Chance of Playoffs now, according to NYT simulator
transplantbillsfan replied to Ray Stonada's topic in The Stadium Wall
Our percentage went up from 14% to 20% with the Pittsburgh loss -
I don't know... the players on the whole might really like McDermott as a coach and view this as a hit job. They might also believe he's a very good man (which he seems to be) and be even more offended by an article that gets incredibly personal in its attacks of him. It'll be interesting how the team responds.

So your disappointment is in their current choice with Von or with their past choice in Araiza or with their current decision to not issue a formal public apology towards Araiza? If it's their choice with Von, maybe they learned from their Araiza mistake. If it's their choice with Araiza, yep, it was a mistake. But you can understand their decision even if you don't agree with it based on the ugliness of the accusation. If it's their current decision not to issue a formal public apology towards Araiza. Really? Is there any precedent of a team doing something like this in this situation? It's not like Beane's decision ruined the kid's life.

Addressing the "Josh Allen is TO machine" narrative
transplantbillsfan replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes... but how many egregious interceptions has Josh actually had this year? I'm talking interceptions that were just terrible decision making and/or terrible throw? 5? 6 at most? Hail Mary INT vs. the Eagles certainly doesn't count. Gabe Davis's drop vs. the Broncos in the Red Zone turned INT doesn't count. The bomb he threw to Diggs near the goal line earlier this season (Jags???) wasn't a great throw, but it wasn't a bad throw. It was in Diggs's hands... he just didn't fight to hold onto the ball like he normally does. The sheer number of dropbacks Allen has had to pass should probably also be taken into consideration. Allen has the 4th most passing attempts in the NFL. 3 of those QBs ahead of Allen also have double digit INTs. If the plays Allen scrambled on were taken into consideration, he probably jumps to #2 or #3 in terms of dropbacks in 2023. Allen could be better when it comes to Interceptions, but the narrative nationally of him regarding his turnovers is pretty unfair. -
I hope Zach Wilson looks like the 2nd coming of Rodgers for the rest of the season and does us a favor beating the Texans, Dolphins and Browns. Won't hold my breath, though.

Addressing the "Josh Allen is TO machine" narrative
transplantbillsfan replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Now do 2023 alone. I was listening to the Locked On Podcast from yesterday with Joe Marino, who had Nate Geary on as a guest. Anyone not familiar with Geary... dude knows his stuff. Geary said that Josh Allen (as of yesterday) has the 2nd best TD:TO ratio in 2023 and it's pretty much ignored by everyone. You did the math since 2018. Do the math for this year alone. Pretty much shatters your narrative as far as 2023 goes. -
It’s Chiefs week - and the season is on the line
transplantbillsfan replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
First Things First showed footage of a Buffalo Bills practice today and it was dated 12/5, which is today. I didn't see any other reports regarding practice, but usually on a bye week I thought you'd plan for 1 extra practice. -
If Buffalo is able to get into the playoffs, they'll be the most dangerous team in there. And that's even if the Bills sneak in going 4-1. I can absolutely see the Bills winning out, but our schedule is just a lot tougher to end the season than it was in 2021. However, this late bye week was a bit of a gift. If Buffalo is able to win the next 2 games, Bills fans should rejoice. If we win 1 of the next 2, but the loss is competitive and similar to something like the Eagles loss, Bills fans can still hope. If we lose the next 2, it's draft talk time.

Game thread: MNF Cincinnati at Jacksonville
transplantbillsfan replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bengals won and the Jags starting QB got a fairly serious injury that will almost certainly keep him out at least 1 or 2 games. It sets up a scenario where the Jags could lose more than they win over the next 5. The Bengals have a really tough schedule to end the year with the Colts, Vikings, Steelers, Chiefs and Browns. Not worried about them winning out with Jake Browning at QB with that schedule. I disagree. I played with the playoff machine and there are a bunch of scenarios with the Bills making the playoffs with 1 loss. Yes, it relies on other teams to lose. But those losses are entirely possible. And there are several possibilities. -

