  1. Why? This is such a doomsday perspective. We've already upgraded our OL. James Cook >>>> Devin Singletary Plus Hines and Harris get mixed in the running game. Our WR corps still has the same 2 guys at the top in Diggs and Davis. Harty is probably an upgrade over McKenzie. Shakir has a year under his belt. And Sherfield can actually play on offense. Plus we still have the draft. And Dorsey has a year's worth of experience as an OC. Your post makes zero sense.
  2. I'll get behind this if we do it (for a reasonable price), but am I the only thinking he's not ideal? He's gonna be 31 this season. So what... we get 2 possibly good years out of him and pay him a boatload of cash? And I'm sure it's been talked about, but how's Diggs handling this? I think it would work out if we got him and we'd immediately have the best WR corps in the NFL, but it just doesn't match the whole team building mantra McBeane have pushed. I'd prefer trading for Jerry Jeudy or trading up for JSN if we're trading anything away.
  3. Good signing. Sherfield was pretty good with the Phins.
  4. Can't this thread just be merged with the other Jeudy one? But yes. Clearly you do it
  5. He is. I like him. But don't pay him. Cook is better. If the market dries out and he'll come back for an AAV less than $5 mil, pay him.
  6. When Edmunds said he was going to test the market I thought more and more that Poyer would be back. And I love it! As far as the vocal/emotional/heart and soul leader of not just the defense but the entire team, Poyer is more important than Edmunds. And let's remember that he’s just 1 year removed from an All-Pro season. He hasn't been an injury prone player over his career... just last year. 23 & 21 back at it!!! Anyone know the contract details? OP could you post them on page 1?
  7. More proof Diggs isn't going anywhere
  8. Joe Marino liked it, too. As for the Saffold thing... most would agree that Saffold was pretty good before this year, so you might be right about the "puff video," but that wouldn't necessarily be an indictment so much on Cover 1 as Saffold's free fall this season. Are you sure this isn't just an ego driven post trying to slam others who do what you do?
  9. Erik Turner at Cover 1 likes him
  10. This idea of hiding contracts ignores what happens in year 2 or year 3 of said contract. If we haven't retained Edmunds at what would have been a minimum $8 or $9 million CAP hit, using that money on one of the highest impact players on your defense over the last 5 or 6 years and biggest locker room guys might not be unwise. I'm not predicting it happens, but if Edmunds walks, I'll be happy if it happens. Safety is INCREDIBLY important in McDermott's defenses.
  11. Not gonna lie, if Edmunds is gone, I want Poyer back. Make it a 2 year deal. Dude was still playing at such a high level this season even with 6 injuries. He has an entire offseason to heal up. If I could choose between Edmunds or Poyer I'd bring Edmunds back, but that doesn't look like it's happening and honestly his pricetag and lack of impact plays just makes me hesitate. Poyer, on the other hand, is the vocal heart and soul of the defense and played really well in 2022 despite all the injuries and being without his running mate. Why not? Bring him back.
  12. Only...? Considering the number of 1 yard TD runs and 3rd and shorts that's pretty incredible
  13. Isn't Tremaine still on the team and FA over a week away? Have we heard a bad word out of McBeane about him. Not saying it happens, but I think it's premature to pretend we can't retain Edmunds if we really want to, especially considering his age. Make it a 6 year deal and frontload it with a big signing bonus. Makes the CAP hit this year 7-9 million, which doesn't hurt the team in terms of FA for other positions and keeps a player we drafted and developed, which is a big McBeane philosophy.
  14. Tommy Doyle has the potential to come back as the swing tackle. He also might compete at Guard. I'm not saying don't sign anyone. We need to based on sheer numbers. We just aren't using a 1st round pick on one. Yes. And also Josh Allen. And Tremaine Edmunds. And Groot. Every GM misses. Even the great ones. Howie Roseman passed on Justin Jefferson for Jaelan Raeger.
  15. Extremely new to the position. Back injury setback. Think Josh Allen but at Right Tackle and with an unfortunate offseason injury after his rookie year. But even more raw than Allen. Competition is fine. Just don't wate a top pick on a RT. McBeane believes in Spencer Brown. I think this is his breakout season
  16. Spencer Brown is one of the most athletic players in the entire NFL. He's incredibly physically gifted. So many things might have factored into his play this season, including missing much of the offseason with a back injury. I'm content going into this year with him as our entrenched starting RT for another season. Get some veteran depth behind him.
  17. Some news!!!! Finally!!!
  18. Nope. Haven't forgotten that. But he's consistently been one of the main problems in our last game of the season for 4 consecutive years. I think Joe Marino captures the "we're grateful to Leslie Frazier, but time to move on" sentiment
  19. I love bringing him in as a backup, mainly because I live in Hawaii and suddenly the Bills would be in the news and on TV consistently (though honestly they were this past season, anyway) and there would suddenly be a bunch of Bills fans out here. He'd be a great backup and should be cheap.
  20. Good. This is the classy way to go about things. Sorry for any Frazier defenders but our last 2 Postseason losses have really soured me on Frazier as a Sunday big game gameplanner. The defensive gameplan against the Bengals was absolutely criminal. McDermott or Babbich or the new guy we just brought in from Carolina all seem like good replacements.
  21. Marino had a HOF coach at the tail end of his career and very little Elite talent surrounding him. If I were to compare 90s vs now Bills. Allen, Diggs, and Knox (though not by much over Metzelars) get the edge. 90s Bills had an OL I'd drool over today. Thurman and Kenny Davis were obviously far superior to what we currently have. Any wonder that our focal point for discussion has been WR (can you imagine us tracaliber? or aquiring a WR of James Lofton's calibre?), OL, and RB? I just don't care about defense anymore. Does defense even matter anymore? I'd love to see McDermott more hands on next season. Andy Reid showed he's a brilliant enough offensive coach that he could scheme an offense with Mahomes, Kelce and a buncha JAGs. It'd be awesome if McDermott could figure out how to do the same with the Defense (especially if Tremaine walks) while investing heavily in offensive talent in FA and the draft.
