  1. I said above open things up. Let companies and places of business mandate vaccinations. Let the stupid people get it. They did, they die.
  2. I hope he stays well. The delta variant seems to be hitting younger people harder. I would be making sure the day car workers are vaccinated. I’d check on ventilation and such. Losing a year of in person school was tough, but from what I’ve seen kids were more resilient over it than adults. Oh Trump didn’t lie? Woodward’s interview. So you’re the smart guy. What should Biden do? Should he mandate vaccines? Because you know what you’d say to that. Effing hypocrites.
  3. As if I’m a Democrat. They own it, they have made vaccines available to everyone. It’s the idiots who won’t get it that are killing the country. How is that Biden’s fault? At least he didn’t knowingly lie to the American people about the pandemic like his predecessor.
  4. What the hell are you talking about? I own this now? We all own this now. Wake the hell up.
  5. Then you stop with the partisan crap. You do it all the time. Right now all sane people regardless of party or anything else that can separate folks should be in lockstep demanding people get vaccinated.
  6. Yep and when kids get sick and die it kills me. But it’s on their parents at this point. The data is out there, the evidence in favor of vaccinations and such are out there. If I could, I would place kids in protective custody if there parents are so stupid hat they expose them. But that’s not how things work so unfortunately kids will die or have lifelong complications because their parents were so mind numbingly dumb. You don’t or you would not have wrote what you wrote. Facts matter. Words matter. I know the Trumpists had to spend 4 years always saying that’s not what he said or meant, but tough. I hope your 4 year old stays well through this. I hope you’re doing what needs to be done to help him or her do so.
  7. They said they would not trust Trump if he said it worked, but that they’d trust the FDA and the scientists. Facts matter.
  8. I think successful pro sports teams have to have synchrony with the coach and front office. They have to share a philosophy of what type of team they want, so the correct players are brought in to match their vision. The word process gets picked on a lot, but process works. Having a specific mindset for how to build the team and focusing all efforts on that is the only way to move forward, otherwise you just spin your wheels. I think the Pegulas finally get that after finding it with the Bills. I like what I see so far with Adams and Granato. They are going with younger guys, guys who want to be Sabres. They are bringing in some vets to complement and hold down spots until the younger guys take over. Building with the draft vs. high priced FAs. A culture where if you don’t buy in or want to be around, then see ya. Letting guys like Risto and Sam move on was good. They were never going to buy in. Eichel won’t be going for a while, no one will trade for him given his injury and for what Adams rightly will demand. But if he comes to training camp, then Adams and Granato need to make it abundantly clear that he needs to buy in. If not, sit his butt on the bench. And give the C to one who earns it. Next year won’t be a playoff year, but better than last year I’ll bet.
  9. We have to hope Adams and Granato are like Beane and McD.
  10. She did an amazing job yesterday
  11. As one who works in health care I should be behind trying to protect all, have vaccinated people wear masks so they can’t transmit to in infected. But I’m done. Open things up at this point. Let employers and businesses make their decisions on mandating vaccinations. And if you are so goddamned stupid to not get a vaccine, then go ahead, get infected and die. If you are so goddamned stupid to put your kids at risk and they die, figure out how you’ll explain that to you family and your God. We can no longer allow the stupid minority in this country to dictate terms. They know the risks; if they get sick and die so be it.
  12. The highest number of deaths in a given year from the flu over the past decade was about 60,000 or about ten times fewer than the Covid pandemic. To say nothing is done to combat the flu is ridiculous since a flu vaccine is dispersed yearly, but people don't take it. Also, the flu vaccines each year do not have the same efficacy from year to year depending on strain vs. the over 90% effectiveness of Covid vaccines in preventing deaths. This is why just copying and pasting stuff without actually reading or thinking about it should not be done.
  13. Everywhere I go
  14. Debt will destroy this country, and both parties are responsible.
  15. I have mixed feelings. Most of us older folks who played sports were taught that you have to be there for the team. So from that perspective when I heard the news I thought she was bailing on her teammates, that she owed it to them to suck it up and get out there. Then I got home and watched her vault, and it was clear she was way out of it. I think if she had continued not only would she have done poorly and cost her team a chance on the podium, but she could have hurt her self in a sport where one wrong move can break your neck. So it's hard to compare what she had to deal with vs. what Kerri Strug did; Strug knew it would hurt like hell when she landed, Biles wasn't sure if she'd land on her next event. Couple last points. One, unless you are an elite athlete I don't think any of us can appreciate the pressures such individuals feel. Second, maybe it's time to drop the jingoistic fervor around the Olympics (as was started during the Cold War), and just recognize the Games for what they are, a chance for athletes of different countries to compete.
  16. So he is supposed to be a mind reader? Come on. We all think he could have gotten more with no idea whom he’s been talking to, what the offers were, and so on. It may very well be that many GMs don’t hold Reinhart in as high regard as our fan base. I see parallels between what the Bills did and what the Sabres are trying to do. Get a GM and a HC that are in synch with the type of team they want and type of players that fit. Get rid of guys that don’t buy in and keep or get guys that do. Granted, it will take longer in the NHL since draft picks don’t immediately jump onto the team. But you have two guys in Adams and Granato that have been active in the game forever. Adams was the type player that had to grind it out, and did so with success in the league for years. I’m pretty sure he knows what a team needs to be successful.
  17. And how is Adams supposed to control that? If Florida makes an obscene offer to Sam that he can’t turn down, is that Adams fault.?
  18. You honestly have no clue about science and how viruses propagate and how vaccinations remove the hosts from viruses do they can’t replicate and such. And you don’t want to know, which is the most sickening thing about it.
  19. The vaccine is to get rid of mitigation. You really have no clue whatsoever. It is amazing how many people do not understand basics about viruses and how they work
  20. No. He has moments when he has trouble remembering something in the format he was in the other night; that is common in older individuals. I’m 65 and it happens to me more times than I’d like. And you watch other older politicians and you see it as well. But his style and speaking does not seem appreciably different to me than it’s been throughout his career. I don’t see anything in his public persona that makes me think his cognitive skills, his ability to consider data and make decisions, is altered with the caveat that I’m not in the room. My guess is he’ll serve one term unless Trump runs. And I don’t think Trump does.
