  1. As far as today's game... I listened to some of it. In general I don't like intentional walking the #8 hitter that early in the game. That seemed kind of weak. As it turned out that was a dumb move, especially with the passed ball that happened next. However, I do believe sometimes it's just not your day. That seemed to be the case today. At least it seems Alonso is okay after the foul ball. On a positive note kudos to MacNeil. Fastest Met to 100 hits
  2. Good rye bread from the bakery.
  3. https://www.google.com/amp/s/thebiglead.com/2019/04/20/jacob-degrom-update-elbow-injury-mri/amp/ So now he’s throwing? I was hoping these communication issues that always seem to surround the Mets were done. Granted in this day in age with social media news becomes instantaneous whenever somebody looks at somebody the wrong way or farts. Still something about all this rubs me the wrong way about how things are run
  4. I’ve been to the Pierce Arrow one to look at the old cars. Wasnt a bad way to spend an hour or two. I forgot who it was named after but I was at The Frank Lloyd Wright house by the Zoo. Any other good ones?
  5. I'm thinking Gugny wasn't being too literal? I heard the interview though you were talking about with Francesa. Driving home from work when it was on so I didn't see any of todays gams. I mean he said nothing else really that eye opening. Though I was a little surprised when he said he's very hands on is going to travel with the team all season. Honestly idk what to make of that. My instinct says he meddlesome but it's not like I'm there.
  6. Yeah it's really the only legit win against the Patriots in the last 15 years ? Offensively he was brilliant, defense on the other hand... My favorite drought coach though
  7. Unrelated to this post but to your avatar... Still upset about that 2012 opener. Hopefully this year makes up for it!
  8. Lol! Apparently Bobby Jones had an outing this bad back in September of 1997 but I have no memory of that whatsoever. There's only been like 5 pitchers ever that didn't give up an out that had 8 plus runs charges
  9. This one killed Matz’s ERA. Hope it doesn’t shake his confidence
  10. I actually prefer this start of 9-5 versus 11-1. Save the wins for June. That’s when I’m gonna be nervous after last year especially!
  11. Not the best night for Jake even though he wasn’t helped by the umps. He has the body of work here I’m still not concerned. However another non solid effort next time out may raise a slight concern
  12. I've heard rumors more than once they are going to come back. https://www.thestar.com/sports/baseball/2018/03/26/montreals-bid-for-return-of-the-expos-springs-a-few-leaks.html I don't think anythings going to come out of it. Still a few years ago I was walking around downtown Montreal and Expos hats/shirts still looked like a popular selling item for local businesses
  13. Mets. I do like the Tribe in the AL though
  14. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.newsday.com/amp/sports/baseball/mets/robinson-cano-mets-slump-1.29767050 He had a great opening day with the Mets on the other hand so did Mike Bordick... I think Cano will be all right but have to say I’m a little nervous
  15. I’ve dreamed more than once the Bills won a certain game 22-20. One time I dreamed the AFC Championship is the next day when the Bills in it. Then I woke up, then I had to go to work ?
  16. I tend to allow an extra 10-15 minutes each morning to have a dump then. Only emergencies will I do it at work. Most mornings then coming to work nobody can accuse me of being full of sh1t?
  17. I think that was actually the next week versus the Patriots. Game above was against Oakland. Two great games with 18 point plus comebacks in both though. At the time I was ecstatic
  18. It was Game 2 of the 2011 season. I just LOVED this at the time.
  19. Tonight showed even the best pitcher has sh11ty days
  20. Almost a Frank Reichish kinda comeback. Well almost but not quite Its kinda cool though his name always can get mentioned in the different sports for possible comebacks
  21. Armando was actually pretty good overall. The problem was in big games he always choked. World Series 2000 Game 1 for an example when he let an injured Paul O'Neill draw a 12 pitch walk off him and then scored the tying run. 2001 was quite symbolic imo for his tenure as Met. He was something like 43/44 in save opportunities that year. Of course in the game that mattered the most against the Braves at the end of that year when the team was making a comeback for 1st place, he couldn't get the save. I thought fans were a little hard on him overall but wasn't exactly sad when he got traded to the Yankees of all teams. Present day: a bit concerned about Wheeler. I thought he finally had it together after last season's 2nd half.
  22. I hadn't forgotten about him but your little bit about him made me look him up on Ultimate Mets Database. As it turns out he was who they traded back then for Bobby Bo in 1998. https://www.nytimes.com/1998/11/12/sports/baseball-mets-take-a-big-step-back-to-the-future.html Needless to say due to Bobby's contract, the franchise still feels his ghosts!
  23. Just going to touch on this whole Dykstra/Darling controversy. Lenny was a great player and it saddens me to some extent players today don't have that same kind of passion for the game. Having said that he's proved time and time again he's not a good person and that's putting it very nicely. Now having said that about Lenny I really question why Darling is mentioning stuff that happened over 30 years ago now. Well to sell books... I mean there's plenty of stuff I said over 10 plus years ago that if got brought up now I'd be embarrassed by. I move on though and don't linger over the past... In terms of just this content Lenny was bothering Oil Can Boyd.... its competitive battle. I mean not really my way to harass someone but in Lenny's case he hit a HR off him that night. He was probably just playing mind games with him to throw him off his game. Shouldn't be looked as more than that. Well at least to me. So ultimately while I dislike Dykstra the person, I'd take his side in this
  24. DeGrom tearing it up! Can hit too Similar to Doc in 85 and Harvey to some extent in 13 it feels like an event whenever he takes the mound. I just hope he doesn’t have the drug issues of Doc or turn into a total d-bag (Harvey).
