  1. I don't think Von wins DPOY, but I actually think the "Von is over-the-hill" narrative is head-scratching. Throw out his play from last season. History says that players take more than a full calendar year to fully recover from an ACL tear and often closer to 2 full calendar years to round back into form. We saw that happen with Tre White and it happens time and time again with players in the NFL. So the only argument regarding Von is his age. @GunnerBill said this offseason that Von is washed and he thinks there's something like a 5% chance Von has any impact on the team this year. That's really the way almost everyone feels. He's a complete afterthought. Do you guys not remember how Von was playing up until that Thanksgiving game in 2022???? It's not like he showed any signs of age whatsoever. The guy had 8 sacks in 11 games and was still a game-wrecker. Didn't look like a 33 year old pass rusher in any way. We know he works. We know he wants to win. And we know he believes in himself. I think Von is going to have a very productive season this year. He may not get double digit sacks, but as a DPR I could absolutely see him getting 6-10 sacks.
  2. I said if no more spending. Can add in the Practice Squad money, which is at most $1 or $2 million, if that. Still leaves us over $20m. And again... I said if no more moves and we roll over the money we don't spend into next year. If we spend ALL our Tre White money and our remaining CAP, we'll still have $14m in CAP space plus the $8.5m if we cut Von with only Spencer Brown as our in-house remaining "big" UFA.
  3. Anyone complaining about CAP space next year... Overthecap projects us at $14m next season. If Buffalo rolls over the Tre White extension without doing anything with it next month minus paying the rookie class we get about $9m. Plus everyone thinks we're cutting Von next offseason... if we do we get $8.5m in CAP savings. Over $31m in CAP space right there. Plus... could still easily restructure Oliver, Taron and Josh for a lot more money. And as far as FA go... the big one is really only Spencer Brown. Beane has set this team up for the future!
  4. And Josh has 2 1/2 more seasons worth of starts (41 games) than Burrow.
  5. https://fox4kc.com/sports/chiefs/chiefs-worthy-exits-early-rookies-impress-in-first-day-of-minicamp/amp/ Chiefs’ Worthy exits early, rookies impress in first day of minicamp The Kansas City Chiefs’ 2024 first-round pick did not finish his first practice as a pro. In the latter half of practice during a play during the team session, wide receiver Xavier Worthy ran a go route and attempted to stretch for the ball. After the play, Worthy stretched his left leg before walking gingerly to the sideline. He took his helmet off but later put it back on after taking a drink and talking with trainers and coaches. Worthy jogged to certain spots throughout the rest of practice but did not take another rep. It was the end of the day for the 28th overall pick.
  6. Shaw... was arguing the Bills would be better next year before this draft even happened... so obviously, I agree with you. To me, the national media is somehow gifting Buffalo the underdog mentality, which baffles my mind... but I think we take it and run with it.

  8. Interesting conversation. Let's be honest @KDIGGZ and his cohort will be negative about anything. Coleman reportedly ran the 2nd fastest speed on a go route (along with the fastest gauntlet drill of at least the last 2 drafts) at 21.71 mph. I don't know math like @oldmanfan, but a quick Google search tells me a it would be 18.18 mph to run 4.5 seconds in a flying 40. Maybe Coleman just didn't prepare to run the way a lot of guys do for the Combine. It's a Combine specific event... not like they'll ever do that again. Dude's not slow. Watch him return punts. So young and so much untapped potential. I think it's amazing how much his 40 time dropped his draft stock. Lucky for Buffalo, we hope.
  9. No there isn't
  10. Not only this, Sal Capaccio reported on his podcast that Josh was on a retreat somewhere with the WRs and TEs. So it's already happening... and it's likely always been happening more than people think... and people are idiots.
  11. FWIW, Soloman is Bruce Feldman's favorite value pick in the 5th round
  12. Dude... Isabella or Hamler would be at best the 4th WR in something resembling the McKenzie role. Our top 3 is Shakir, Samuel and Coleman. I think that starting trio is much better than what people think it will be as those 3 skillsets complement each other very well. The Diggs role may be downgraded from last season (though I really am excited to see what Brady has in store for Samuel) but the Davis role I view as a significant upgrade and it's year 3 for Shakir and now he gets the chance to hit the ground running in week 1. And our WR depth is better.
  13. So after the draft I believe we've filled out our roster pretty nicely. Everyone is absolutely freaking out about our WR corps, but I think we've underestimated the likelihood that Brady has some planned role in this offense for Hamler or Isabella... whoever wins that 2-way competition. Those 2 guys are basically the exact player that would complement the drafting of Coleman. And Justin Shorter still lurks at the bottom of our depth chart as that sneaky 5th round contributor Beane is known to draft.

  15. I don't exactly know if by "rebuild year" you mean that as a negative thing, though based on your tone it seems so. Of course they're rebuilding. We knew that on Black Wednesday. But rebuilding with an Elite QB and a bunch of other already established young talent on the team (Cook, Kincaid, Dawkins, Cybo, Groot, Milano, TB, Benford, Shakir, etc.) and some well established vets like Daquan, Von and Douglas doesn't mean this team isn't contending. You guys are all nuts. Buffalo is winning at least as many games in 2024 as 2023.
  16. Greg Cosell put Franklin and Walker in the same bucket but said Tez has more upside... mainly because of the extra 20 lbs
  17. We just drafted a better and smoother version of Sutton at 33 in Keon Coleman. That according to Anthony the film dude at Cover 1

  19. A lot of people here were clamoring for trading for Courtland Sutton. Greg Cosell was on One Bills Live tonight with his Instant Reaction. Brownie asked about the Courtland Sutton comparison that's been out there. Cosell said Coleman is smoother than Sutton and obviously with better hands.
  20. Man... this thread reminds me so much of the thread when we drafted Allen. I say that being one of the posters adamantly against drafting Allen. I think Coleman proves everyone wrong. Does this look like a guy who lacks in-game athleticism?
  21. It's okay Hap. I'm with you... and unlike Josh Allen, I can legitimately say I liked Coleman and didn't understand the hate before the draft. That said, I am also nervous.
  22. Probably posted already, but if not...
  23. @HappyDays seemed to really have a premonition with all his Coleman talk today. Going back to my first view of him, I really liked him. He was kind of an odd faller. Seems like he would have been a mid 1st round pick if not for his 40 time. All this talk of him being like Kelvin Benjamin is ridiculous. Watch him return punts for the Seminoles. Plus there's the gauntlet drill. Buffalo clearly coveted this guy and knew he'd fall a bit. Perfect fit in the sense that we don't have anyone like him.
  24. I'm low key on the Coleman train myself. I really feel like his 40 time was just a horrible grenade that exploded his offseason. He just doesn't look that slow. And I was super impressed with his YAC ability. I feel the same way about Franklin in terms of how unwarranted their precipitous fall after the Combine was. I wonder if the Bills trade back a fee again just because they view 4 or 5 WRs with the same grade. I would be really surprised if we didn't pick WR with our next pick, though. As high as the draft world is on guys like Newton and DeJean, we just passed on them twice.
