  1. Really valid point... I am going to put that in the OP because it tells the story
  2. I don't know the details of Allen’s contract, but I thought when he signed it I remember him or Beane saying that part of the beauty of the deal is the flexibility it affords the team. Come on guys... anyone frowning upon Allen taking the "max deal" (and is that actually what it was or will end up being in retrospect) is ridiculous. Brady took less because he has a wife whose net worth is $400 million. Allen comes from a farming family. Good for him to get paid. That said, I'm 100% sure if he feels his contract is hindering the team, he'd be willing to get creative with Beane in a restructure. Our Super Bowl window is open AT LEAST for another 5 if not 10-15 years assuming Allen stays healthy.
  3. He's good enough in a rotation with another RB. We need to get rid of Moss, though.
  4. Why would Dorsey walk away from a Unicorn QB in Josh Allen (who lobbied for him the day after the KC game) for a horrible QB in Daniel Jones or an unknown? Unless there's bad blood with someone in the organization, it doesn't make any sense at all to make a lateral move from sure thing to big question mark.
  5. Who cares. Ken Dorsey will be our OC. He's been groomed. It's actually an exciting change to me. Let's all remember that Josh is our 250 million dollar man and he'll be able to give input not just into our new OC but the plays he likes and doesn't like.
  6. I think this is a great point. I want there to be some kind of light switch installed in Josh. Off = Passing can get the job done so don't run and if you do go OB or slide On = Beast Mode. Someone else can come up with a different name for copyright purposes... but that’s pretty accurate. I want Josh to be our QB and playing at a high level for the next 15+ years. Running is just one of the things that makes him so incredible... we need the on/off switch so he doesn't turn into Cam Newton.
  7. It's fine to call Burrow and Herbert great. What riles us up is that Allen is better than them... clearly better than them. And there's still a seeming stubbornness among what are probably a lot of the analytics guys in the business. If there's anything I think we should notice after this weekend (and based on Beane's comments, I think he does) it's that we need offensive weapons that can run after the catch. All of the teams remaining in the playoffs are top 10 in YAC in the NFL with KC at #1, Cincy at #4, SF at #8 and LAR and #10. Having weapons like Chase, Samuel, Hill, Kelce & Kupp and having a gameplan that gets them quick short passes that they can potentially take to the house has been severely lacking in Buffalo's offense. What riles us up is that it's so obvious that Josh Allen essentially has to carry the team on his back and has done it successfully without legitimately Elite weapons like those other teams. And for as fantastic and blue-chip as I think Diggs and Davis are, their strengths are not YAC. We need that please.
  8. Whoa... is that right? He's older than Allen? Crazy!
  9. Sacks Per Game & Sack Percentage Per game 2018: 2.3 2019: 2.4 2020: 1.6 2021: 1.5 Percentage 2018: 7.59% and 21st in the NFL (Josh missed games, though) 2019: 7.12% and 21st in the NFL 2020: 4.66% and 7th in the NFL 2021: 3.89% and 2nd in the NFL (Brady & Bucs at #1) In 2019 Allen was the 10th most sacked QB in the NFL. In 2021 he was the 27th most sacked QB in the NFL. Does this say something about Allen's progression in the mental aspects of the game, including pre-snap, or are you attributing this mostly to OL? Discuss...
  10. Burrow is the most sacked QB in the NFL and was sacked nine times against Tennessee. Real good job analyzing defenses pre-snap. They won against the Titans mainly because of their Defense. All the praise for Burrow as the first QB to win an NFL game being sacked 9 times is comical. That's not something he should be proud of. That's something that should be cause for him buying his whole D (and his kicker) gifts for.
  11. Really? My impression was that it was done after it because in the first paragraph it mentions Burrow's and Allen's memorable playoff performances.
  12. I honestly don't think I'll be watching the Championship games simply because it's my wife's birthday, but I'll absolutely be watching the Super Bowl and will hope and pray the Chiefs aren't in there. I know some people are saying they want the Chiefs to throttle everyone from hereon out to somehow prove the Bills are the 2nd best team in the NFL, but that's not what will be discussed in the offseason. What will be discussed is that the Chiefs are now a dynasty. And that just makes me sick. The order of who I want to see win the Super Bowl: SF (the true underdog... and I'd love to see Jimmy G win and put Shanny in a bind as to what to do with him next year. Plus Jimmy G will probably win on the back of his D and Deebo Samuel) LA (I just really like Stafford. I always did in Detroit and he was stuck in Detroit. Let's face it, Stafford might make the HOF, but he doesn't have a chance anymore to be in the conversation of All time Great QBs.) Cincy (I don't want the Bengals win the Super Bowl, but I don't want them to win the Super Bowl significantly less than the Chiefs. I will say that it'll be annoying listening to all the offseason chatter of how great Burrow is and how he might be the best QB in the league... and you know we'll start hearing some people say this.) KC (YUCK YUCK YUCK YUCK!!!! This will start reaching the realm of me rooting against them as hard as I did against the Pats for years!) And I want to also note (and you can probably tell) that at this point in my fandom I'm largely rooting for teams that I don't think will be a threat to Buffalo's dynasty or Josh Allen's other-level-greatness for the next 10-15 years. Yes, I know that's petty.
