He and Rapp will likely be starters. You know that.
-
No he wasn't. He has stuff to learn certainly as most rookies do. This is just more emotional irrationality after a tough loss.

Going forward these are two guys that are going to have to make significant contributions. We need younger guys, former draft picks to assume significant roles on this team.

Kurt Warner breaks down the 4th down. Allen error?
oldmanfan replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
You can go on all day and night about whether Werner could have made the throws Allen can make. And he couldn't. But in doing so you entirely miss the point. What Warner was talking about is reading the defense, setting protections, and having routes available so Josh would not have needed to try and make the kind of hero throw he made, and that Kincaid should have caught. I think Johnson was set to the right of the formation. If he would have just saw the safety blitz and drifter right to give Josh a target Jiosh could have easily dumped it to the right flat and Johnso picks up the first down. The brain goes to different places depending on what you're capable of? Are you suggesting Josh's brain was incapable of processing what was coming on that play? I don't think so. It was a great call by a great DC that fooled Brady, Josh, McGovern, pretty much everyone on the Bills offense. And for that you give Spagnolo credit. -

It wasn’t that they didn’t expect a blitz, it’s that they expected it to come from the left side of the formation. I think insinuating that a HOF QB has no idea about playing in the body of any QB is silly. -
Need a good off-season to include young guys currently on the roster. Coleman has to figure out how to use his body to get more separation. Bishop looked pretty good and should start next to Rapp. Carter and Solomon need to become assets on the D line. Hardy needs to get off the practice squad and contribute at CB.

No question about it being harder. Beane and his scouts need to earn their $$. And I left out what I ask for every year in the draft - a big tub of goo. Need a 1T to anchor the middle of the line.

Kurt Warner breaks down the 4th down. Allen error?

I’ll say it again: sometimes it’s not you doing something wrong, it’s the other guy doing something right. And that was a brilliant defensive call -
I am not one to rue the Worthy thing. At the time we had Shakir and Samuel, and wanted a bigger possession type target. On offense we need to get another WR and keep Cook and Johnson. Defense I see a splash for a FA rusher, and we need to add to the DBs. Need a minimum of two good CBs.

Kurt Warner breaks down the 4th down. Allen error?

Don’t really care if you believe it or not. Both Josh and Torrence said they expected the pressure from the left and adjusted protection to account for it. Then Spags made a brilliant call to bring two guys on the blitz from the opposite side. Shakir would have been the hot read but that didn’t become possible based on how the play evolved. Josh made an incredible play to get the ball out as far as he did, and Kincaid has to catch that ball. -
Kurt Warner breaks down the 4th down. Allen error?

Torrence talked about it today. Based on film study they expected pressure coming from the left and protection was moved to the left. And Spagnolo fooled them and brought pressure from the right. Sometimes it is not what you did wrong but what the other guy did right. -

If Allen asks for a new staff he should get it.
oldmanfan replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Brady is OK, but if a change were made Peterson would be a good choice. I saw McD and Babich change from the historical zone concept this year; lot more man. I think we need some more athleticism on the back end and more pass rush. I could see Mack being here nrext year, or if I’m Beane I find out what it takes to get Garrett or Parsons. I think the hardest thing in sports is figuring out who will or will not be a great head guy in whatever sport you want to name. More times than not you elevate a really good coordinator, but what is needed for a good coordinator doesn’t necessarily match that needed to be a great head coach. -
Enough about Torrence. As has now been said numerous times the protection was shifted to the left. So Torrence is looking for guys coming from that side. Then at the snap 2 DBs take off downhill from his right. The video shows he sees it but too late to get back to pick the guy up. It was a brilliant call by Spagnolo.

The Chiefs win because in these close games guys always do their jobs and they do not make mistakes. That may or may not be coaching -I think it’s a big part of it - but that’s what wins these close games.

Still cracks me up that we gave Mahomes to the Chiefs
oldmanfan replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
Love Josh as we all do. To me he is better physically at playing QB than Mahomes. But Mahomes is better at reading defenses and pre-snap adjustments. Mahomes is right there with Brady on that. Put it this way: on our last 4th down play Josh said he should have adjusted protection. I’d bet Mahomes reads that and checks to a successful play . -

We’ll be right in the thick of it again next year. Got to keep banging on the door till it opens. -
Von Millers name was not mention ONE TIME last night!
oldmanfan replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
People rag on Miller but he was playing great a couple years ago till he tore his ACL. But his time here now is done; we save around 8 million in cap space I think if we move on. -
I laugh at the Bills fans that say they are done

Lot of irrational posting today because of the high emotions. This sucks. I've been a fan since opening day 1960 and this sucks as much as the SB years to me. But you have to keep banging on the door till it opens. -

No I will not get out of here. Changing coaches is a crap shoot. -

Be prepared for regression then. Again, if McD has lost the locker room make a change. I get that. Other than Belicheat the only guy on your list that's won a SB was Payton and he won just one with a first ballot HOFer in Brees. The others are McDermott, have won a lot but not gotten a Lombardi yet. -
Joe Brady and Aaron Kromer had a rough night

The outlet was Shakir on the left side. Spags made a great blitz call there. -
