Well I definitely agree with that. I haven't read through all the pages of foolishness in response to yesterday's game, but I'm sure a lot of it is over the top. Anyone calling for him to be benched or not conceding that he is, overall, an elite quarterback and the main reason the Bills win games, is being silly. On the other hand, I see far too much pushback any time anyone says ANYTHING negative about Josh Allen. Yesterday was Allen's sixth game in 17 starts this season with at least two turnovers. Fans should be allowed to point out that Josh needs to be better than that if the Bills want to win championships. That's all. It's not crime or heresy to critique Josh Allen.

What's your point? I am aware of how many points the Bills scored yesterday. My post is in response to the vast swaths of Bills fans blaming Dorsey for any and all offensive struggles. My response is that Allen bears his share of the blame, too.

If no one is ever allowed to criticize Josh Allen or point out times when he makes boneheaded plays, it's gonna be a loooooong decade around here. Josh Allen is the primary reason the Bills are yearly Super Bowl contenders. Josh Allen sometimes makes really dumb decisions, disregards situational football, and needlessly puts the ball in harm's way. Both of these things can be true! It is OKAY to point out that Josh Allen -- despite being an elite franchise quarterback who may go down as the best the Bills have ever had -- sometimes makes bad plays, sometimes costs the team points, sometimes keeps lesser opponents in games with his carelessness. It's OKAY! It's OKAY to critique your quarterback! It doesn't make you any less of a fan! The "no one is allowed to badmouth Josh Allen" hero worship is ridiculous.

There were multiple receivers open underneath throughout the game and Allen chose not to throw to them. If you have the means to go back and watch yesterday's game, particularly the 3rd and 4th quarters, where everyone was screaming about the go routes and whatnot...I suggest you do it. There were open receivers underneath. Knox, Singletary, Cook, Morris, Beasley, sometimes Diggs. There was always a short outlet option, and that option was quite open more often than not. Josh chose not to go to those options. He chose to push it downfield, over and over. Don't get me wrong -- Dorsey really frustrates me at times. I, too, would like to see various changes to the offense. Still, the complete refusal of some to hold our quarterback accountable for some of these periods of offensive struggle infuriates me. I know that pushing the ball downfield is who Josh Allen IS and always will be, but when you watch the game back and see multiple options underneath, only to see Josh repeatedly choose the low percentage deep shot even when it's situationally not intelligent to do so...it doesn't hold water with me to just blame Dorsey for all of it.

Replace Beasley with McKenzie (I think they'll let him rest his hamstring) and replace Elam with Benford (I don't think they bench a guy who has been playing increasing snaps recently for a guy who hasn't played any snaps in weeks -- in the playoffs. Other than that, yes.

I totally understand this sentiment, but... Personally, I don't think this is the week to be worried about an opposing QB looking like an All-Star.

Staley is not a good coach. I expect him to be fired within the next two seasons. They can't waste Justin Herbert's talent with that doofus.

As it is, it's totally mind blowing that the Bills indisputably have primarily positive outcomes when Bobby Hart is on the field for the offense this season. I don't have the EPA numbers in front of me, but he's been valuable as the extra blocker in the jumbo sets. If you'd have told me that Bobby Hart would be a meaningful contributor to the Bills offense in 2022, I would've called you a filthy liar.

Josh Allen would swear up and down if you asked him that he doesn't care about individual accolades like the Pro Bowl and All-Pro votes. But I promise you, he cares, and it's gonna piss him off. What was that he said last year? "WHO THE ***** DID THEY THINK I WAS?!"

I am really glad Milano is getting the recognition he deserves. He's perpetually underrated and underappreciated by non-Bills fans. I bet if you ask the average NFL fan, they've never even heard of him. He's an elite player, and hugely important to the Bills' defensive success. Great (and unexpected) re-signing by Beane.

I actually really like Singletary. His ability to shake a defender in a phone booth is elite. Like if it's a linebacker or safety with a perfect angle, meeting him one-on-one, Singletary almost always shakes him and gains more yards. He also has a tremendous work ethic and fits in great in the locker room. That said, he'll continue to see meaningful work throughout the playoffs, obviously. But after that? Well...The main reasons I don't want to re-sign him are: 1.) I don't ever believe in giving out second contracts to running backs UNLESS they're either elite, game changing talents (Derrick Henry, Dalvin Cook) or meaningful passing game assets (CMC, Kamara). 2.) With James Cook and Nyheim Hines, the Bills will already possess a pretty fast, scary duo that can both also contribute in the passing game. 3.) Too many more pressing needs elsewhere to spend what limited cap space the Bills will have on. If Singletary will come back at a very reasonable and team friendly deal, then MAYBE, but even then....it's probably better business to just draft a late round guy to replace him.