Except the NFL doesn't work this way. Teams lose all the time that shouldn't. Take a look at Buffalo all year. Take a look at Pittsburgh on Sunday. Take a look at the Jags last night. There will be upsets. Just as an example, the Tennessee Titans play the Texans twice, the Dolphins once, and the Jags once along with the Seahawks. I be that as you wrote in your winners, you gave the Titans ZERO wins over the next 5 games. Now, rather than playing that "favorites," do you actually think the Titans are going 0-5 in the next 5 games? If you believe they will, we can throw down a friendly wager... because I highly doubt they don't win at least 1, but probably 2 of those remaining games... and not just based on the "resting starters" notion of the last game. If I had to guess I'd say they split with the Texans. I didn't take issue with your post all that much. Just don't call other people homers and expect them not to respond. -

@Scott7975 saying I was aggressive for no reason -
Mahomes is not the best player in the league this year. He's not the best QB in the league. He's not the best QB in his conference. I think I would accept arguments that QBs like Purdy and maybe Hurts and Tua are as good as Allen this year. Not Mahomes. NFL Not For Long Mahomes is a 1st ballot HOFer. But he's no longer the best QB in the NFL. Probably just a down year, but we'll see. Yeah helps when you have HOF talent all around you.

Game thread: MNF Cincinnati at Jacksonville
transplantbillsfan replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
No crap dude.... did you think any of us were looking at this through the lens of Buffalo losing 2 or more games???? Buffalo needs to win out or, at worst, lose 1. All of us get that. Any of our playoff dialogue assumes that. I'm not being a homer because I'm literally looking at best results for Buffalo winning out OR losing 1. And I will take a now 6-6 Jake Browning led Cincy win that generates an 8-4 CJ Beathard led Jags team with 5 games remaining. Sheesh. It's still Football season, Buffalo has one of the best QBs in the NFL, and they're 1 1/2 games out of a playoff spot with 3 teams in front of them now without their Franchise QB. I have an idea... try to have fun. -

It brings one team DOWN into the race is what it does while simultaneously knocking out their Franchise QB. There isn't a single team with a losing record remaining on the Bengals schedule. Stop being such a freaking Eeyore. It's tiresome. Anything can always happen, but are you putting money on Jake Browning going 4-1? Now suddenly next week's Jags vs Browns game almost doesn't matter to me as far as results go if Lawrence is out for the season. -

Geez are people complaining about the results of that game? I really, really hate being happy about injuries, but tonight was the 2nd best result the Bills could have hoped for. Lawrence's injury is another game changer. How many of those are we having this year? How much should we all truly appreciate our own QB? I wish they would have tied after the Lawrence injury, but those are uncommon. Guys, look at the Bengals schedule. Jake Browning at QB? They're losing at least 2 out of the remaining 5. Now the Jags come into play. Suddenly it's very possible they lose 3 maybe even 4 of their remaining 5. Hate injuries, but they happen... -
The bleak cap situation going forward
transplantbillsfan replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's actually courtesy of Greg Thompsett. Everyone in this thread go listen to the Greg Thompsett sports show from last week and you won't feel so bad. One thng he reveals is that a huge reason our CAP next year is so high is that we have 44 players under contract, which is way more than most of the NFL. -
First of all, it's really, really stupid to not count rushing TDs. Your logic would make sense on plays like the tush push or maybe even designed QB runs. But several of Allen's rushing TDs are on designed passing plays. Those aren't TDs you can argue in any way are being siphoned away from RBs. As for everything else, Allen still has the 2nd most passing TDs in the NFL (tied with Tua) and is blowing everyone else out of the water as far as total TDs go.

Yep... and KC lost today, too. I know some fans were weirdly rooting for KC, but this makes everything even more alive. -
Week 13 Rooting Interests
transplantbillsfan replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd just like to point out that ALMOST everything went our way today as far as the Wildcard contenders go. Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Denver all lost. Indy came back to win, unfortunately. But I think they also demonstrated they can lose a game to an "inferior" opponent fairly easily. -

No "but" for the Texans winning. They played the Broncos. Texans W was a better outcome. Too bad the Colts couldn't hang on. That was the only thing that didn't go our way as far as the WC race today. -
