I mean, he has hugged and given Josh a talk after getting whooped before so that isn’t always the case. McD and Daboll was the same thing the week before.
-
could be that. I’m really not sure. I’ve seen it happen on quite a few plays in multiple games. It’s like he sees the guy but either doesn’t want the guy or doesn’t think the guy makes the play. Maybe he just doesn’t like the throw from his stance or the throwing lane. I just don’t know. It’s really boggling because he definitely sees the guy.

Yep Josh had a poor game. The entire team also had a poor game. Josh has regressed since Dorsey took over. The rest of the offense is talent light. Josh is thinking too much instead of just playing football. The coaches are in his head. That’s why the processing is slower this year. Too worried about not running. Too worried about turning the ball over. Too worried his guys aren’t going to make the play. Too worried his oline won’t hold.

Better defense with a better plan.
-
I am not a Dorsey fan by any means but some of this blame does lie with Josh. He does not have a good day when he is flustered by pressure and the defense is disguising stuff well or throwing stuff at him that he doesn't expect. This is the one trait that I think Burrow is better at. The dude gets pounded but keeps his cool. Josh just gets flustered. Couple that with the coaches trying to neuter Josh's game and make him into Brady, it isn't a recipe for success. It could be, if Josh learns this part of the game but that may take a while.

BB wasn't the first to do this. Not every defense has the horses to do this. I also find that the Bills figure it out eventually anyways. They just seem to be slow at doing so. It took them like a season to figure out cover zero lol.

First, thank you for taking the time to do this. Can you maybe share your thoughts on why, if Allen was staring down the hot as to why he would just stare him down and not throw it? I can't see the play you are referring to but I am envisioning that he is open if he is the hot and Allen has identified the right throw... so why isn't he throwing it? I have noticed other times that Allen sees the right guy but doesn't make the throw. It baffles me why that is.

If the Bills defense is healthy, they're 6-1 right now
Scott7975 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Probably true, but if they stayed healthy all season would they fall apart in the playoffs again? Our offense should have kicked up a gear because that defense wouldn't have mattered if they played the way they should be playing with an elite qb. -
Bills restructured Dawkins contract, create Cap space
Scott7975 replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
We all know the offense is so complicated that it takes two years to get a guy on the field. We also know the defense is so complicated that McD prefers guys that have been in the system before. The restructure is probably because they need a new water boy. Guy wasn’t cutting it. Our players keep getting dehydrated. That or Levi Wallace. 🤣 -
Well thats too bad. He is trying to get our offense to run like he tries to get his D to dictate other offenses to run. Its old school garbage football. It requires too much precision and mistake free football. We don't have the talent to run that kind of offense and honestly, I am not sure Josh is the right QB to run that kind of offense. He has a cannon for an arm. Square pegs, round holes. Its a lot easier to score TDs if you only need 3-5 first downs than it is if you need 8 first downs. I remember years past where we would be third and long like 15+ long. Even 20+ long. I think to myself.. no problem. Josh got this. Now I barely think that when we are 3rd and 5.

Its some stupid epa per play stat. It's been posted several times in various threads by someone. It vary well could be, I don't know what is going on with this staff. All I know is our offense is dumpster fire right now and I have always said that I will take the good Josh with the bad. I don't care if he throws a stinker here and there when he is scoring 4+ tds a game. This offense aint it. Whether that is Dorsey or McD... they need to move past it and let Josh be Josh.
-
I can tell you that at least this week that is the case. The Bills were in 2nd and 5 or less 6 times against the Pats. Cook ran the ball all 6 times. Whatever happened to taking shots on 2nd and short because the entire playbook is open? This is what I mean about Dorsey. He is too damn predictable and it's making it way too easy for an NFL level defensive coordinator. Every yard the Bills gain is a difficult yard. They either play perfect of their offense is garbage.

Garappolol was fine in that offense and almost won them a Super Bowl with less talent than they have now. He is just made of glass.
-
Maybe now they can start using Kincaid more. He has better hands anyways. Josh just needs to trust him and get him the ball.

Devils advocate...what is Josh is the problem?

What exactly am I supposed to see above? You came all in this thread acting like you are some expert and the rest of us are just dumb. I have seen no analysis from your expert film review. No pictures, no clips, no walkthrough analysis of pictures or clips of your own. -
I’m not optimistic right now. I think we have to win the division to get in the playoffs this year. We have too many conference losses with more tough conference games coming. the only way this team has a chance is if Josh turns back into super Josh. The coaches need to let him go and play his game. The defense is shot. Too many lost players. Our offense lacks the talent it needs to have just good Josh. We need perfect Josh. I doubt they can turn it around on a short week after a lousy three weeks but we need to win this game. We need to get back in front of Miami and keep pace until we do. Their schedule is soft. Ours is rough. My hope is the Pats played better than they are because they know Buffalo so well. Division games always play different. Tampa isn’t terrible but they aren’t great either. They are a middling team. They need to find a way until this offense gets their heads out of their ass. Im not giving up yet but losing this game I would. Even though it’s out of conference, we can’t afford another loss against a mid team.

Lets see your film review. Show your work and your analysis. Otherwise you are talking garbage and just trying to sound like you know football when you don't. Cover1 put out a few clips of Josh not making the throw. They also put out some where Josh had no chance. Nobody here cross posted those though did they. Could it be because they (read:you) have an agenda? -

I've said my thoughts on this in many threads so I will just sum it up... 1. Lack of talent on the offensive side of the football 2. Bad coaching. -
Josh’s stats so far - the Ken Dorsey Offense
Scott7975 replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't care about EPA. I care about wins. The offense was not good period. EPA can kiss my ass. 20, 14, 25. Thats the scores over the last 3 weeks. 1 win and 2 losses. Most of those points are last minute oh crap lets open the offense up points. Use your eyeballs instead of stats. What part of this offense looked like the #2 offense in the league over the last 3 weeks? -
Josh’s stats so far - the Ken Dorsey Offense
Scott7975 replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't care if Dorsey scheme is amazing and the dude calls a perfect game. If our offense can't run that offense then it is the wrong offense. Our talent is subpar, our oline started good and is now a big failure as well. They took an elite QB and turned him into a mid QB asking him to do things that isn't what he excels at. They neutured Josh to play safe football. This is what McDermott wants. This is why Daboll left mad. This is why Dorsey got the job, because he is a yes sir man. I don't care what the stats show. This offense is bad and the stats are feeding off a couple games. If people are blind and can't see this offense is dumpster fire then there is nothing anyone can tell them. They just want to pump stats at you. We haven't done jack in 3 weeks now. 2nd and short is a good time to take shots. We had 2nd and short 6 times this week. It was a Cook run every time. Yes, he got the first down 5/6 times but its a missed opportunity to take a deep shot that could get a big chunk in favor of playing safe, predictable football that needs to be perfect execution with a bunch of mediocre guys and only 2 real playmakers. One of which has been castrated. -
Instead of being a game back, we could have been in the division lead. Miami has a weak schedule other than a few more teams. The margin for error is zero. If we don't win the division then we probably also lost enough games to not make the playoffs at all.
