I get what you are saying but if we are playing the what if game, what if Levi turns out to be a better than average starting goalie or the first round pick ends up being a solid contributor on the team? Then does it matter? I’m not sure it does anyway. Reinhart was leaving after the year ended anyway. Imagine if he played, got hurt, and we got nothing for him? It is what it is. I am speaking of before the trade. What he does after is out of the Sabres control. Long term or short term deal, there is nothing the Sabres can do about that and there is nothing just like there is nothing they can do about Ristolainen when his contract expires at the end of next season.

Why would Reinhart want to help the Sabres and not the team he is going to? Why would he want to weaken the Florida Panthers if that’s where he ends up long term? Signing anything long term to help the team he is leaving is foolish on his part.

If Edmunds was smart that is what he will at least ask for. I'm a big Edmunds fan but paying a MLB that much money is not the smartest decision a franchise can make, IMO.

My point being is there are many other things people do in their vehicle, while driving, that are much more reckless and go without punishment.

I can agree with a lot of that. i will say this....if a person is caught texting while driving I believe their license should be suspended for at least one year. No questions asked.

Talking on a phone is just a money grab by the government when you think about it. I get why you shouldn’t text. That’s obvious. But a phone up by my ear? Why is that illegal when I can shovel fast food in my mouth, play with the radio stations, women can put makeup on while going to work, etc., without being ticketed and fined?
