  1. The Mayor of the city that just released 1,300 actual criminals from jail to slow spread of Covid 19. How ironic of a statement. To heck with freedom of assembly in Chicago; it seems.
  2. Yep. Ramp up hospital capacity ( similar to before) and adjust it upward if needed. We previously had thousands of hospital beds waiting for Covid patients that never arrived. The modeling has been way off, and I’m skeptical that such a disparity can be attributed to lockdowns. Florida Governor was told he would need upward of 450,000 beds and they actually needed closer to 2,000. Capacity will determine everything going forward and it’s where the focus should be. We cannot afford another lockdown, so all resources should go into the health system.
  3. Brilliant ! The lunacy of the left knows no bounds.
  4. The other day, she threatened to arrest people for not adhering to the lockdown and even to jail “ offenders”. Meanwhile , the Chicago Jail just released 1,300 inmates ( you know, actual criminals) to stop the spread of Covid 19 ! The Governor is nuts !
  5. I agree. Cuomo will keep moving the goalposts while instructing the populace to stay calm, while showing graphs / charts of the duration of past wars. He never mentions any specific target number, just that current numbers aren’t good enough. He’s pretty much planning to keep NY in shutdown mode until sometime after the November election.
  6. Im aware that certain masks don’t do much. A friend of mine has a compromised immune system. She’s been instructed by her doctors to wear an N95 mask in stores , at work etc. I believe that is for her own protection. A surgical mask provides less protection and a face covering even less, by a lot. It’s my opinion that personal freedom must be upheld here, but others certainly would feel otherwise. Edit: certain ignored individuals have brought up comparisons to driving, but driving is a privilege. In managing traffic, a stop sign or turn signal is a reasonable thing to manage traffic, and not an infringement. I’d be glad to say, wear a hat or shirt in a restaurant that says “ Hi; I might be a carrier of Coronavirus”. Not a facecovering , though. Just simply assume that everyone you meet could be a carrier, then take precautions as you see fit. Wear a mask if you want. Heck, wear scuba gear.
  7. And May 15 was just window dressing until Cuomo’s next extension.
  8. I totally agree. We are a nation built on freedom and individual liberty. We cannot take those liberties away. Limiting our freedoms is an overreaction of government. In society, we make an accommodation for a wheelchair bound person by building a ramp and maybe offering a larger seating area. We do not require all patrons in the area to use wheelchairs.
  9. Can’t disagree more. Those with a high risk problem need to take precautions like wearing a mask and going out less. That means avoiding crowds, wearing a mask if they do decide to go in a restaurant etc. It’s a new reality for some. Their freedom of choice is limited by their own condition, and the existence of a virus in the world. Not by the free choices made by others, including the choice of not wearing a mask. Requiring a mask would be removing the freedom of choice of people in general. One is simply an act of nature. The other is an overreach of government; an act of man. The lefts never ending drive for equality of life’s outcomes is behind that type of thinking.
  10. Ahhh, the WaPo. A liberal rag owned by Jeff Bezos; the man making the most profits by people being told to “ stay home”. The LSM (or MSM ) has earned the mistrust through their own doing. They are quite literally an arm of the Democratic Party. Their extreme left wing personalities ( Don Lemon -king of the race card) constantly push a wildly liberal view of America. A view many Americans don’t share. Ironically, you cite two of the most intelligent people on TV news today in Hannity and Laura Ingraham to try and make your typically off base point. Whatever your feelings are on Hydroxychloroquine, it’s largely irrelevant to the larger picture. The LSM are complicit with the left; look at their utter silence on Biden’s accuser. Compare that to Kavanaugh and the universal outrage they peddled. The hypocrisy is obvious.
  11. From a legal standpoint, I heard a prominent Buffalo attorney state that proving where someone contracted a virus would be extremely difficult. ( I believe he was asked a similar question to yours) Now, if an employee feels a job is not safe enough for them is a personal decision. No different than say, deciding not to take a job that involves working with high voltage power lines, or working in a hospital , or becoming a Cop. It’s not a valid reason for unemployment. Viruses are part of the world at large. If someone just can’t deal with the existence of a virus , they might be able to get disability for mental reasons. Not unemployment, though.
