Gilmore has one playing trait that I never liked… after every great play, he immediately searches for the official and looks to see if a flag will be thrown. He still does that. It makes him look like he just committed a penalty. He should let the play stand on its own. That’s always rubbed me the wrong way.

Gunner's 2022 Mock Draft (v3 and FINAL - p.17!!)
schoolhouserock replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
The only gripe I have is that Breece Hall is from Iowa State, not Iowa. -
JD Mckissic to Bills 2 year, 7 million

That’s a lot of negative numbers. -
Levi Wallace gone to the Steelers on 2-year deal
schoolhouserock replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
In the past, Beane seems to always fill out the roster enough such that he can go any direction in the draft. Losing Levi was always a possibility, but that $4M/year figure sure raises an eyebrow. There’s too much of a hole at CB. The Bills must have someone else in mind, right? Given Beane’s M.O., it’s hard to imagine them going into the draft without nabbing at least one FA CB that could start. -
This was one of those moves that HAD to happen given the Bills’ salary cap situation. Haack and Feliciano are also in the same predicament… contracts that show them the door. It would be tough to see Feliciano go out like this. 2021 was just not his year.

Mike Williams. The NFLs newest 20M aav man.
schoolhouserock replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall
I forgot about their situation with having a “cheap” QB. That definitely makes this more palatable. With the success rate of young WRs as high as ever, it seems like a tough pill to swallow to pay #2 so much. Young QB on a rookie deal, however. Consistency is worth it. -
No. Ask me again when Josh Allen announces his retirement.

Offensive stat that needs to be improved - YAC
schoolhouserock replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall
The bolded portion is a big factor. Josh and his receivers demonstrated elite boundary ability. How does a defense stop that? Those are great plays that kill YAC, but ultimately help extend drives and win games. -
Are you excited about the Superbowl matchup ?
schoolhouserock replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Can’t get excited after the Bills were bounced, but at least it’s something new. If it had been a repeat 49ers-Chiefs, it would have been less interesting. -
This mirrors my own thoughts. If Frazier moves on, I would hope for McD to look for someone that’s going to be more aggressive with blitzing the QB. It is an obvious missing piece given McD’s coaching heritage. Not sure such a change would help against KC since Mahomes does a great job against the blitz, but it would help against many other teams. It would probably be more fun to watch as well.

Honestly what do you do moving forward?
schoolhouserock replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
I get the push for drafting defense, but it seems like this team was an OL or two away from hosting this game in Buffalo. (Steelers week 1 and Jags game come to mind as instances where the O-line was beaten pretty badly.) If this game was in Buffalo, maybe the Bills catch a few more holding calls or any other minute edge… Ed Oliver was held damn well close to the entire game. -
Will do. We all need to grow, right? Or does it not work that way?
-
Or does it not work that way? Ridiculous… GREAT play calls with 13 seconds remaining. I mean… GREAT! Right? Seriously? Christ… get a clue…

I disagree. If I was pissed off about how my staff handled a situation like this… I would have done the same. We often talk about players developing and growing. These coaches need to do the same. Coaching lost this game, but that doesn’t mean we need new coaches.
-
Completely disagree on this take. It was obvious he knew coaching decisions cost the team. Was big of him to say, “it’s on me” multiple times instead of directly throwing anyone under the bus. Don’t know if I could have done the same.
-
I “liked” this. I think the Bills coaches do a great job. However, the coaches were clearly the reason for the L tonight. What I keep asking is, “can these coaches grow from this?” I don’t know. I have hope.

This WAS a super bowl year. Everything came up Buffalo and the coaching staff blew it.
-
The coaches really did let their players down. That last 13 seconds of regulation was fatally bad by this staff. The error is shockingly clear. That’s what makes this so dang hard to comprehend.
-
what should have happened: 1 - squib kick 2 - double hill and kelce 3 - win What actually happened: 1 - Gift Mahomes an extra 5 or so seconds 2 - play 0 or 1 coverage on hill and kelce 3 - lose The decision making by the coaches in that 13 second span was really, really bad. The players did everything needed to win.
