Yea, except some of the time, the QB has little to do with the team winning. Dilfer, Hostetler, McMahon, Flacco, Rypien, and the king among peasants and worst QB to ever win multiple championships: Terry Bradshaw.

What years? I think he had top 5-10 numbers for a good chunk of his career, but I dont remember him ever scaring a team the way a lot of other QBs have. This is of course completely ignoring his team was stacked to the gills.

Elway was probably the best pure QB in history before Brady and Manning showed up. Young might be one of the top 3 most overrated QBs ever. Im not even certain he deserved the Hall compared to what so many other QBs did, but it's easy for QBs to get in.

Kelly has no business on that list and Bradshaw and Aikman are extremely overrated. Favre way too high, Brees WAY too low. That's just retarded. Otto Graham went to a championship every single year he was in the league, winning 7. You can't judge him by modern standards any more than you can a '69 stingray. He's one of the most elite QBs of all time because he demolished everyone he played against.

I will absolutely blame Bean if he fails or is worse than Rosen/Rudolph, and McDermott gets the blame if he isn't better than Watson/Mahomes, which I think is a near certainty based on Watson alone. They gave up a tremendous amount of capital to get this kid going back to last year, and he'll have to be better at the highest level of football than he was at any point in his life. I think it's far more likely this sets our rebuild back 3-5 years. If Beane doesn't immediately course correct when he flops, it should cost him his job.

I think it's McCarron's job to lose, but I also think Peterman is going to light it up in camp and he'll get a look as a week one starter with McCarron coming in week 2.

My money's on it being the opposite - too little training of ligaments and small muscle groups. These guys tend to hit the weight room like crazy, but if your muscles are far stronger than your tendons and ligaments, it's going to be bad when you start to push those things at full speed. You bet your ass I'd be doing yoga daily if I was a pro ball player.

Fred. I loved watching Thurman play. He was an elite talent, but there was something special about Fred. He didn't have any elite athletic traits, but his vision, and most notably his balance were elite tier. The guy did it all on a team that gave him nothing in return. He and Stevie could have been modern day heroes if we ever had a QB.

There's no move to be made. She's never been qualified and still isn't. That doesn't mean she has to run around knocking over faberge eggs and lawyering up to rip up contracts.

2 firsts is easily in the ballpark for a hot QB prospect. That said, I don't think he has a shot of living up to his draft status, but hopefully I'm wrong.

That's not at all what happened, though. I'm 90% certain that the McDermott hire had next to nothing to do with Whaley being canned. WHaley was done as soon as the previous season ended, but he had years of research and prep done on the draft by that point. You can't bring in a new GM who hasn't picked or established any trust with the scouts and expect them to have any sort of success in the draft. The smart move is always firing the GM right after the draft.

I would sooner they start AJ & Peterman this year to decide which to keep moving forward. Then next year they can draft a mid/late round QB and let the 3 of them have at it.

Oh, I don't know him at all. Did some research after this was announced, but mostly came up empty. 3 year college player with a transfer to New Mexico sheet his freshman year, but still never really played. Only has a handful of games played in college. Elway took a look at him after the 2017 draft, but passed. He then proceeded to sign with the Blue Bombers but was released after the first preseason game with a bunch of other players. Hit 61mph at his pro day, which would have been a combine record if invited, but has around 52% completion percentage over only around 100 college attempts. My take is that he's never really shown anything to indicate he has any type of pro football future, but who knows?

Apparently this kid threw 61 MPH at his pro day. BUT, 3 year backup and got cut after his first CFL pre-season game. Not quite sure what Beane thinks could be there. It's pretty clear that they're searching for an Uncle Rico.
