And DiMarco had position and should have caught it. Quit trying to deny what you saw.
-
Whether the play or pattern should have been called is a separate issue. Watch the play. It was not a ridiculous throw. It was a throw to a guy who had position and just needs to time his jump better for a big completion. Quit looking for false reasons to criticize the QB.

A few critical mistakes by coaches and players alike. But if you are going to put a team together emphasizing defense then the defense cannot give up 19 straight points.

And experience will help with that. Someone at church this morning said Allen reminded them of Favre. Not a bad comparison. -
He didn’t have many options; they dropped a ton of guys into coverage. Here’s the deal which makes some folks takes infuriating. People talk about letting your guys try to make plays. Allen let DiMarco try to make a play. DiMarco had inside position, Allen put it on the money, and if DiMarco times his jump better it’s a big play. But people go one and on about how Allen made a bad play there?

I would say your expectations for a second year QB are off base. He does some head scratching things to be sure but he also is the guy who got the team to the playoffs, got them downfield to tie it in regulation and had them in position to win in OT absent that blind side call. Do you believe young QBs get better with time, do they learn by experience? -
Who should have caught the ball.

Look at the games yesterday. And Allen would have had your magical number if a couple guys catch passes they should have caught. He made some great plays yesterday and a few boneheaded plays. He’s a second year guy that showed a lot of progress this season. Including getting them the tying FG in regulation with just over a minute and no time outs. He needs to continue improving but trying to say he was the sole cause of this loss is ridiculous.

The future is bright. A painful loss though, hard to get over. -

Bill Halas. Bill Shula. Bill Lombardi. Bill Gibbs. Bill Noll. So many Bills. -
Most egregious one to me was the delay of game that should have been called on Watson's big play. I know folks say what you see on TV isn't necessarily the time on the field, but it was clearly a late snap. Regardless of the penalties called or not or not, we had opportunities. Josh's fumble hurt, Brown forgetting how to use his feet, the defense folding when we really needed it, play calling that left Singletary running out of the game the second half and OT. Lot of reasons.

They dropped at least 8 guys into overage so there just wasn't much to pick from first of all. And if you look at the play DiMarco had position on the two guys. He jumps a fraction of a second later he catches the ball. People yell all the time about giving your guys a chance to make a play. Allen did and he gets criticized for that as well, I guess.

Playoff #1 Bills @ Texans PostGame Thread

It would have been fourth down anyway as I recall. And as I also recall there was a second penalty on the play. What he should have done is thrown the ball away earlier true. But taking the grounding call would not have changed things over being sacked. -
You don’t make a call like that in a playoff game when it hasn’t been made all year. Just like the crackback call; haven’t seen that either

I think it would have been more than a 6 yard sack -

The grounding? He doesn’t try to make a play he gets sacked and we’re out of range anyway. -
Josh is a great competitor and wants to make big plays but that wasn’t the way to do it.

McDermott: Josh Allen 'tried to do too much' in loss

Have to experience it to get used to it. Like pro golfers trying to close out wins the first time. -

He absolutely did and this is just you doing your normal negative about everything nonsense. DiMarco was in front of both defenders. He jumps a split second later he catches the ball.
