Anthony Lynn vs. Tyrod

Really? I watched all the PCs from Sunday after the game and yesterday, too. I came away with a different impression. -
Anthony Lynn vs. Tyrod

I think the Bills are going to win. It's just the ebb and flow of the season. I'm expecting a strong response from Buffalo... but then I could easily see us getting blown out by KC. -
Danced all over like ants? I can't speak for anyone else, but I never once said Taylor IS a Franchise QB in that thread. I thought Taylor played really well against the Jets, but he absolutely sucked against the Saints along with the rest of the team and coaches. He's had too many of those ugly games (3) in comparison to the good games (6). I wanted more consistency and we aren't seeing it. We still have 7 more games. If 5 or 6 of our remaining games are good games and we end up in the playoffs, the narrative changes again. It's why I'm sick of this absolute need to call it before anyone else just to act like you're the first who said it. A lot of these people who are (rightfully) complaining about Taylor's play Sunday exaggerate it as singularly representative of him as a QB on the whole. Overreactions are annoying whether one week it's a "Taylor is a Franchise QB" or another week it's "Taylor is NOT a Franchise QB."

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Horrible
transplantbillsfan replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Funny from a guy who's looked up my posting history and incessantly criticized it. Probably because it's really easy to look up posting history and just scroll down looking at dates. Quick, count to 40. That's how long it took. probably not nearly as long as you looking through my posting history at BBMB, counting my Tyrod threads and calculating how much I post about him. that's awesome you're so busy. Too bad you're so much busier weeks we win and people are generally upbeat and celebrating here -

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Horrible
transplantbillsfan replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thurm, honest question here, why is it that your tendency is to consistently post a ton more when the bills lose than when they win? And that's not a hyperbolic statement. I just looked through your recent posting history to make sure of it. 40+ posts since the Jets game and "little here... little there" otherwise. Just strange. Hookers and blow celebrations every time we win? -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Horrible

I'm about to seriously geek out, but I really thought there was going to be a reference to Hamlet act 1 scene V with the Ghost's speech. I'm thinking the Kenneth Brannaugh version, in particular. -
Let me know what you come up with

Oh ****!!! Nice find! I was going to post Andy Dalton's 5 turnover 170 yards passing game but none of these are going to fly this week. Brotha I know you think I'm nothing more than a Tyrod homer, but I think you and I are basically looking at the same glass when it comes to him. It's just that I see that glass half full and you see it half empty

I know, that's the whole reason I asked the question in the first place. For me, I actually completely and 100% agree with GoBills808 right beneath your post. 5 years and 10 games a year. Why? Well, because at that point your team has clearly made a commitment to that QB. And I'd say a guy who is been with your team as the starter for half a decade is easily the franchise QB. That doesn't mean he's great. Andy Dalton and Joe Flacco our franchise QBs. And yes, I do still think there's a chance that Taylor is our franchise QB by that definition. And I think people are about to quibble with that phrasing, but I'll freeze it better, Taylor has a better chance of being our franchise QB then Peterman does. A much better chance. And I want to be very clear because I think people believe I would root against him: if I watch Peterman as the Bills starting QB, I will only want him to be successful. Probably because there are idiots who have to label everyone after every single game. People are just really, really dumb. i'm super excited to read what that post brings in terms of responses

Not really that simple and this thread isn't about Taylor sucking Sunday, it's about him sucking as a QB. Everything is just an overall overreaction. People need to stop with this one game as a definition nonsense. Taylor sucked Sunday. Who the hell said he didn't? What's generally annoying is the way people try to use singular games to paint an overall definitive picture of what Taylor is. By the time this season ends and we move into the offseason I expect (and have been on record expecting all along) that the Bills are going to draft a QB in the 1st round and maybe even trade up for a guy. And that guy will (hopefully) be our Franchise QB, not Taylor. That's what I expect. But I've also said that isn't set in stone in the minds at OBD and that Taylor had this year to prove that he could be the long term answer. He hasn't made the case for that and so as of right now I absolutely expect the Bills will draft a QB in the first and might even let Taylor walk without paying him that option. That's what I expect, but even though the trendy thing to do here is to speak so definitively about things that aren't set in stone (I've never been a trendy guy. I'm really behind in the trends... I still use a flip phone.), I'm not going to say that Taylor IS NOT the Franchise QB or that the Bills WILL draft a QB in the first or... because we still have 7 games in a season where we still (somehow) hold the #6 seed in the AFC and despite the fact that our Head Coach has probably his largest window at this moment to bench Taylor in favor of Peterman, McDermott has already stated multiple times without hesitation (watch the PCs... they're really without hesitation) that he believes in Taylor and that Taylor is our starter

