Offense-2 QB, 3Rb, 1Fb, 3Te, 9 Ol, 6Wr = 24 Defense- 8Dl, 7Lb, 5 CB , 4Sa = 24 . 3 Special teams = 51 total. That leaves 2 players to put on roster. What positions will add the two remaining players. I would guess another hybrid DB, and ?
I'm hoping Matthews/ Watkins and Gaines/Darby are a wash. We get a few breaks and get into the playoffs. Then having 7 picks in the first 3 rounds can get this organization moving in the right direction. We need a little momentum.
Darby was pretty bad last year. Professional sports mantras are often what have you done for me lately. Rumors are he didn't buy in and he wasn't a good fit. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens this season . If Matthews and Gaines come close to Watkins and Darby's production the trades will be looked at as positive decisions for our team. I will root for Matthews and Gaines. Hope Sammy and Darby do well also. But they are now secondary.
The line is 5.5 opening day so vegas isn't expecting a blowout. Will be a game going into the 4th quarter with or without Sammy and Ronald. Believe it or not the line didn't move because of the trades. That actually says a lot to me.🤔
A 2nd from the Rams is going to be in the 33-37 range. I liked Sammy too but being objective with everything we know I'm fine with it. I look st it this way. Let's say Sammy and Matthews put up like numbers and Gaines and Darby do also. This is quite possible. Come next April we will be extremely happy with these trades. Time will tell, Sammy was the fourth pick in the draft he could be great in the future. He also could hurt his foot again and be labeled as injury prone and never have the career we wanted him to have in Buffalo.
Do the Bills staff value Kevin Seymour more than most fans? I'm not sure Gaines makes the 53? Sammy's potential is way past Jordan Matthews. But Matthews isn't as bad as some make him out to be. I snapped when I first saw the trade. Now it's making a lot more sense. Sammy was my favorite current player so I'm bummed he's not here. But I'm for what's best for the Bills overall. Time will tell . Trust the process 😁
Ragland is a very good football player coming off a serious injury. Probably not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Playing in a brand new system. Be patient he will be a very good player for the Bills in the future.
Preseason games will determine if Thomas and O'Leary are the answer. If one is injured or struggles maybe Bills bring him in. Thought he would be in someone's camp by now? A little weird to me. The only thing that makes sense is he's not coming down from a certain contract number. Whatever that may be.
I have felt for some time now that a major weakness is our safety depth. Am I overreacting? I haven't heard much about Shamiel Gary. Seems like he's next man up when Hyde got a little banged up. Hopefully no news is good news as I haven't heard anything negative about his play. Does anyone have any insight? I usually have a lot of faith in the coaching staff. They obviously are on top of it, and haven't made a move for a FA safety besides Rambo. I personally feel Rambo is average at best. Seems like a great person and would like to see the Rambo from the GB game a couple years back.
Many misunderstood my point. I never said Hyde got hurt just banged up. He's actually sitting out today. My point is there's some pretty good safeties not signed yet and we need to bring in someone who the staff deems as the best fit for the system. Because if Hyde misses time our Defense will be severely weakened. I guess we will see what Shamiel Gary's got today. Maybe he's the answer.🤔
Dodged a bullet today. Hope the brain trust sobered up a little and have another NFL caliber safety on his way to Rochester. There a probably more available quality safeties than any other position right now. Hyde would be a big loss especially with no backup plan. Corey, Leon Hall, Byrd etc...... somebody😳