  12. Next 2 possibles : A) Tre White B) JoshAllen. I don’t think anyone else from 90’s teams makes it. Aughts were mostly awful.
  13. Correct. Why should someone continue to receive unemployment if they voluntarily quit their job ? Most of the new unemployment claims of the last month or two were only filed because businesses were told they could not operate. So an employee deciding not to go back to a job that is waiting for them is absolutely a voluntary quit.
  14. States will simply be allowing businesses to reopen. A State will not demand that any individual return to work unless they actually work in State government. Any employee has the freedom to either continue working at a particular business ( provided the business still exists) or to find work they consider more suitable.
  15. Because how dare you ! We must all be terrified, shut into our homes and zooming. At least until the November election, before which experts will agree nothing is safe.
  16. I am in complete agreement that the virus will continue to be present and would expect case counts to go up. It actually what many of us have been saying all along.... you must’ve missed it.
  17. So heart attacks and stroke deaths have gone down dramatically because folks are sitting on their collective arse? Who knew? Car crashes have probably gone down precipitously as well. Wouldn’t have thought that sloth and being shut in all day were great for heart disease, but maybe we’re onto something with the lockdowns. If they were continued for a year, think of how many lives could be saved ! An area in South Florida reported they had no murders over a 15 day period , so we can reduce crime too. Seriously, though who in their right mind thinks that Covid 19 deaths are being undercounted ? Sound like leftist drivel, kind of like their Corona models that didn’t materialize. Meanwhile, in NY the Covid body count multiplies - Medicaid pays hospitals over twice the rate for Covid deaths as it does for any other cause. Something doesn’t quite add up, but we’re not undercounting Covid deaths. Doesn’t the left argue that the US has the worst numbers in the world with regards to the Wuhan virus ? Now the numbers don’t support continuing lockdowns, so we must be undercounting the death rate; ridiculous.
  18. They will release a 17 game schedule, but make no mistake ; they have a backup plan. Maybe a backup after that, too. What will eventually happen is ( in my opinion) the NFL will use about a dozen or so stadiums in a few southern states. Teams will stay in hotels for the duration of the season. Perhaps the season will be abbreviated, but not necessarily. The players union will have to sign off on it, but the alternative is no one makes any money. So it will pass, as these players won’t make up a lost year. Fans may even be allowed, depending on localities. Not sure how they will determine which is the “ home “ team, but it’s not that relevant. Everything comes down to having a product for live TV, and billions of dollars are at stake. I heard Marcellus Wiley on WGR last week and he made a reference to hearing talk of this kind of a scenario, though he didn’t name a source. I wasn’t surprised, as I’ve thought such a solution would be workable. There will be live NFL football in 2020, but I doubt any schedule released in May will be adhered to.
  19. ^^^This. Accepted standards of precision are not being adhered to when determining cause of death/ counting Covid19 deaths. When you see the amount Medicaid pays to hospitals per Covid 19 death vs any other cause, the NY numbers look even more suspicious.
  20. Yes, she’s excellent. Looks pretty good too!
  21. While I’m suspect of the validity of those numbers, supporters would be free to limit their own movement upon the lifting of a lockdown. The people absolutely are the check on their representatives. Constitutional rights to freedom don’t come with an asterisk invalidating them in case of Coronavirus. The brainwashed masses can buy into media driven fear tactics, but that doesn’t override liberties and rights guaranteed by the founders. The role of government is not to ensure that you or I do not contract a virus.
  22. I applaud her for having the courage to stand up to a tyrannical , power mad Governor. Hopefully more and more people decide its time to act out. The data do not support draconian lockdowns, denying individuals their right to make a living; their pursuit of happiness.
  23. I like them ( they’re not thugs). Situations like this are the reason we have a second amendment. Government is supposed to work for the people , not the other way around.
  24. These are the numbers we need to be looking at and then move forward. The lockdowns are ridiculous. In NY or example Cuomo was talking about contact tracing today. He stated that some 4,600 people tested positive yesterday. He wants to contact trace those peoples contacts for the past 14 days , then the next batch and so on. He calls this NYs “ best chance” and reopening. Did he say “ chance”? Ridiculous. Does tracing on that scale ( after the cat has been let out of the bag) sound even remotely possible to pull off ? Cuomo has gone off the edge.
