. (RJ, though he's great, often describes a player as being "down there" or something non-descriptive for a radio listener). -Kelso is really good and does a good job explaining what was occurring, or offering advice on what he thinks the team should be doing. I think Kelso has really progressed and got very good in his role. -I also think for the most part Murph/Kelso are fairly realistic on the radio broadcast of where the team is. (I don't listen to Murph's show, so I can't compare how much of a homer he is between the two). -Murph and Kelso seem to have a good chemistry and don't talk over each other. Negatives: -Murph's emotion/energy level can be hard to "agree" with. Scoring a TD when you're down 20, I don't need the yelling/excitement. -I didn't like the "Tre Day" call, or a lot of the nicknames that Murph uses. Overall, listening to other radio broadcasts, I think they're pretty good. Listening to Murph is tough when he's always going to be compared to Van Miller and RJ, but that's a historically difficult job to follow up. (I know the thread wasn't about Kelso, but I think it's better to analyze them as a team).
  12. I think the NFL does want their games to look like the Big 12. I can't say I agree with it.
  13. Thanks as always, Shaw. I appreciated both these guys efforts, also. Taiwan's play was very gutsy. He was trying to do anything to get it out of the end zone (I also didn't know the rules, because I assumed that was a safety). It reminds me of his big first down in the Bucs game last year; where he subbed in late in the game, got the first down, and helped run out the clock for the win. He probably will never be an all-star, but he certainly seems to give his all, and that is appreciated. Teams need both all-stars and Special Team grinders. For some reason, I expect Shady on the field either this week or next. And I'm guessing he will be gutting it out just trying to help the team. He's a competitor, which is something I've really grown to appreciate about him the last 3+ years.
  14. I believe Ducasse has a heartfelt story, too. I don't recall the exact nature of it, but I remember reading something about it in one of the first stories that detailed McDermott's player speeches. I think Ducasse told about his upbringing and there was some sadness... That being said, I wish they were both playing much better football.
  15. I'd be curious how much the production team edits up or down the noise. Listening to the Bills Radio Broadcast, it seems like they sometimes amplify the noise. For instance, the preseason game against Carolina, it seemed like the crowd noise was pretty loud for a preseason game at a 2/3 full stadium. Perhaps NBC was mixing down the noise last night. Got to make sure Chris Collinsworth can talk and talk and talk. I was at that game (2008, I believe). It was rocking. Only time I've ever sat in the lower bowl -- although, the entire section stood almost the entire game. I actually sat down for the fake FG TD Pass, thinking it was "just" a FG attempt. Boy was I wrong.
  16. I was in Boston last summer for a weekend to visit my sister. I wore a Bills shirt around the city and got about 15 "Go Bills" from people I walked by that day. The only heckling I got was from the owner of an Italian restaurant, and even that was good natured and not mean spirited. It left me thinking that there are a lot of closet Bills fans in Boston.
  17. I'll be at this game with some Packers fans. I'm not optimistic about us winning, but I've always wanted to visit Lambeau, and the opportunity came up this time. Out here in the Midwest, I'm around a lot of Packers fans. They are generally classy and for the most part, well informed about their team. That being said, I hope to see a lot of Blue and Red in the stands.
  18. My favorite was the Tampa game, because it was the only game I attended last year. Exciting game, great atmosphere, beautiful weather for late October. My next favorites were the snow game (I really regret not buying some of the $10 tickets that were available), the Miami/Ravens&Bengals game, and of course, the Jags game. Really, the whole week leading up to the playoff game were just a total blast. I'll never forget it.
