  1. In the last 30 days I’ve been on four continents, visiting seven different countries. Go on your trips! Stay out of China, wash your hands, and enjoy life. You are more likely to die in a driving accident, a fall, or from the flu than corona virus. Where’s the hair on fire gif? For updated daily news, check out this long thread.
  2. Ok, sooooo not sure how they define "prepared." We went to the Rock of Gibraltar today, which is UK. The customs guy wandered down the aisle of the tour bus to look at passports while not asking a single question about where anyone had been lately, and that was "different" (especially in light of Morocco having a gazillion questions... I felt bad for the Asian couple on our ferry as they were pulled aside individually, and questioned at length). I will say there was a sign at Gibraltar passport control (about the size of a parking sign) that listed "Have you been in these countries," but no one ever asked us anything (neither guy at customs in or out said a word.. like not a word of any sort). ?‍♂️ Oh, on the upside, since Brexit happened Gibraltar is HOPPING. Apparently, with Brexit, goods that had been taxed to death are now duty free for those in the EU (to 300€ per person, restrictions apply). The cross-traffic looked like the Peace Bridge on the 4th of July.
  3. Oh, I can play that game! The vaccine might be a great inoculation and possibly be ready within the month. Might, possibly, perhaps, maybe ...
  4. I stole this from a retired-scientist commentor on another forum I frequent (she is usually a voice of reason when people are running around with their hair on fire). Any scientists here want to comment on her take about President Trump's remarks? There is a vaccine just a few weeks away from being ready to go into testing. The test kits that were sent out weren’t defective. They were sent out to state labs to speed up the quality control phase. Some that were designed to give false positives were included deliberately as part of the evaluation of the kits. When the numbers for the coronavirus are all in, the r0 for the coronavirus is expected to be between .7 and 1.0. That means people who get the virus are expected to pass it on to between .7 and 1.0 people. The r0 for H1N1 was 1.4-1.7. Normal precautions for the flu should be sufficient.
  5. Casablanca is not a one day trip. ?
  6. We had a condo in Florida for years. The Utah and Florida license covered most states, and Hubby has a NYS license too. We would have to scoot around Maryland if he was transporting because he was not licensed there, and was always concerned about what could happen if pulled over.
  7. So, we decided to do a day trip to Morocco. Now, I won't get into the numerous passport checks (at least five), or the declarations, the x-ray machine before getting on the boat and on arrival in Morocco, I want to post about the new form we received when crossing over for .... corona virus. I'd have taken a picture of the whole thing but I had already filled it out when it dawned on me it might be of interest. The corona virus form was much longer than the declaration form. It asked for our passport information, all our contact information, what we did for a living, if we had been to Italy, Iran, or China, and then some "in contact with" questions including if you had been to a hospital or lab that had a diagnosed case of corona virus or in contact with persons with corona virus, etc. This, from the Moroccan government. Going back to Spain? They looked at our passports and had us put our bags through the scanner.
  8. Well. That was chippy.
  9. Sorry Mitt, your connections are out there. Apparently you think that if you pull-a-McCain the press will cover for you. They might. They might not. You are playing er, Ukrainian roulette. Not sure it is gonna work out for you.
  10. Who said he was virtuous? Man had a playboy reputation.
  11. Still in the WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE hair-on-fire dumps, huh? Shut down everything!!! Quarantine for the whole world! Makes total sense to me. While we are at it, we should outlaw things with higher death rates, like driving, walking (falls) or going to work (workplace injuries).
  12. So what is to prevent an opposing party from drumming up charges on the opposition in power so they can not serve?
  13. That must be some tape that you heard. Link? They let you... As I've said before, for some reason there are a lot of people (usually men) who do not want to have a discussion about women who want a "notch in their bedpost" by sleeping with rich men, famous men, professional athletes, musicians, etc. They are called puck bunnies, buckle bunnies, etc. Women chase men for many, many reasons, and fame and fortune is a powerful aphrodisiac for some. Whether or not you find President Trump attractive (I never did), that does not mean there are not women out there who do. What form that takes? I try not to judge. Slut shamming is bad, or so I have been told by "progressives."
  14. That would require the RNC to come into NYS and start building a bench from the ground up. Not gonna happen. Instead of sinking money and effort into the state, they have abandoned New York. The "wonderful" NYS Senate legislation that has been passed the last year+ is only going to get worse for us. It really sucks.
  15. Whoa dude, you recently checked out of the local psych ward? That is the only way anyone could possibly say Biden is more mentally fit than... well, anyone or anything. The man is clearly mentally deficient. Whether it is dementia, strokes, or something else, there is something very wrong with Joey-B. It is elder abuse to parade him out on the campaign trail.
  16. Oh, you'll be seeing a lot more ads that he pays for, just not ads to promote him for president. ? ? ?
  17. Ok, soooo we flew into Pearson a few weeks ago. It was a Sydney to LA to Toronto connection. In Sydney we were asked if we had traveled to China when we checked our bags and when we were ticketed. We were asked again when checked into the gate area. In LAX no one asked us anything about if we had traveled to China. In Toronto, they asked us where we had been, if we had traveled to China, etc. This was about three weeks ago, so China was the big-deal. I have to question if they have really gotten more lax in Toronto about asking about travel outside the country, or not screening planes from China or Iran when they were asking so many questions about where people had been on an incoming flight from the US.
  18. More than just a co-inky-dink, methinks.
