So because we released a CB who hasn't been healthy or Elite for 3 years, a Safety who is clearly on the decline, a Special Teams Ace who is clearly on the decline, a WR/PR who never remotely lived up to his expectations or contract, a RB/PR who... same thing, and our starting Center who was still good, but old... our window is closed???? I think if anything this might show that Beane and McDermott are looking at this team and trying to ignite new life in it THIS year!!! Those 11 draft picks we have sure will help. Super Bowl!!!!

There is also a financial component to taking Coleman in the 1st round if you're willing to trade down to the top of the 2nd to get him that Beane might be considering. That 5th year option for a WR might matter here.

Wow... that's interesting. Dude's a starting caliber Guard. It'd be really nice if Tommy Doyle could come back healthy, but not counting on that. Let's hope Alec Anderson has developed into a Bates level backup and can play Center at least adequately.

So I'm not saying I'm an advocate for drafting Keon Coleman in the 1st or anything, but I think way too much is being made of his 40 time at the Combine. I realize all I'm going by is highlights, but his play speed looks plenty fine to me. First play at 18 seconds shows him plenty fast and elusive enough. Play at 1:51 looks like a guy with more agility and route running than Gabe. The next play (that you see from the All-22 at 2:10) shows pretty good route running ability along with the speed to separate from the defender. At 2:41 you see him used in a Bubble Screen with enough speed and agility to get away from the defender and get into the EZ. Watch his Punt return at 3:00 and tell me that a guy at that size returning a punt like that isn't impressive. Another effective Bubble Screen at 1:03 Effective WR screen behind the LOS at 1:30 I'm going to stop there. I've been listening to a lot of sports podcasts lately that aren't just Bills ones. Move the Sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks. First Draft with Field Yates and Mel Kiper Jr. The Athletic Football Podcast with Nate Tice and (sometimes) Dane Brugler. What you hear a lot about the scouting process is the phrase "grade the flashes." Basically, grade those players in their best moments. Keon Coleman in his best moments looks like a 1st round WR, to me. All that said, I do think his draft stock is down after the 40 time, so if we drafted Coleman, what I'd like to see us do is actually trade DOWN into the top of the 2nd and acquire more draft picks and use those other draft picks to slingshot up for more picks in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round because there's supposed to be a significant drop off in talent after the middle rounds.

The gauntlet is much more representative of "in game GPS speed," don't you think? Coleman and McConkey were 2 of the best performers in that drill. Let's also remember that Puka Nakua's 40 time last year was 4.57 and Kyren Williams' 40 time 2 years ago was a 4.65. Both of those guys were studs for the Rams.

So stupid. Extend. Dude was a top 10 LT this year. Plus OL chemistry. Keep the starting 5 together. I wouldn't even be shocked if we extend Morse another year.

This is an awesome move! He was a backup and we were overpaying for him. Now we clear up over $3m in CAP space for a guy who played possibly a handful of snaps last season and no meaningful ones. As Sal Capacio said, Alec Anderson fills a similar role, has a full year in the system and is millions cheaper. I definitely think this ups the potential for a Center in the first few rounds, but with 11 picks now I think it would be negligence if we didn't draft a center. This draft is going to be super interesting. I've heard from some of the experts that this is a very top heavy draft in the sense that after rounds 3 or 4 the talent drops off a cliff. I expect Buffalo to make 5-7 picks in the first 4 rounds. I hope they all hit! Gonna be a fun draft!

Oh... well if they met at the Senior Bowl then obviously the Bills interviewed him... so the entire notion of him being off the table for us is out the window.

I'm confused. Has it been confirmed that the Bills did NOT meet with McConkey? Can't remember which podcast I was listening to, but I think it was Daniel Jeremiah who said that every NFL team has 75 interviews at the Combine, but only about 1/3rd of them are released publicly. So again, has it been confirmed we have NOT met with McConkey???

