(Sarcasm) Tyrod's worst play.
transplantbillsfan replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That O'Leary pass definitely could have been better. It was one of the big reasons we didn't get that first down. At the same time, O'Leary could have got up and run for the first down or probably just rolled for a first down pretty easily. That said, I think people are really dumb when it comes to the Taylor scrutiny. He's doing what he's asked to do in an offensive system and with an OC who simply looks inept. Can anyone find a stat for "most negative plays on 1st and 2nd down in the NFL" this year or "most negative rushes in the NFL?" I bet we're right at the top, if not #1 for both. Dennison won't get fired this year, but I really hope McDermott fires him in the offseason and brings in McCoy, the guy he apparently wanted initially. In that game Taylor faced an average of 8 yards to go on 3rd down. That's considered a 3rd and long and Taylor converted 4 out of 11 of those 3rd and longs. That 36.4% conversion percentage yesterday on 3rd and long is the 4th highest conversion percentage in the entire NFL on 3rd and long. And Taylor faces waaaaaayyyy too many of those (tied for 2nd most in the entire NFL) thanks to some terribly predictable playcalling on first and 2nd down by Dennison. I actually read some posts by some idiotic people putting blame on Taylor for not getting a 1st down to run out the clock on our 2nd to last drive... as though it's his fault Dennison called 2 straight runs that got stuffed and then a QB draw. People are dumb. Taylor's a good QB who we'll try to upgrade on in the offseason. In the meantime, he's the guy helping us to win games as opposed to the guy last week who literally threw games away to the other team last week. -
Was this a meaningful late season win?

Every win is a good win when we're still this much in the playoff hunt. Obviously. -

I don't think you actually watch football. Being an Internet Troll must be your hobby. Bengals 2016 all over? What a joke Who really cares though... no one should take anything you say seriously at this point. Way to start a huge ridiculous mean-spirited call out bet and then handle your loss like a child. Bad form!

Wow super lame. Can't even live up to your own bet for one hour. Nice display of a lack of integrity

Fitzy can't say anything bad about our QBs for a week :neener: Whoop whoop!!!

Tyrod to start vs Chiefs

Awesome! I hope you're right! We will almost certainly be drafting one of those six guys that you just put up. Can't wait! -
Bills clueless about Tyrod Taylor article

It's too bad you just keep on shifting your argument Thurm. It's like you're chasing your own tail or something. We've had this conversation enough where it's pretty easy to remember that it was always about frequency throwing to the deep middle. It was frequency that you stressed. And suddenly as you see that Taylor is comparable to one of the better NFL QBs (and question, what are the numbers of all of the other NFL QBs to the deep middle if you're saying Wilson throws there less than most? Have you done the work? Can't wait to read it!) you suddenly bring in how ineffective he is. And you say you lump the two together because Taylor has a history of both. Well as far as the intermediate middle goes, he's been improving on it since his first year as a starter and is significantly improved right now. And he throws their relatively frequently and incredibly effectively. So you talk your bubbles about the deep middle, leave the poor now innocent intermediate middle out of it -

I didn't respond to everything because why bother if you're just playing a rhetorical game rather than actually talking football? As for deep and intermediate, why do you still lump the 2 together? Honestly, it's a weird stubborn obsession you have doing that. Intermediate middle is no longer a problem. And that was the biggest legitimate worry because the vaaAAAaaaassst majority of NFL throws are less than 20 yards and the chain moving money maker throws are those 10-20 yard throws. And the most difficult ones are that middle portion less than 20 yards where you're dealing with all the traffic. He has a passer rating above 143 throwing there (league average is low 80s) and he's thrown almost 20 passes, 2 TDs and zero interceptions to the intermediate middle portion of the field. That's A LOT more than the last couple years. He improved from 2015 to 2016 but his leap from 2016 to 2017 is noticeable and significant. As for the deep middle. It still doesn't matter, but Taylor's thrown 1.1% of his passes there. Russell Wilson's thrown 2.1% of his passes there. Whoopdy doooo -

Whatever you say Thurm. Typical approach by you. Avoid actual discussion by sticking with weird semantics. Ready to talk yet about how improved Taylor is over the intermediate middle portion of the field yet? -
So I know this was a troll job, but are you taking your own bet up or are you that incapable of speaking positively about Taylor for the week if he passes for over 130 yards (which he will) and we win (which we might)?

Can you give me the 3 who are obviously upgrades on Taylor? -
Wow... you actually did this for that game?!?! I have to ask why? Was it primarily to see if the players quit. If not... good... I guess...? Anyway, it really was a fantastic job. I think the comments about Taylor standing between us and the 1st and 2nd pick is a mixed bag considering the waffling our coach is doing. Thanks for the work! But whyyyyyy?!

How many wins rest of season?
transplantbillsfan replied to Jasovon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just come ask for some in a month and a half when it happens -
Oh no, you're mistaken. Go back and look at all of my posts over the summer regarding Peterman. I never thought the kid had it. My concern was and is and has always been his arm strength. He has a weak arm but a gunslinger's mentality. I think Hyde's moniker of Nate Favre might've been perfect for him because he looks to be half of what Brett Favre was, but it's the half that made him throw the most interceptions in NFL history. Peterman is missing the talented half of Favre that made up for that gunslinger's mentality... that good ole rocket arm. I went into that game last week really thinking and or hoping I was completely wrong and that the coaches knew what the hell they were doing by putting the best QB in. Instead, I saw the worst football by a QB I've ever seen. Besides, we're not just talking about a bad half of football by a QB. We are talking about the worst half of football by a QB in probably the last half a century in a very cute be friendly era with the guy who's biggest strength coming out of college was that he was the most "pro ready" QB of the draft. I will root for him if he gets back in the game and absolutely 100% hope he proves me wrong because I'm a Bills fan. But I highly highly highly highly highly doubt it.

Even if "only" 4 were on him, he threw another pass to the right sideline that should have been a pick-6 but was dropped. And he botched a snap that he had his hands at his sides for that could have been another turnover. 8 drives 5 turnovers 2 3 & outs 1 TD... thank you Shady! Peterman was so awful that it's a good thing. Movin on...

6 baby!!! We're going 11-5 and stealing the division!!! -
Yes, I can't prophesize but sure let's say I'm 99% confident that kid won't make it beyond being the long term backup other than the few games he might get to end the season. And are you seriously bringing up the WR corps as an excuse for Peterman?! Sheesh... you guys are just full of double standards Well at least Taylor didn't have negative NET yards and negative NET points contributing to a 30 point halftime deficit Well, at least your fantasy land has music. Hope that's a good tune you're hearing there
