Walter Payton nominee for Buffalo. Great person. That's just way too much for the player. Hope he earns it. Good luck! -

With all due respect, insulting a poster who views this as a bad move brings your football knowledge into question. McKenzie was really the ONLY all purpose weapon Buffalo has had on the team for the last few years. Citing his stats is fine n dandy except we all know stats lie... especially when they're comprehensive season stats for a player who was given such a limited role this season. If you watched McKenzie play over the now 4 years he's been in Buffalo you'd see a player worth the money. At worst we've got our #4 WR & KR/PR. At best we might have a replacement for Cole and more of an all-purpose replacement who could even potentially be thrown in at RB every once in awhile. WIN!!!

This is awesome. I think if McKenzie is actually utilized in an offense consistently he can basically be a poor man's Tyreek Hill. And anyone criticizing me saying that's a good thing... look at the other WRs in our WR corps ahead of him vs the other WRs in KC's WR corps.. For some reason Daboll stopped using him this year until the 2nd half of the season. Loved what we did with him in 2020 with all the motions and jet sweeps. I hope Stevenson figures out the return position so we can save McKenzie for the offense.

Bills don’t need a number 2 receiver
transplantbillsfan replied to BuffBills51's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think most of us feel this way about Davis, but in today's NFL you can never have enough WRs and if I'm not mistaken in terms of last year's roster we only have 3 under contract, one of whom was a rookie last year who hasn't demonstrated he belongs on the field and it's pretty clear we're trading or cutting another one. We need to draft/sign multiple viable Wide Receivers... period. -
Russell Wilson traded to the Broncos
transplantbillsfan replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Who cares as long as we're playing them at home? And with the current state of the AFC why would you even assume it'd be Miami or the Patriots we'd play? The way I look at it there are 4 teams who will win their divisions and there will be 3 Wildcard teams. Even before this move there were already 7 teams outside of Buffalo I don't think anyone would consider a tomato can KC, LAC, LVR, Cin, Balt, Ind, Ten Toss in a traditionally well-run organization like Pittsburgh and a really good roster with a question mark at QB and you've got 9 AFC teams that I don't think anyone would call creampuffs. The fact is that I think most would agree that the Chiefs were still viewed as the cream of the crop and the favorite in general in the AFC. Their road just got harder. And even if Denver didn't just acquire Wilson, our 1st round draw in the playoffs might've been Jonathan Taylor or Derrick Henry. Honestly, those guys scare me more than Russell Wilson, considering we have 5 years of Buffalo teams struggling against Elite RBs. -

Again, Buffalo is 3-0 under McDermott at home in the playoffs and 0-4 on the road. There's not any measurable way to assess the impact playing in KC had on Buffalo, but it's foolish and naive to think it had zero impact. And any impact in a game like that may just have been one of if not THE deciding factor. -

You think Denver is going 5-1 or 6-0 in that division? On top of playing each other the AFC West also plays the NFC West this year. Yes, Denver just got a lot better... but we don't play them during the regular season next year and they got better in a division with the team that's bounced us out of the playoffs the last 2 years in part because we've had to play on the road. -

Right now Sean McDermott's teams are 3-0 at home in the playoffs and 0-4 on the road. Until we lose a home playoff game, I think it's a hard argument to make that significantly increased odds of being at home throughout the playoffs is a negative. -

transplantbillsfan replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Totally disagree. Buffalo has the path laid out for them to get the #1 seed to get the 1st round bye and home games throughout the playoffs. The AFC West is going to be a war of attrition throughout the year. Does anyone legitimately think ANY team in that division will go 5-1 or 6-0 at this point? Would anyone bet against Buffalo going 5-1 or 6-0 in the AFC East? This is fantastic for Buffalo I think specifically because of what it does to Kansas City.- 300 replies

Russell Wilson traded to the Broncos

Are you saying this as though Wilson is old? 33 is pretty young for NFL QBs who actually bother to take care of themselves nowadays... and Wilson does just that. -

transplantbillsfan replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Absolutely. Right now things are setting up for Buffalo and Josh Allen similarly to how it was set up for Brady and the Patriots for years. Buffalo is playing in the 2nd worst division in the AFC (AFC South is pretty obviously the worst) and Buffalo is more dominant than the most dominant team in the AFC South (Titans? Colts?). Without any offseason moves at this point and knowing that our opponents next season are the AFC North (now minus Big Ben and Cleveland is still a mess) and NFC North (possibly the weakest NFC conference) and at this moment I wonder if the Vegas needle has moved from Kansas City to Buffalo for next season as far as who wins the AFC and Super Bowl. -

I really don't understand the compensatory draft formula. Can someone try to explain it to me? Is it true that coaching staff losses would also be included? If this is the case I sure would expect we'll get at least an extra pick or 2. That means we'd have 10 or 11 picks in the upcoming draft. I anticipate some wheeling and dealing on Beane's part