If we stay at 28, I will be extremely happy with Thomas Jr or Mitchell. I'll be happy with Worthy, Franklin, Legette, McConkey or even Coleman (yes, despite the 40 time... he was great in drills). That's a lot of players. And frankly, I'm not going to be remotely surprised if we don't draft at 28, trade back, and slingshot to get any one of those 7 players along with an impact defensive player. Or we very likely could also just draft defense in round 1 and see if any of those players fall in round 2, which they might. And then you double dip with Roman Wilson, Malachi Coreley, Brendan Rice, Javon Baker, Ricky Pearsal, etc. in the middle rounds. This draft is deeeeeep... get 2

2 things: 1) There is NO WAY we are trading up into the top 10 this year!!! This team is too CAP strapped and needs to get AT LEAST 4 or 5 major contributors long term out of this draft. 2) There is NO WAY we are using ALL 10 of our draft picks!!! Beane will 100% be making deals on our draft days. That said, anything more than a move into the late teens is too expensive. Right now I think we only trade up for 2 players: Brian Thomas Jr or Adonai Mitchell. No way Nabers or Odunze fall to the late teens. Otherwise stay in place and get Worthy/Legette/McConkey/Coleman or whoever McBeane decides on.

Please just let them make the tourney so I can get my March sports fix!!!

Is he really a true slot, though??? That WR looks like a dude!!! Looks like Deebo in the way he plays. He trucks CBs consistently. Google lists him at 5'11, 210 lbs with a 4.43 40 yard dash. We'll discover this all more in depth on Saturday, but if that's accurate, why is that a true slot? And frankly, if we drafted him, a lot of people thought Shakir could eventually replace Diggs. I think the modern NFL is moving beyond the traditional X, Z, and Y receiver, don't you? We have a new OC... maybe he really prefers 2 "slot" guys. Maybe even 3????

So I don't watch College Football... like at ALL!!! That said, I just watched YouTube highlights of Brian Thomas Jr., Keon Coleman, Troy Franklin and Malachi Corely. They're highlights and I understand what that means. That said, in watching those highlights, the players I most want to see in Buffalo because I believe they are the modern NFL are, in this order: 1) Keon Coleman T-2 Malachi Corley T-2 Troy Franklin 4) Brian Thomas Jr. Coleman, to me, is a step above Franklin and Corley just from watching the highlights. In reading scouting reports of him, I thought he'd be a big slug who couldn't separate. Doesn't look that way to me. Dude is elusive and even returned punts in college. I honestly only watched Corley because of the recent buzz and the fact that in Kiper's latest "First Draft" podcast, he said Corley was the guy he really wanted to put in the 1st round. I see why. Dude's a BEAST!!! My only issue with drafting him is I wonder if it maximizes his skillset playing with Josh ... Which is actually why Corley and Franklin tied to me. I think Franklin is PERFECT in terms of this offense and what it needs outside of Diggs and Shakir. I am impressed with Brian Thomas Jr's speed and downfield tracking... but that was like all I saw from him. I also understand that playing with Nabers he always got the opponent's #2 corner. So is he just a one trick pony up against inferior competition or is he really that good with the full route tree in his back pocket... just never needed it????

I posted this in another thread, but with the amount of void years the Bills are adding to contracts and our salary cap constraints this year and moving forward, can one of our resident CAP experts please explain Void years??? We just restructured Conner McGovern's contract and added 2 void years at the end of his contract. This means that even though his contract expires at the end of 2025, there will still be dead cap money for 2 more years. So does this basically just provide extra motivation to extend him for 2 more seasons beyond 2025? And if we do that, does that basically just mean the void years we just put in his contract don't end up impacting the team at all? Then as a follow up question, when we signed Leonard Floyd last offseason, it was reported that there was a void year (I think just one) that we added into the deal. According to Spotrac, Floyd has a dead cap hit THIS YEAR of $4,376,250. Now... IF that is correct regarding the Floyd deal AND my thoughts about extending a player who has void years would be beneficial in terms of the CAP, wouldn't it be wise to just sign him to another deal for next year since you're already paying him over $4m??? Even if Floyd goes out in the market and gets an offer of $10m on a one year deal from a team, the Bills could technically offer him the exact same deal and pay less than $6m in new money, correct??? Anyone with an understanding of the void years thing??? An explanation would be much appreciated

Why is this such a popular thread right now??? We aren't cutting Knox. We aren't trading Knox. Most likely scenario is actually that we restructure his contract and he's locked into the Bills for closer to the duration of the deal.
