Week 2 - Bills at Fins - Post game thread
dgrochester55 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
This was one of the most complete performances from the team that I have seen. The defense and rushing played well enough where we could have won with Trubisky or White playing at QB. That is very rare in the last few years. Don't get me wrong, Josh Allen is the franchise and the team's success goes hand in hand with his, but it is nice to see that we can win in more than one way. -
McDermott did great tonight and this was a complete team effort. What stood out to me more was just how outclassed McDaniel was. He may be a brilliant mind or an ideal fit at a lower position, but he looked lost as a head coach today.
-
Fair enough. I see what you described on both sides. Most of us would probably have more in common that what we think if we went over what is frustrating us in the country. Instead, most online debates turn into people trying to out Google and out insult each other. If anything, 2024 should be a hard lesson for both parties to do a better job of finding the best candidate for their party.

The tone of your reply only provides us a stereotypical snapshot of how divided this country is. Nothing more, nothing less. We have all seen it thousands of times. You added nothing to the conversation.

Tyreek Hill apparently arrested this morning…
dgrochester55 replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Now Hill wants the cop fired. He was driving recklessly, got pulled over, acted inappropriately and was still cut a break because of his status as an NFL player. Bad look for him. -
Harris also said things that were not accurate. I am not saying that they should not have corrected Trump, but that they should have also fact checked her and asked her tough questions. If you do not like Trump like many don't, fine. I do not care for him either. What I do not get is why people would not want to see equal treatment and an even playing field on the debate. Regardless of how it is spun or justified, that did not happen.
-
I am independent and was going to likely vote Kennedy before he dropped out. Trump had a bad night and the mods showed bias. Both happened, One did not cause the other and it is not an either/or. The mods on ABC news were problematic. Why was Harris not asked the same type of tough questions or corrected when she said something inaccurate? This is not just a few MAGAs whining, the bias of ABC news seemed to be noticed across the board. Harris shows a history that is far to the left but suddenly seems to be running on a more moderate platform. People have a right to naturally question why there was a sudden change in her views and the mods did a disservice by not pressing this. We already know what Trump is like for better or worse. A lot of Americans do not know much about Harris and had questions about her that were not answered. A good debate moderator gives equal and consistent treatment to each participant and that did not happen last night.
-
I don't have a problem with the moderators pressing and fact checking Trump, but Harris was not asked one challenging question. We still do not know a lot about her. It was a disservice to the people to not make her explain her sudden movement to the center or why they were not doing what she was promising now. Trump was off tonight, but his only saving grace might be people seeing the bias of ABC and asking for another debate.
-
Don't get me wrong, I lean conservative but am also independent. I will not vote for Harris no matter what. I just think that Trump has done nothing to sway the middle and independent voters.
-
This was the Republican's race to win two years ago and I am convinced that any other candidate would have won easily. Now things are looking doubtful. This administration is a disaster, but when the opposing party handles their entire campaign like McDermott handles two minute drills, that likely means a Harris win.

At first, I thought that we were going to see the Eagles game all over again, but the officiating crew was bad across the board. Both teams got wrong calls against them. They were flag happy for most of the game while strangely at the same time missing legitimate calls. The refs were flag happy everywhere. I watched the Thursday night game and the Bills game in full. I also watched Red Zone in the later games and during commercials in the Bills game. I noticed an excessive amount of false start and illegal formation penalties across the board. Hopefully that is just teams not being in sync yet. The problem with the rules in the league is there are so many subjective ones that any official that wants to make their presence known can singlehandedly slow down a game or make it unwatchable. Even if they are not favoring teams as some perceive, that is still problematic.

Week 1 - Cardinals at Bills - Post Game Thread
dgrochester55 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great turnaround, but I think that this team will have some early season growing pains. I will take every win that we can get with this tough early schedule, one week at a time. The Dolphins game could be tough, but I am counting on the fact that we have recently owned them to somehow carry us through. -
Week 1 - Cardinals at Bills 1st Half Thread

I am not too concerned about the offense because i expected some hiccups with the new receivers. The defense may be a problem. It looks more like a team lacking in talent than underachieving so far. -
The chatter around the Worthy trade isn't rational
dgrochester55 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
The trades were as follows. Buffalo trades Picks 28, 133 and 248 to the Chiefs for picks 32, 95 and 221. Subsequently, the Bills traded the 32nd and 200th pick to the panthers for the 33rd and 141st. The players involved are BIlls-Keon Coleman-WR, DeWayne Carter DT, Sedrick Van Pan Granger C and Travis Clayton OT Chiefs-Xavier Worthy-WR, Jaden Hicks S, and CJ Hanson G Panthers-Xavier Legette-WR and Jaden Crumedy-DT Carter, Van Pan Granger and Hicks are likely backups for their respective team this year who may contribute more in the future, but this is really about Coleman, Worthy and Legette. I also do not like the concept of trading to a rival and giving them who they want, but if Coleman becomes a star, it is a good decision. Only time will tell. -

The running play was well executed by the Chiefs and any running back or receiver in the league could have scored on that. The catch was more impressive, but even that was blown coverage on the Ravens part. Still a great start by Worthy, but people need to relax. Not only is it just week 1, but Coleman hasn't even played his game yet. What if he gets 7 catch 100+ yard and two touchdowns? You never know. Lets give it at least a full season before we analyze whether or not it was a good move. -
NFL 2024 Kickoff: Ravens @ Chiefs, Sept 5 - 8:20pm

It's an overly dramatic way of describing the simple act of cheering against the other team that any fan of any sport has done at some point in time. -

Chiefs 29 Ravens 27 The chiefs are down and driving with less than one minute left. The Ravens stop Kelce short on 4th down. One minute later as the Ravens offense is getting ready to go on the field......flag.......we see our first hip drop tackle penalty of the season against the defense and a 15 second shot of Taylor Swift celebrating in the booth instead of the replay. One chip shot field goal(with an offside penalty called if the Chiefs miss), later Chiefs win. -

Your newest Buffalo Bill... WR Jalen Virgil!

Let me go a level deeper. Ted DiBiase and Virgil were said in various shoot interviews to be a spoof on Ted Turner and Dusty Rhodes so the names were likely more than coincidental. -

According to Wiki, Sean Hochuli was an avid Eagles fan for about 20 minutes when I made an edit after the Bills/Eagles game. -
NFL cuts, trades, and roster activity

Toney cut?! Lets get it done Buffalo!..... Okay, I can't say that with a straight face, I am kidding. We aren't that desperate. -
Fast Freddie Smith is gone too. I heard the Patriots signed him to get some intel.
