Second year QBs have things to learn. Allen is no different. But he's Coming along nicely. And give Tomlin and his coaching staff credit for protecting their young QB and allowing him to succeed. And ignore pff. I believe Belichick does and he strikes me as a fairly competent guy.

So you’re saying we should be 12-1, we winning one of the last three we’re in the playoffs, but the season could go down the tubes quickly? Easy does it.

You need a few things: 1. There needs to be a viable third party. The majority of folks in this country are like me. When it comes to fiscal matters, foreign policy, law and order, I am much more conservative (truly conservative and not what some claim to be conservative today). When it comes to social policies I tend more towards the liberal side. Some in the middle may flip flop those, but we can at least talk about these issues and come to some sort of compromise. We have lost having any moderate voices in either party right now, there is nothing on the horizon suggesting that will change. So a viable third party, representing the majority of the people, is needed. 2. There needs to be term limits. Truman was to my mind one of the great Presidents and he would talk about Cincinnatus often, the Roman who came to rescue his country, then went home to his farm once done with his duty. Elect people who will promise to serve X terms and while in office pass term legislation. 3. This country desperately needs a debate and discussion on exactly what the role of the federal government is under our Constitution. As one who is naturally conservative on this topic, I believe the federal government does far, far more than it should be doing. The workings of the federal government need to be pruned way back, which in turn will address the ridiculous deficit.

Should be a very good game. I love defensive contests and that's what this is shaping up to be!

Their defense was more dominant than ours yesterday. Made our O look sick. Josh needs to grow from this and someone has to figure out having a hot read he can go to quickly when the blitz comes.

Tough day for a young QB. He certainly could have performed better. I would say my bigger disappointment was the O line; they got steamrolled all day. Not sure if it's Josh or Morse that calls out the blocking changes but whoever is doing that, they nee to recognize the blitz, change assigments, and look for the hot read. Do we truly have hot reads against the blitz?

Got beat by a better team today. Everyone talks about their offense but their D was great. Made our O line look terrible.

The Bears did just what we did to the Cowboys. Played a solid game on both sides of the field, and the Cowboys then showed they have neither the coaching nor the intestinal fortitude to meet the challenge. Oh, and Prescott threw for over 300 in a losing effort.

Another old time guy: Vin Scully. Guys like him and Enberg could call anything and make it sound great. And even farther back an announcer who I don’t think ever got the credit he deserved: Chris Schenkel. He did some football , and was smooth enough to make bowling exciting every Saturday.

The kid is coming along. One of the common themes in the league is that it takes time for young O linemen to develop because so many of them don't play with their hand in the dirt anymore in college, and they don't play against higher level talent seen in the pros. He might be fine at RT with more experience, he might be better at G. But there should be a place for him based on what we've seen thus far. Oh, and the criticism that he sometimes get beat one on one by very fast DE's coming around the edge? That's pretty much the norm except for the very very best tackles.

Good God. How long do we have to be subjected to your personal gripe about being more entertained by passing yards? This team is set up to be a balanced offense with a strong D and it works! And one of the reasons we don’t have a 300 yard game is because it works, because we don’t get so blown out of games we get trash yards. Rational fans care about wins. Rational fans don’t go back 45 games for some arbitrary reason when you had different QBs and different WRs playing against different teams. And so on. I like the running game. Looking at 2018 stats 8 of the top ten running teams were in the playoffs. Nine of ten look like they’ll be this year. But do I continually post thread after thread and post after post and talk about how I will unapologetically continue to post about how we have to hit X rushing yards per game as a factor of success. No. Why? Because it’s wins that matter. And because I don’t feel the need to exasperate everyone with my personal entertainment preferences.

I don't think anyone can argue about the lack of adequate QB play since Kelly. I think we may have just solved that with Allen. It's fun to watch a Bill's QB play again! I still don't get why folks have to look for reasons to criticize the kid, the team, whatever. He is developing quite nicely I'd say. I ascribe it to a defense mechanism after so much poor play over the years. Agreed, but I guess I don't understand why folks have to put qualifiers in for the team this year. Sure, if we had a bad defense our record would be worse. But instead, why not credit the GM and HC for putting together a really good D that helps their young QB in games as he develops?

This is passer rating? The continued issue that keeps being brought up herein is the lack of a 300 yard passing game by Allen, which has been shown time and again to not necessarily correlate with wins. If I have ratings correct, you could throw 12 times, complete ten for say 120 yards and 3 TDs with no int's and you'd have a very good rating.