  13. I was gonna post this. What the ***** is wrong with these people? Burrow over Allen? Seriously? Can we please get a WR corps as good as Chase, Higgins and Boyd and an RB as good as Mixon? And for as much as everyone is pointing to how bad Burrow's OL is and how much he's overcome it... do these people not watch Josh Allen play? Our OL only finally started coming together at the end of the season and you STILL watch Josh Allen getting pressure and Houdiniing (I think that's a word now) his way out of the pressure to make a spectacular play... ala the 2 point conversion to Diggs in the Chiefs game along with many, many other plays. Not a chance Burrow makes those plays. Is it Burrow's confidence that's getting him so much run? One of these guys picks Burrow because of his leadership. Again, do they not watch Josh Allen? Did they not watch last year after our playoff loss as he went up to EVERY single offensive player and hugged them? ***** these guys!
  14. Numbers always lie. Josh Allen himself has proven that simply with his success as he's made the analytics crowd look like idiots and Brandon Beane look like a genius. Also, if you are going to provide numbers, at least provide all of them, including his rushing numbers. 2020 - 421 yards, 4.1 YPC, 38 1st downs, 8 TDs, 6 lost fumbles 2021 - 763 yards, 6.3 YPC, 54 1st downs, 6 TDs, 3 lost fumbles And for God's sake, can you even try to consider how awful our OL was for a good stretch this year and the some of the terrible weather games we played in. Allen's getting better, even if the numbers don't.
  15. Davis & Knox sure look like they could get there. Poyer's not Elite? Hyde? Milano? This was Spencer Brown's first year at RT and he's a physical specimen.
  16. Those players became HOF players after great careers and 4 straight Super Bowls.
  17. Thank you for providing context to that ridiculous playcalling. I agree and that's just one example we've had. I won't be upset if he leaves or stays, honestly.
  18. Josh said in his exit interview he'd love Dorsey to be the guy to take over OC if Daboll leaves. I prefer new blood that operates the same system. I'm sorry, Daboll infuriates me sometimes when he takes the ball out of Josh's hands multiple plays in a row. We had a 3 and out where Josh handed off 3 times against the Chiefs. We had a 3rd and 4 where we handed off to Singletary. I get that he's done a lot of good things, but sometimes I think he's a better and more creative OC than Josh is a QB and playmaker.
  19. Allen doesn't, but I think McDermott, the coaching staff, and the Defense did. And unfortunately, even though Wins and Losses are a team sport and this Loss was more on those other entities, many will judge Allen as clearly 2nd to Mahomes until he beats Mahomes in the playoffs.
  20. If we have to choose between cutting Cole or resigning McKenzie can we please please please resign McKenzie?
  21. Seems like you're agreeing with the OP, then. Aren't you? I'm incredibly fearful the OP's analogy is accurate. I hope it's not and I'm not ready to make that conclusion yet because I think Allen can take over a game even more than Manning could as he only now (CRAZY!!!) enters his prime. And I mean that. However, we play in the same conference as the Chiefs and what you've just said here makes the Bills the Colts of the early to mid 2000s to Brady/Belicheck's Patriots. Now, what I think is fortunate for us is the fact that we play in the AFC East. And at least as of this moment, Allen looks like he's getting a situation with the AFC East like Brady had for years where it's one of the weaker divisions in Football. The Chiefs, by contrast, will have at least one other Elite QB to play in division in Herbert, if not 2 with Carr also in there and playing at a high level. Plus the Broncos seem like a generally aggressive organization ready to go out and get a QB. McDermott and Allen are 3-0 in the playoffs at home and 0-3 on the road. Get homefield advantage next year and I think we'll have our answer in the playoffs as to whether Allen is just the #2 behind Mahomes in the Conference or if he can truly compete with or even surpass him.
