Let's be honest, Josh probably has 5 good seasons left

As if that is what they’re trying to do. -

What happens if Armageddon hits with 5 minutes left in the Super Bowl and we’re up by 30 points? If, if, if. The Bills will continue trying to improve the roster this off-season just like every team does. -

He has 10 at least. And the stuff about not being cerebral or not becoming cerebral is crap. -
He has the Bills mentality. He knows how much the fans are behind him here, what they did for his grandmother and such. He’ll be here long term. And as much as we all love Josh, and we all do, it is a fact that in the last two playoff games he had the ball in his hands with a chance to win and didn’t. Not all his fault of course but the stuff about it just being coaching or defense or anything but Josh is old. It is on the organization as a whole including Josh and he’s the first one to say that.

We all of course realize that in the history of recorded sports there has never been one example of a guy improving from his rookie year

If you don’t want to sound like a Debbie Downer, then don’t sound like a Debbie Downer. -
The Bills did not get lucky with Josh. They spent a lot of time looking at the QBs in that draft, and when they all went out to take Josh to dinner they realized he’d be the perfect guy for the Bills. Beane moved into position in the draft to get him, and there you go. It gets really tiring to see the front office criticized when a pick doesn’t work but then give no credit when they land a superstar.

Free Agents we like for the 2025 Bills?

Wouldn’t surprise me if Mack comes back to his college town -

So we are just supposed to ignore injuries now? Sure. -

I’m thinking they go after a high profile WR or DE in free agency or trade. And I am always in favor of drafting a big tub of goo to anchor the D line. Looks like there’s a ton of those in the draft this year. -

Everyone knows Samuel was hurt most of the year, don’t they? -
Would You Consider Getting Tre if Cut By the Ravens ?
oldmanfan replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall
Only if he can convert to safety. Tre was a warrior for us but the two injuries plus age don’t add up to CB anymore. -
The replacement is easy: Williams. The decision to do so: not so easy. It could make the team worse if Milano gets back to warrior All Pro status. It could also have cap implications that limit the ability to get other FAs. OTOH if you included him in a trade for someone like Garrett (let’s say Milano and Miller and a high round pick), it could balance out salaries, although I will defer to those much more expert that I on cap/salary stuff. When it comes to veterans and when to pull the trigger, I always remember what Bill Walsh said: you’re better off getting rid of a guy a year too early than a year too late. Given Milano’s age and injury history he might fit that. Love the guy, a great Bill, but the NFL is a harsh business sometimes.
-
I’d need to know what I’d be getting in return, but theoretically yes. Williams is there to replace him.
-
I think they’re going for a big name WR or DE in either trade or free agency.
-
True. That’s why the young folk should refrain from “all time” lists!
-
You’re all doing it again, talking about an All Time list and ignoring the 60’s and 70’s. How about gems like Dan Darraugh, Phil Dokes, Walt Patulski? Tommy O’Connell?

Every single team in the league can play the “we should have drafted this guy” game. How many teams wish they would have moved way up to get Josh? How many for Cook? Shakir? And so on. I agree Beane has not found as many stars in the upper rounds as I’d like. But you also have to let some guys play. So many keep saying Kincaid and Coleman are busts. Not true. Kincaid had a great rookie year and was hurt a lot of his second year. Coleman was showing good progress -remember him going up high to get that one TD in the end zone? That’s why they drafted him. But he got hurt too, and did not come back strong (and was called out by Beane on that). Beane’s picks on D have yielded some solid linemen in Oliver and Rousseau, even Epinesa has his moments. But these guys each need to step in up another notch. The only true bust I’ve seen is Elam.

How old were Elway and P Manning when they won their first? Not that we don’t need improvement in areas but the hysteria is- well- hysterical.
-
Shakir 821 yards. Hollins 280 yards and 5 TDs. Legitimate.
-
We won in '64 and '65. Quit with the false narrative.
-
In terms of physical talent top 5. But has to rank behind guys like Big g Ben that has won. And you have Otto Graham way way too low.

Well deserved!