And honestly... Josh's 10 best plays from his rookie year might be better than the 10 best plays you'll find from any other QB in the NFL over the course of their careers maybe outside Rodgers & Mahomes:

Notable Nexflix / Amazon / Premium Channel Series & Movies
transplantbillsfan replied to Heitz's topic in Off the Wall
Been a few months since I've been here and scrolled back and since I've seen no discussion of it I want to ask: Has anyone watched Midnight Mass and what did you think? I honestly think as far as limited series goes it's easily in my top 5 and more likely in my top 3. True Detective season 1 will forever be hard to beat. As far as other shows, I see people talking about Reacher. Loved it! Cruised right through it! (I typed that sentence without the pun intended... but... pun intended now) If you are willing to try something a little different, Schmigadoon on Apple TV + is actually really good. It's a satire/parody of old 1950s musicals... and yes... it's a bit of a musical. Keenan Michael-Key and Cecily Strong are the main stars, but it has a bunch of other really good actors you'll recognize. If you're into some dry British comedy with a bit of history (yes, it's actually based loosely on a true story), the first 3 episodes of Our Flag Means Death are out on HBO Max. Wife and I love it. -
Allen didn't really suck his rookie season if you're comparing him to his peers: Other rookie QBs. I'm no NFL film guru or nearly on the level of posters like @GunnerBill as far as scouting knowledge, etc, but Allen's rookie season is the only thing I've ever actually took extensive time to do anything close to film review... and I did it in comparison to his peers. And as far as ball accuracy, Allen was on the level (arguably better) as far as accuracy goes on his passes. Accuracy was the big thing everyone pointed to his rookie season because of his low completion percentage and his turnover rate, but the truth is Allen's biggest issue his rookie year was what any rookie QB's issue is their rookie year: Decision making. But he was also such a stud athlete that he could make up for some of those bad decisions with his legs. The narrative even amongst experts and pundits who love Allen now like Colin Cowherd are that he was godawful for his first 2 years and just suddenly the light turned on in year 3 and that was just far from the case.

I'm confused about what this thread has turned into, but if the following is true... 1) Farwell wanted to squib kick and told the Special Teams guys (except Bass) that's what we were doing. 2) McDermott told Farwell we were kicking a touchback and taking no time off the clock, so Farwell said nothing to Bass. 3) Buffalo was focused on preventing a KC TD at the end of regulation without focus on a FG. ...that's terrifying moving forward as a Bills fan. Sean McDermott might be on a similar path to Mike McCarthy if that's true. That doesn't bode well for Buffalo. Has there been anything to refute the main points made in all that "speculation?"

Which WR do you think the Bills will draft?
transplantbillsfan replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wow. Really? I am completely unfamiliar with college players, but Gabe Davis has been incredibly impressive the last 2 years. For one thing he seems to have some of the best sideline awareness in the NFL. Plus he's big, powerful and a really good route runner already. Anyone else in this thread agree with this poster's assessment? -
Which WR do you think the Bills will draft?
transplantbillsfan replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just listened to a PFF podcast from a couple days ago about the draft as a whole with guests Jon Ledyard and Dane Brugler. Consensus seems to be that the class is incredibly deep with what will ultimately be really good number 2 NFL WRs and there are no truly alpha number 1s like in previous years. This bodes well for Buffalo. I never know much about college players until the season ends and I start getting interested in the draft, but I voted Jameson Williams. Part of me voting for him is the fact that now that we've given Beasley permission to seek a trade I believe we'll try to ink li'l dirty to a multi-year deal to take Cole's place more permanently. And that might be more hope than anything on my part. Regardless, if we do that I think this team has 4 WR slots on the roster established (Diggs, Davis, McKenzie, & Stevenson who I think becomes our primary returner to take the load off our now permanent slot) and we'll probably bring in a middle of the road vet FA to compete with the younger guys on our roster like Hodgins for a 5th spot. Sanders said if he comes back to play it will be with Josh Allen so we can't rule him out for the 5th spot, either. Plus we can't rule out bringing Kumerow back for the important added Special Team's value. All of that could set up a virtual redshirt year for a guy who might've been the #1 WR in this class if not for his injury. If Davis plays well this season hopefully we can get him signed to a long term deal and then Buffalo is set up with a WR corps of Diggs, Davis, Williams and McKenzie through the 2025 season. That's a lot of projecting and a lot of hope, but I think that's the ideal plan. However, 2 big questions: 1) Do we actually resign McKenzie? Maybe more importantly, does his love for Josh Allen (clearly there) outweigh his friction with Sean McDermott (clearly there)? 2) Are we targeting our CB2 in FA or the draft? I do believe round 1 is either CB or WR. If McKenzie isn't back... gonna need a fast and versatile slot guy who can play this season... might have to wait til round 2 to draft him. Who is that? Anyone?
