  1. Who knew Richard Nixon was a Mets fan?
  2. Yep. One thing we can hang our hat on as well is the Bills are still the last team to lose the Super Bowl and make it back the next year.
  3. I suppose if there's 0.000001% justice in this it's that San Diego doesn't see the team move and win a Super Bowl just two or three years later
  4. There's a reason I don't watch Patriots playoff games. I just googled the score, that explains it all. Seriously Chargers!!!
  5. He died 30 years ago on this date January 13, 1989. You may not know the name but you'd probably recognize the face. One of best and most original character actors. Willie Cicci from The Godfather, Gazzo from Rocky, and the first person who speaks in Taxi Driver. What do you want to hack for Bickle? He's pretty much the guy Sylvester Stallone owes his career to for supporting him when he was living in poverty and helped make Rocky. Spinell was godfather to one of Stallone's sons. Joe truly was a talented and unique individual who reminds me of that old New York City before it became so gentrified. For anyone who likes horror movies here I'd highly recommend Maniac. The movie is a little gruesome but Joe was fantastic in it. The trailer is below, it does spoil some of the movie sorry about that.
  6. On a side note the Chiefs game is making remember Mahomes Sr. and his time as a relief pitcher with the Mets. From what I remember he was pretty solid the year or two here.
  7. Despite it being an active off season I still have my doubts. The 2002 off season comes to mind. At the time it looked a lot of solid pickups that offseason but that year turned out to be a disaster. Roberto Alomar, Mo Vaughn, Kevin Appier, Roger Cedeno, etc... Of course I hope to be shown wrong as some dumb cynical poster.
  8. What an ass #96 on the Colts. You're still down 17 points and shaking your crotch in front of the ref
  9. The Packers are easily my favorite team out of ones having significant success in the league (meaning winning more than 5 Super Bowls). I mean back in the SuperBowl 8 years ago it was so much easier to root for them vs the Steelers. It’s a team I definitely don’t mind. I may prefer the Lions over them though if they play in the NFC title game only because the Lions haven’t won anything ever
  10. Your avatar reminded me of Who’s The Boss. Liked that show as a kid. Wouldn’t want to see it remade but think the premise of that show can still work today
  11. Defibrillators should be ready just in case at the station
  12. Joe Benigno at 10am in the NYC area should be something. He was screaming to get McCarthy
  13. I hadn’t been in Manhattan in years but let’s just say as well uuh white cab drivers weren’t exactly plentiful ? Switching channels I caught some reruns on Logo which is actually the gay channel ironically. It’s weird how a lot of that material seems tame today but still could never make it today
  14. No but if your a fan of the one two teams playing you should get to call out sick at work the next day. HR should set up rules for that to show proof of fandom
  15. Sledgehammer! That was such an underrated classic
  16. I liked Taxi a lot as well even though it was before my time. I don’t know how some of those skits would work in the modern world though. Like when Louie would charge the cabbies money for messages. The pre cell phone world!
  17. Also Mike was sort of proven to be right at the end of most of the episodes
  18. How can I have forgotten Beavis and Butthead. Hell I started a whole thread here on it ?
  19. Monk The wonder Years The White Shadow The Sopranos Or at least pick up where left off
  20. If somebody says to someone else at work they made them look like an a-hole,would that be considered? Or just depends
  21. I know it gets mentioned a bit these days. Does it mean more than shouting and or cursing at someone? Making threats against somebody
  22. I guess the happy medium is giving out the trophies but honoring the best kids with the largest trophies. How it was when I was growing up. Or is that even too much these days?
  23. Jets/Giants country with some Eagles fans scattered in. Central Jersey. Pretty indifferent to it all. Though obviously was pulling hard for the Eagles in the Super Bowl last year. I like the Browns. If the Lions ever made the playoffs I’d pull for them
  24. I always wondered why Carpenter was money kicking field goals when Marrone was the coach but dropped off so much when Rex was. I still remember Carpenter that one year drilling a 58 yarder against the Lions to win it
