In this age of sophisticated statistics I think you’d be hard pressed to find a team with this good starting pitching that always loses. Without fail either the bullpen blows it or the offense is anemic.
This team killed my theory good starting pitching is the most important thing
Yeah man. I saw the statistic they flashed it was the Mets worst June in franchise history and their third worst month record wise in franchise history. Crazy to think they never even had this bad a month in the inaugural season.
I have to wonder if Mickey actually wants to be fired. I know there's an image he has to project of having things in control but he seems genuinely unaffected/unstressed by all this. Well at least to me. All he really says is we'll climb out of this or we'll keep fighting. I mean wasn't a big fan of but Willie Randolph always seemed to me to be super stressed even when the team was winning.
What a difference three years have made. Don't follow them day to day but the Royals record is even worse than the Mets.
Soon to be tied for worst record in the NL
Just Lol! Not even worth getting upset about anymore.
On the bright side, Wheeler on the other hand looked good. Id hang onto him. Even after giving up the grand slam against the Dodgers he took full responsibility. I like that
Was ready to annoite Fitz as the next coming of Jim Kelly after his first month in 2011. That was right after the Patriots win and I’m pretty sure he got offensive player of the month or something like that
Yeah I hear ya. I think even Mike said that was one of the biggest regrets of his career not fighting.
Its deinifely easier to say in hindsight but I think Piazza was afraid of getting suspended for fighting the rest of the series. And really who else was there in the lineup that year?
Still I take from that you gotta do what you gotta do
