Post Your All-Star Bills Roster…of Backups?

Joe Webb. The 3rd string quarterback that helped end the drought in the snow game. -

Joe Marino talks what the Bills have to do to beat KC in playoffs
Doc Brown replied to Nephilim17's topic in The Stadium Wall
The checkdown to a wide open Diggs was there for a probable first down. At worst a 3rd and short where I like our chances the way our running game was going with both Josh and our RB's. Chiefs have to start burning timeouts. We can run the clock down where it's a TD for the win or a chip shot for OT. Mahomes doesn't get the ball back. Even if Dawkins held his block, Allen was 1 for 13 (or something close to that) in passes 25 yards plus in the middle of the field last season. Horrible situational awareness by both Brady on the play call and Allen on the decision. I know I'm in the minority on this fwiw. -
Rasul Douglas - about his future with the bills?
Doc Brown replied to The Wiz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know he missed all voluntary OTA's last year too so I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Really wish they could find a way to extend him though as he's the perfect fit in this scheme. Although for the fire McDermott people it doesn't matter. -

I guess but that high difficulty miss to Shakir passing up a wide open Diggs is hard to forget as much as I love Allen. -

I'm not the one saying it's too late. LOL. I'll never get over the stupidty of the coaching at the end of 13 seconds. I'll give you that. Not squib kicking and then giving the WR's/TE's free releases while leaving the middle of the field wide open was beyond incompetence. -

So all hope is lost this year. See you next year. -

I don't think Pegula's firing McDermott unless McD steals his patio furniture or something. However, what I would do is if lose in similar fashion in the playoffs for the same reasons I wouldn't be opposed to hiring Johnson or Slowik. -

What's your preferred approach because firing McDermott isn't in the cards. -

I've heard the same thing and know the reasons for the relationship strain from an extremely reliable source. I think they smoothed out the relationship in 2023 but it was never going back to where it was before 2022. I'll be honest and really wish they worked it out. I wish Diggs was still on the team and we drafted Coleman. Diggs, Coleman, Samuel, Shakir, Kincaid, Cook, and Knox would be the best weapons he's ever had for Josh.

True but Kelce wasn't the same player he once was. -

We could ask Glenn Parker and Cornelius Bennett. -

I agree with the first point and that includes the Bengals clunker. I don't completely agree with that as I think Mahomes has been just as good as Allen in the last two Divisional Round games. He's the one that made 13 seconds and the overtime winning TD drive happen. Josh missed the throw to Shakir with the game on the line when he should've checked it down to Diggs. Mahomes makes that checkdown. The defensive game plan against Mahomes in the regular season has been much better than in the playoffs for some reason. One half glass full look is we have a new offensive and defensive coordinator now so hopefully they can throw some wrinkles in the game plans if we get back to that point again. Also, as much as I loved Hyde and Poyer they aren't as athletic as the new safeties this year. I'm looking for some optimism here. Also, we should have enough LB depth where we're not putting AJ Klein on Kelce. LOL. -
Surprised penicillin hasn't been mentioned yet. Antibiotics are the greatest medical invention at least.

Biggest strength is quarterback. Other than that, I don't disagree with their assessment.

Jefferson gets paid: 4yr, $140m contract signed
Doc Brown replied to KingBoots8's topic in The Stadium Wall
This was where the range most projected for him and I'd figure he'd get a guarantee percentage as strong as the recent elite QB contracts given out. He's the best WR in football and is only four months older than Dalton Kincaid. He should have a healthy third contract too which is around the age Hill and Adams signed their recent contracts. -
A little surprised at the negativity of this thread. I think it's pretty exciting. We'll figure out the logistics and I want all picks announced on the top of the Buffaloes.

Diggs was unique in that his personality became too big and we could get valuable trade assets in return (a likely high 2nd rounder next year). We're not getting that for Knox. Knox may be overpaid but he's bound to have a better season than last year. I trust Brady more than Dorsey to try and make him and Kincaid both part of the passing offense especially without the offense running through Diggs anymore.

Martin's still on the team as it should be a competition between him and the undrafted rookie they signed in Jack Browning. Why they signed Haack in the first place is perplexing. My best guess is that as long as they could sign a punter who could compete after the draft (Browning) that proved he could hold during OTA's they were going to release Haack. If not, it would be a Martin/Haack competition this summer.

Not with that attitude. You make a good point about young QB's without much tape on them taking the league by storm and never being able to duplicate that season again. I'd also add the league has shifted since Mahomes, Allen, and Jackson's breakout years though as the cover 2 shell is now in vogue.

This should be the goal. It was also the year we pry surrounded Josh with the best combination of pass protection and weapons. Diggs, Beasley, and Brown were still at the peak of their careers. Davis was a great WR4. Defenses still trying to figure out how to play Josh Allen and no fans in the crowd also helped so if you want to see Josh at his best again we need another world pandemic.

"Honey, the Bills released me and I don't know how to tell you this...... but it was because they needed room for a guy that never even played football before." I compared him and AJ Klein to a spare tire.
