The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Buffalo_Gal replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Why is anything still closed down in NYS? A less than 1% positive rate on testing (the last time more than 800 people tested positive in a day was the beginning of June!!!) Amount of people tested is between 55K and 80K people per day. Here it is by region. Cuomo is a horrible human being. This truly is madness. -
I do not think it is defending him, it is simply that there is a huge difference between an underage child and consenting adult.

Highlighted because I have already seen the Democrats and lefties on twitter try and say the exact opposite. Senate Intelligence Committee releases final report on 2016 Russian interference </snip> In a statement, Senator Marco Rubio, the committee's acting chairman, said investigators "found absolutely no evidence that then-candidate Donald Trump or his campaign colluded with the Russian government to meddle in the 2016 election." "What the Committee did find however is very troubling," he said. "We found irrefutable evidence of Russian meddling. And we discovered deeply troubling actions taken by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, particularly their acceptance and willingness to rely on the 'Steele Dossier' without verifying its methodology or sourcing." </snip>

AP FACT CHECK: Michelle Obama and the kids in ‘cages’ </snip> At the height of the controversy over Trump’s zero-tolerance policy at the border, photos that circulated online of children in the enclosures generated great anger. But those photos — by The Associated Press — were taken in 2014 and depicted some of the thousands of unaccompanied children held by President Barack Obama. When that fact came to light, some Democrats and activists who had tweeted the photos deleted their tweets. But prominent Democrats have continued to cite cages for children as a distinctive cruelty of Trump. </snip>

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

Journalism is dead. Our media and their panic pr0n hair on fire reporting is responsible for this disinformation. Before this COVID-19 hysteria, I thought the "msm" had little sway over the American public as poll after poll found the "msm" had little credibility. The last five months has me rethinking that stance. -

uh huh Special prosecutor finds ‘substantial abuses of discretion’ in Jussie Smollett case as he concludes investigation Special Prosecutor Dan Webb did not find evidence to support filing criminal charges against Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx or any other prosecutor. Special Prosecutor Dan Webb laid out a series of “operational failures” — and several false statements by Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx — as he announced on Monday the end of his investigation into the handling of hate crime claims by actor Jussie Smollett. Webb said Foxx and her staff made false or misleading statements about her declared recusal from the case, about how the Smollett case compared to others in the court system, about the certainty of a conviction for Smollett, and about her contacts with Smollett’s sister, actor Jurnee Smollett. But Webb also said he did not find evidence that the case was improperly influenced by third parties such as Tina Tchen, the onetime chief of staff to former first lady Michelle Obama, nor did he find evidence that would support criminal charges. </snip> Still, there are more shoes left to potentially drop. Webb said Monday he would seek permission “as soon as possible” from Cook County Judge Michael Toomin to release a 60-page report that supports his findings with evidence. He also said he intends to forward the report to Illinois’ Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission. </snip>

Former CIA Officer Arrested and Charged with Espionage Alexander Yuk Ching Ma, 67, a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officer, was arrested on Aug. 14, 2020, on a charge that he conspired with a relative of his who also was a former CIA officer to communicate classified information up to the Top Secret level to intelligence officials of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). The Criminal Complaint containing the charge was unsealed this morning. </snip> According to court documents, Ma and his relative (identified as co-conspirator #1) conspired with each other and multiple PRC intelligence officials to communicate classified national defense information over the course of a decade. The scheme began with three days of meetings in Hong Kong in March 2001 during which the two former CIA officers provided information to the foreign intelligence service about the CIA’s personnel, operations, and methods of concealing communications. Part of the meeting was captured on videotape, including a portion where Ma can be seen receiving and counting $50,000 in cash for the secrets they provided. The court documents further allege that after Ma moved to Hawaii, he sought employment with the FBI in order to once again gain access to classified U.S. government information which he could in turn provide to his PRC handlers. In 2004, the FBI’s Honolulu Field Office hired Ma as a contract linguist tasked with reviewing and translating Chinese language documents. Over the following six years, Ma regularly copied, photographed and stole documents that displayed U.S. classification markings such as “SECRET.” Ma took some of the stolen documents and images with him on his frequent trips to China with the intent to provide them to his handlers. Ma often returned from China with thousands of dollars in cash and expensive gifts, such as a new set of golf clubs. According to court documents, in spring 2019, over the course of two in-person meetings, Ma confirmed his espionage activities to an FBI undercover employee Ma believed was a representative of the PRC intelligence service, and accepted $2,000 in cash from the FBI undercover as “small token” of appreciation for Ma’s assistance to China. Ma also offered to once again work for the PRC intelligence service. On August 12, 2020, during a meeting with an FBI undercover employee before arrest, Ma again accepted money for his past espionage activities, expressed his willingness to continue to help the Chinese government, and stated that he wanted “the motherland” to succeed. </snip>
