Don't underestimate the likelihood of a kickoff specialist either. If you can kick the ball out of the end zone every time you can put Josh Allen on kickoff coverage. This one move frees up so many wasted roster spots for special teams kick coverage. Fewer kickoffs to cover also has an added benefit of fewer player interactions/collisions which is more important than ever in a COVID season. If we add the 40-49 yard kicker as mentioned repeatedly by @klos63 we could feasibly carry 4 kickers this season.

No details of the delay have been released that I saw in that article. For 80% of the players making the veteran minimum: Would you rather get 65% of your salary during the season and 35% sometime after, or no salary at all? Michael Thomas is probably upset because he has a balloon payment on some island he bought coming due.
