Merry Christmas everyone!

I won’t comment because I certainly don’t want to be accused of consistently harassing someone over and over when I choose to disagree with and debate their posts. But if I did respond, my response would be something like it’s silly to claim that Darnold and Mayfield suffer from inconsistent coaching since the former has had Gase who was brought in specifically because of his supposed value in working with QBs, and the latter had his OC last year elevated to HC specifically so there would be continuity for Mayfield. But I won’t say that because I don’t want to hurt any sensitive feelings.

Yep he misses some, no doubt. What this thread shows is the chronic misuse of statistical analysis. Going back to completion percentage (which I though we were way past by now), there are multiple factors involved in pass completions, some of which you’ve highlighted. If a receiver runs pattern X and the WB thinks he should run pattern Y the QB can throw it right on the money and the ball hits the turf.
-
I disagree.
-
It would be interesting to compare the number of few inaccurate passes with the number of dropped passes.
-
See above.

And this proves my point. I have said in this very thread that Allen has improvements to make. Just a few posts above this one. But you say I refuse to see anything wrong about him. Thanks for once again showing your agenda. Oh, and the reasons why our passing game is where it is, completion percentage? Partly because of play calls, partly because of drops, partly because we have a solid running game, partly because Allen is figuring it out still especially reading defenses. And partly because he misses some throws on occasion. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it the next time you want to claim no one who likes the kid ever criticized him.

No. Your opinion that Darnold and Mayfield have issues at times is all coaching, but that Allen's are all Allen’s, is silly. It is silly to state that. And it reveals an agenda which you have made clear time and time again: you don’t want Allen as QB and will post anything negative you can about him.’ We get your schtick. It’s tiresome. Allen like the other two is a second year guy with things to learn and improvements to make. Simple for those of us without an agenda.
-
Sit the starters and still win. Jets will be running for the bus.
-
Because your opinion is silly.
-
So you realize this is a forum for discussion, but are unwilling to discuss? You just want to throw your rants out there and not be challenged at all? Mods?
-
So when Darnold throws dumb picks it’s on Gase but when Allen cuts his int’s way down it’s because of Daboll? You’re being silly at this point.

I think they scripted 15 with the Niners?
-
Having an All Pro at Zo’s spot would improve things? What a novel idea.
-
He needs to fix that, and experience should do so. Also I wonder if they should script the first 15 plays. It worked for Walsh and Montana. Part of it is that we are among the leaders in dropped passes.

In your opinion. And we’re sick of it. There are some like me who like watching good defense, or a good running play. And I watched every game OJ played and if you didn’t think he was an exciting football player you’re nuts. We are sick of you hijacking thread after thread after thread to continue to spout off about what is or is not exciting football. We are tired of you going off all the time about the necessity of a 300 yard passing game when you have been shown dozens of times it does not correlate with wins. And we are especially sick of you pledging your fandom for the team when you have made it abundantly clear you care more about being what you call entertained than having a winning Bills team. You don’t like the way they play that’s too damn bad. Then don’t watch. Or find an more exciting team that entertains you. Or go to the movies. Just quit trying to make this your personal chat room to promote your agenda time and again. Mods, am I wrong?

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Patriots Win Again
oldmanfan replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Short term: two of the last three years in the playoffs Long term: young players drafted at key positions such as QB, MLB, CB, RB. Tons of draft picks and well managed cap space next year, a HC and GM in synch about how to take a long term view. And let's be honest, because you've said it yourself on this board: you are not the slightest bit interested in short and long term success. What you care about is being entertained, and entertainment for you is just throwing the football around even if it results in a loss. -
The Bills have 90 million in cap space, are going to the playoffs, have a dynamic young QB, and a coach that is well respected by the players. Last offseason they knew they needed to give Allen help, and what did they do? Befed up the lines in free agency, and added Brown and Beasley in free agency, both of whom are playing well. And you think they can't target and acquire the FAs they want? They just did last year. Your obsession with this 300 yard nonsense is pathologic, and as I have said before you really need help.

Yep. All that. Plus Josh could have certainly played better in the first half. it is perfectly OK to think that the kid will be our QB for the next decade or so as I do, plus be able to objectively say he could have played better Saturday. Not just that he missed a couple passes (and not the ones to Know; those were difficult throws), but that Belichick did to him what he does to young QBs; confused him. Josh needs to continue to improve on reads, especially pre-snap, so he can get the ball out quicker. He's done that better in many games this year, but those teams don't have Belichick calling defenses.

Guess you forgot the AFL?

Other than Schoebel being insulted to be compared to Denney, I'd agree with the positions. I think the WR, RT and DE can be pursued both in Fa and the draft. Rt more though the draft, as O linemen are at a premium in the NFL so teams tend to hold on to guys that are the caliber we'd look for. A big RB you can find in lower rounds in the draft. I would want an exhaustive opinion from the medical staff before going there. The guy is older and prone to injury.

Every year people say the schedule will be tough. Every year certain supposed good teams fail and vice versa. To put it another way, how many fans of other teams looked at the Bills as an easy win this year?
