  1. I vaguely remember John Cangelosi as a New York Met. It's funny when I googled him from his time with the club one of the first images that came up was him making the cover of Sports Illustrated for a brawl. But he had a book out last year where he detailed his experiences as a major/minor leaguer. Ball players cut from his cloth were always my favorite: scrappy, no nonsense, lead by example, etc... His first year with the White Sox he stole 50 bases. Stolen bases in general have seen to be a lost art. Even though he wasn't a Met all that long he did spend a lot of time in the minors playing in WNY. I thought it was cool he seems to think very fondly of his time in Buffalo along with the people there. http://www.herdchronicles.com/single-post/2019/07/22/Leading-by-Example Interestingly enough one of his managers there was Terry Collins. But yeah in quarantine it looks like a book I wouldn't mind reading.
  2. Even sports sometimes I don’t bring it up... My one co worker is a big Patriots fan. Since I like and respect him otherwise it’s just not worth going there at work
  3. The 1st game of the 2012 season comes to mind against the Jets. I know he struggled toward the end of 2011 but it was rumored he had cracked ribs. The Jets opener was supposed to be a statement game that year and he was pretty bad. Topped off by a pick 6 to start the second half. I kinda got pessimistic that day going forward As others eluded he’s a very likeable dude and I give him credit for keep reinventing himself to have that lengthy a career. But teams I think are foolish to think he’s a long term solution
  4. Because someday this crap will all be over. Nothing shall stop us.
  5. I still remember watching the 2013 game when the Falcons kicked the winning field goal and I heard cheers in the stands! They might have done all right financially with it but Bills fans should be glad those days are over ?. The 2011 Redskins game was the only win in Canada I think
  6. Yeah I figured if you’d gone only to a Toronto game those years you really wouldn’t get a real home game experience hence the title. I woulda put Orchard Park in the title but there might be some fans here that were only in the Rockpile. You never know ?
  7. I mean I can't speak for this poster but I'm not from Buffalo nor do I have any sort of real ties to the city outside this message board. I mean if you even want to call it that? With me when I started watched football in the early 90's the Bills were solid and I always heard my father speak fondly of the area when he used to travel there for work. So I guess that's where liking the Bills started with me. It's waned at times over the years but it's still there
  8. Thanks. ? One doesn’t need a mathematical mind to think analytically on what I’ve read here over the years. Lol
  9. It’s a question I’m going to guess most members at TBD have. Maybe around 90-95%. But I’m sure there’s a few who might not have. I’d be curious to know why if you answered no. Not that I think it makes someone less of a fan at all. Especially if traveling/distance is an issue. Or if you just like to follow the games more from home or at a local Bills Backer club per say. For the record I’ve been to two home games.
  10. They still would charge you otherwise in the midst of a pandemic? Just doesn’t sound like the best business practice. To me anyway
  11. Well I was never into the party scene in my early 20s but I can certainly empathize with someone who made decisions in their life around that age their not proud of. I’ve had my share. But no getting around it the DWI and gun charge together just isn’t good. Especially now What’s done is done though. I’m a believer in taking personal responsibility for your actions. That’s where I’d like to see Ed learn
  12. I always tended to think paramedics were underpaid/unappreciated for the type of work they do even before the outbreak. It seems there's more appreciation for those workers now. Working in healthcare (I'm not on the front lines) it's nice to see the Heroes Work Here signs in front of a lot of the buildings. Nurses/care givers seem to get more respect over all now
  13. I'm still not going to sugar coat it, the Art Howe era (2003-2004) might have been some of the most cringeworthy and awful Mets baseball I recall in my lifetime. It really wasn't the happiest few years either in my life so maybe that's why I remember it so badly? But anyway I do recall him being a nice/decent man. I was saddened to read that. I hope he recovers
  14. I always enjoy reading your thoughts and posts. But I think you may be looking too deeply into this. Who cares what some random Jet fan posts or thinks on their message boards
  15. I was never really a big Winnie Cooper fan from The Wonder Years. I always thought during the course of the series she just played mind games with Kevin. Kevin could be a jerk at times but more often then not he had his heart broken by her during the course of the series. Somewhere in the middle of the series a tall beautiful French girl Madeline liked Kevin and even kissed him in front of everyone. I always thought he was silly for being so hung up on Winnie
  16. Bologna and cheese. A certain ex Bills coach favorite as well lol
  17. Agree on 2012. I’d also add Stevie Johnson took less money to be a Bill that offseason. I’m thinking all right they made improvements on their defense and everyone is happy and wants to be here. Needless to say I was very disappointed. But as you say the team had no depth and no real clear vision. I kick myself now for being so hyped on that team. The 2019 opening win against the Jets in New Jersey though erased the memory of opening day in 2012 though ?
  18. I re watched some of the 1st half last night. It was nice to see and remember how passionate the crowd was that night. Also kinda cool to see the game in HD versus my my tiny Sony tv at the time. It did bring me back to my early 20s, a more care free time in my life. More for Off The Wall but reminded me of things I wished I’d done differently But yeah wasn’t gonna re watch the 4th quarter!
  19. Eye opening! Reading them may make me want to post this disclaimer if I post an opinion on draft night. My views are subject to evolve/change. It may also be very well affected at the moment by my very lousy mood at the moment and the amount of drinks in my system
  20. I admit to liking drafting him at that time. I thought he had the physical tools to develop. Still like him from a personality stand point. He seemed to be a hard worker so I always wonder why it never clicked for him. Ultimately I just think he didn’t have the mental toughness or a good foundation mentally to withstand playing at that level. And as he said himself his confidence seem to go down over the years. Even after he left the Bills I still thought with hard work and good mental coaching to get to the root of his issues he could have still been at the very least a backup QB in the league. But yeah ultimately his choices