Reading comprehension not your forte, eh? I admitted Taylor sucked against the Saints. He absolutely did. You've turned into a troll. Such a sad state of affairs. This definitely isn't a week I'll be on TBD because of all the likely trolling,. But I think I might have to start a little fun thread to lead up to next week's game... now's the perfect time for it Oh Crusher I missed you so much You probably won't be around much longer, but can we snuggle before you leave?

Awww you don't have time to read a longer post? Don't like actual discussion? Why? You need to get your post count up with all your little one-liners? Good for you. We joined at the same time and you have 4 times as many posts as me. You're winning!!! Wait, are you implying that Taylor now has the ability to audible in and out of plays and that Taylor is the one responsible for calling outside runs to Tolbert or 4th and 1 handoffs to Dimarco or handoffs to WRs who are immediately stuffed in the backfield? Yeah... didn't think so So pitiful the way some of you act like our OC and the play calling isn't a problem. I envision some escalating anger this week if posters like you who are usually just closet-case angry are out directing your anger openly and often all over the board. HULK MAAAAAAADDDD!!!! Win and play well in San Diego and the Saints game is quickly forgotten and we all become victims of that good moment rather than this $hi++y moment. But keep using this message board to direct your anger at all the invisible message board people. We're all pissed off and upset. Better directing it at us than real people

Did I exclude him? That was the worst game I've ever seen from the Bills in all respects I think, given what this team was doing before it and expectations. Dennison sucked with his ludicrous playcalling. Tyrod sucked with his throws short of the sticks and not pulling the trigger. Our OL sucked blocking in both the run and pass. Our DL had the most repugnant performance I think I've ever seen in my life. At one point the Saints ran 24 straight times. That's friggin ridiculous. And their runs were for 8-12 yards on every run during that stretch it felt. The secondary couldn't stop Michael Thomas from catching any football. The secondary couldn't stop Brees from converting 3rd and longs. Costly penalties. This was just disgusting. Everyone on the Bills should be disgusted. They all friggin sucked. I wasn't as worried after the Jets game because the NFL really is the Not For Long league and while one week the team can come out and absolutely suck against a team like Carolina they can follow that up with a great game against teams like Denver and Atlanta... only to follow that up with another stinker. That's why these momentary call-outs are just stupid. This is a thread about Taylor not being a Franchise QB pretty clearly in response to the thread that was up after the Jets game about him being a Franchise QB. That thread was up because Taylor was really good against the Jets. I don't think people should have concluded he was a Franchise QB after that game, though. Just like this game the other way. We have 7 games left and as much as yesterday !@#$ING SUCKED!!!! we're somehow the #6 seed and right there. Someone reading that sentence I just wrote was about to start typing that we're about to get blown out in LA to the Chargers. It's possible. But I think people speak too concretely about everything in the moment. Our weekly Tyrod discussion is inevitable. And I'll partake and even start some conversations. But you will not have found a single post from me that's ever said that I think Tyrod Taylor IS our Franchise QB. And I think we also need to have a conversation about what a Franchise QB is. I think some people use Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees as their definitions for "Franchise QB," which is just ridiculous. Those are 3 of the top 10 QBs probably in NFL history. Those guys can't be the benchmark. PS: If you truly think it's "Tyrod or nothing" for me, go back and look at my posts early in the offseason when there were reports that Brees might've been getting out of New Orleans. I woulda taken him at any cost.

Yep. I'm so disgusted. This was the first game I ever just stopped watching in the 3rd quarter. I haven't even looked at the stats but it felt like the Saints ran for 300 yards and 8+ yards per carry. And it was a problem from quarter 1 so anyone blaming anyone other than the D for this is idiotic. Everyone sucked, including Taylor. But our D was supposed to be good or even better than it was with Rex, but that's starting to look like a mirage.
-
And he was direct and hasty when he said it. Peterman isn't our future. Right now it's looking like whoever we draft in round 1 next year is.

Are you serious? It was an !@#$ question by the reporter. Response looked more directed at that !@#$ than anything.
