SB Nation article - Josh a mega star

Diggs and Davis will be a fantastic 1-2 combo moving forward. The question will be who's #1 and who's #2? -
SB Nation article - Josh a mega star
transplantbillsfan replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll say this... I teach Seniors in High School. There are a couple kids who I talk a lot of football with. They've kinda ragged on me about the Bills over the year and laughed when I said Josh Allen is probably the most talented overall QB in the NFL. Yesterday when I saw these 2 students they said Josh Allen is their new favorite player. As for me, I agree that this offseason I can't be nearly as dejected as we were during the drought or even last year when KC was clearly better... or does that make it worse? I'm convinced Allen wins minimum 2 or 3 Super Bowls for Buffalo. This is just a year subtracted from his opportunities. -
Do you want KC to cruise to the Super Bowl title?
transplantbillsfan replied to Charles Romes's topic in The Stadium Wall
49ers then Rams then Bengals. Anybody but KC, even though I think they win it. -
Josh Allen is a future HOFer. There I said it...

Stafford is a HOFer if he wins a Super Bowl this year. The issue is the obscurites you have to reach for like Bulger as an argument on your part that this won't happen. I don't even think Bulger was on a HOF trajectory and Romo is wildly debateable, but for argument's sake, you've found 3 examples of players whose careers were derailed by injury. Cam Newton would probably have been your best example.. Of course it could happen. I could also win the lottery or get struck by lightning. But there's no point thinking about any of those things because it's not all that likely. -

Are you just being obtuse or can you really not see the difference between Josh Allen and Tony Romo or Marc Bulger? The Andrew Luck comparison is relevant, but I think Luck is out of the league because he doesn't love football as much as a HOFer needs to. Injury could derail a career, but for Allen it'd have to be pretty act-of-God kinda stuff. I could see him POSSIBLY tearing an ACL at some point and then coming back even stronger and better... Ala Tom Brady. -

I did. Sure looks like you are. Just say he might get injured. Why the hell would you compare him to a wildly inferior QB like Bulger? -

Did you really just compare Josh Allen to Marc Bulger Don't ever, ever do that again. Tony Romo might have eventually gotten in if he had better durability and stayed in the league longer, which Jerry Jones made clear he could. Andrew Luck would be in the HOF if he had the proper FO and nearly the love for Football Allen clearly does. And that's not a controversial statement... it's well documented. Just as it is with Trevor Lawrence. -

We know. I believed he was going to be after year 2. Most objective fans could see he probably would after last season. Anyone who can't see that barring a (PLEASE PLEASE GOD NO!!!) godforsaken career ending or debilitating injury at this point he's getting a jacket is stubborn or overcompensating or a hater. I don't care about the Gold Jacket. He's getting it. I want the multiple Super Bowls we're due with him as our QB. -
I know. I'm just still reeling. Hold me.
-
He's absolutely right. What's just deflating is that I've thought Allen would be an All time HOF great QB for a couple years now and every year without a Super Bowl is another year wasted as he grows older.

Calvin Ridley...do they bills go all in!?
transplantbillsfan replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Patterson 100% if we can get him. No on Ridley as we already have a pretty frigging good 1-2 WR combo in Diggs and Davis. I'm most concerned with what happens in the slot. -
Yes I watched this and it's my greatest fear. It was pretty clearly what separated Manning and Brady for years. In NE it was an Elite HC & Elite QB combo. In Indy it was just a very good HC with an Elite QB. It kinda terrifies me to think McDermott is merely a really good HC, because that means we'll always be bridesmaids, but never brides. And he'll never be bad enough to get fired. I just hope he's somehow learning from all these mistakes. Neglecting to squib kick yesterday was just plain criminal.

Anyone else view this as a squandered season? I get it... I was happy to be in the playoffs... but I think we're beyond that point. I absolutely cannot forgive Daboll for some of his playcalling, even if he believes he's doing it to set up plays like that 75 yarder to Davis. Handing the ball off 3 times in a row and then punting against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in a game where each team only completed one possession by the end of the 1st quarter is unacceptable. I know the grass isn't always greener on the other side, but I hope Daboll and Frazier get HC jobs. I believe they're the ones most responsible for squandering a year we coulda/shoulda/woulda won a Lombardi. And our Winter Soldier is another year older next season.

Allen makes Dabboll look good.

How about Daboll puts Allen in shackles with his playcalling? 3 straight handoffs and a punt? Seriously?! -
https://theathletic.com/3085111/2022/01/21/whats-changed-since-week-5-and-an-absurd-josh-allen-stat-22-bills-thoughts-heading-into-the-clash-with-the-chiefs?source=user-shared-article An absurd Josh Allen stat Before we get into the details of how the Bills match up with the Chiefs, we have an Allen stat that’s too good not to share. There are a lot of gaudy numbers, but in a historical context, Allen’s 2021 season is one of the best rushing years in NFL history. The Athletic’s Aaron Reiss dug deep into the numbers on TruMedia and found an excellent morsel of information. “Among players with at least 120 carries in a season, including the playoffs, Allen’s rushing success rate of 61.3 percent is fourth best since at least 2000. The four players ahead of him are all quarterbacks: Michael Vick in 2004, Robert Griffin III in 2012 and Cam Newton in 2011.” To be mentioned in the same sentence as Vick in his Madden cover year is rarefied air. Combined with Allen’s passing prowess, no other team in the league is getting the level of multi-purpose quarterbacking that he provides. And to apply that to this matchup, the Chiefs had the second-worst expected points added total against quarterback rushes in the regular season. The last time the teams played, Allen rushed for 59 yards on 11 carries, and three of those were kneeldowns for a 1 -yard loss.

On the Pat McAfee show today one of the cohosts asked Allen about his speed and claimed he clocked Allen unofficially at 4.42 during a game. I have no clue what his methodology is, but that legitimately seems like Allen’s speed, doesn't it? And Allen also said that ironically as he's gotten older and picked up weight (he said his playing weight is 245), he's gotten faster and more athletic. Crazy stuff. My bad... I see it's been mentioned

Divisional Round: Buffalo at KC Sunday at 6:30
transplantbillsfan replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just remember a month or two ago Allen saying he would prefer not to run all the time in order to prevent injury. I don't have the exact quote, but I think it's in the back of his mind... and that might be because the coaches have put it in his mind... I dunno. That said, I do think after that a switch went off in his brain that he was being too careful about not running. That's probably part of why he was the 7th leading rusher in the league in the last month or so of the season. -

I don't think it does, but I agree it's quite possible. We're gonna have a new OC next year... I'll be curious to see the approach. I'm still assuming it's Dorsey, who would likely take the same approach. -

Most impressive throw of Allen’s career is still that TD pass to Diggs last year against the Patriots where he evaded pressure, rolled left and threw a 30+ yard dart moving left with defenders barreling in on him. -

Anyone else think that pretty much every one of those Josh Allen throws is better than every one of those Mahomes' throws?