Yeah, I agree that he'll never be a workhorse guy. I don't think this coaching staff wants that anyway. I'd be happy with at least a 60/40 split, though, with the key being that Cook's in the lineup for more of the "gotta have it" moments and gets more passing work. Basically, in my opinion, Singletary should be spelling Cook and keeping him fresh and taking neutral situation, early down work, not splitting carries evenly with him. As much as I love Singletary's attitude and I think he's a pretty good back...the combination of Cook's emergence, the presence of Hines on the roster, and the other roster needs being much more pressing this offseason, I don't think they should sign Singletary to a second contract. I think they can replicate his production with a late round pick, and that Cook/Hines could be a pretty formidable 1/2 punch anyway.

Kind of. Hopefully it serves as an extra intangible motivation for the Bills players, who surely want to do their part to advance to the point in the playoffs where Hyde can potentially return. believe I already heard Josh say "we have to make sure we do our part to make sure we get far enough for him to come back".

So... Do the Bills ride with the hot hand and make this a James Cook game and a James Cook playoffs, or do they rely on Singletary because he's the veteran? To me, it's clear that Cook has been outplaying Singletary recently. He offers more in the passing game, has improved his run blocking, and has been finding creases and hitting the hole. His contact balance has improved, too. It seems like he very rarely gets stopped for no gain. Cook also hasn't fumbled since week 1, whereas Singletary always feels like a bit of a risk in that department. Still, this coaching staff has a little bit of a history of deferring/defaulting to vets in big games. Here's hoping they don't. Cook has earned the lion's share, IMO.

Amazing stuff. As much as all of us were in shock watching the Damar Hamlin injury, obviously none of us can ever imagine what it was like to be one of his teammates on the field that night. I think it's important to remember that while Damar's outcome was a good one and the team is saying and doing all the right things about "moving forward", there's a very high likelihood that the whole situation is still playing heavily on the minds and hearts of many Bills players. Those who downplayed the word "trauma", well...it WAS trauma for a lot of these guys, and if the words of Tre White and Dion Dawkins don't convince you of that, then nothing well. No matter what happens from here on out, all of these players have my love and respect and support. The same goes for Sean McDermott. He himself said "I just did what anyone would do in my situation", but I don't think that's true. I don't think he gives himself enough credit. I don't think every coach out there puts the PERSON ahead of the PLAYER the way he does. And you can tell it's genuine, and its heartfelt, and its real. He's a principled man of high character and an excellent leader, and I couldn't be prouder to have him as head coach of the Bills.

Anybody saying Brady is washed obviously didn't watch him play this season. More passing yards than Josh Allen. 25 TDs and 9 picks. All behind a putrid offensive line. Is he still the world destroying force he once was? No. Is he "washed"? Absolutely not.

Haven't read through all six pages, but... I'm officially in the "please just devote one offseason to improving the offense for once" camp. I'm not on the same level of frustration with this front office's continual investment in the defense as some posters on this board. I think that having both a top 5 defense and top 5 offense show that they've done pretty well building the team overall and having some semblance of balance. I also recognize that as long as Sean McDermott is the head coach, they're never going to stop caring about having a quality defense. With all of that said... It's time to invest some serious draft capital into restocking the cupboards on offense. They're in good shape at QB, LT, C, TE1, and WR1. Nothing else should be off the table. Get a serious WR prospect (or two). Take a swing on a TE2. If one of the really talented running backs fall (and they don't re-sign Singletary), take a swing there. And most of all, draft some capable offensive linemen. People will be able to make legitimate arguments for safeties, defensive linemen, etc, and they won't be wrong, BUT...Please, please, please, build around Josh Allen. Work towards making his life as easy as Mahomes' is. You want to keep the Bills' championship window open for as long as possible? Then protect Allen and give him weapons. A healthy, productive Allen is the best, most direct, and -- over the the long haul -- most logical way to win championships.

I just read that 13 points would be the largest spread ever in an NFL playoff game. Wild. Forgive me if this has already been discussed. I'm a west coaster, so I miss a few hours of morning discussion in these threads, but... If the Bills lose this game, it would be a massive upset and a historic failure. I expect them to win going away. Skylar Thompson is BAD bad.

I have to agree that the shine has worn off Romo a bit. I don't love his style of announcing. A bit hyperactive and talkative for my taste. The great ones know when to speak and when not to speak. Space can be more powerful than words. Let the viewers hear and feel the noise and atmosphere of the game itself from time to time. It doesn't always need to be "Aaawwwhhh Jeez Jim, I dunno if I love that decision there, do you? I mean it's...there's lots of ways you can go, but with the game where it is and the players playing like they are...I dunno, ahhh I dunnnoooow". Just STFU from time to time, my guy.
