Bills fans and why the love of Blue Collar teams?
teef replied to Jrb1979's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
it is a bit of a left over narrative. i think some people look at getting rid of guys like watkins and dareus as not liking the "star" type player, and only preferring guys who know their place. i don't think this is the case at all, and more had to do with money being payed or may be paid vs production. -

i'm going to piggy back of junior's response. if blue collar means guys who want to be leaders, work hard and leave the bull#### home...sure, they are looking for blue collar guys. all teams are looking for guys like that. can you have an entire squad with all blue collar guys? probably not, but i think this staff is willing to take chances. -

i don't think that's the case at all. i think when it comes to ab, some are wary of his attitude, age and cost...both money and draft picks. i'd be happy to have him here, but i certainly get why someone wouldn't be. the blue collar thing is over played. -
Seriously. I thought the guy was a bit of a joke on the football side of the board, but it foes far deeper than that. Whether or not anyone likes the looks of these kids, or what they stand for, what happened to them was wrong. They’re ***** kids, and people wanted their lives ruined because of who they were. It’s sad not matter what your stance is. It’s gotten that bad.

I hope he does well. I have no ill will affair the guy. He’s just not who he once was.

I’m more concerned about the moon colliding into the earth than I am about this happening.

agreed. i feel like there is a plan in place, and this staff isn't going to stray from the course. i certainly never felt as positive about guys like jauron and gailey, but i seem to have more hope for this crew. there has to be progress. if next year looks anything like this past year, the bills will have officially depressed me for the first time in a long time.

McBeane's Moves Now Are For 2020 Success
teef replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
it's still strange to me that some people's biggest concern is whether the rebuild, (or whatever you want to call it) will take 3 vs 4 years, as opposed to whether or not the rebuild will actually work. -
i feel i still see it a lot. our street not so much because of older families. on top of that, there's about 25 houses with 2-3 acre lots. the most kids we've ever had trick or treating...2, and they came together. the street is starting to turn over though. there's finally small kids, people are building pools, etc. i find our suburb is very active in the summer. we have our daughter in activities like soccer, gymnastics, etc, and those things are always packed. that being said, i really don't think it will be as active as when i was younger. i remember riding my bike into the local town (webster) to go to the arcade or buy baseball cards. we rode for miles along a fairly busy expressway, (there was a bike path). I just don't think i'd let my kids do that now.

in theory yes, but she just too much of a trash bag.

Based on what? I mean...if this team looks the exact same way they did this past season, I’ll agree with you. But if the bills win 9 games, miss the playoffs, and Allen looks much improved, I’ll be excited for the following season. I have no no idea why some people are fixated on year 3. I’d love for it to happen this year too, and it may, but this is a plan that should set the bills up for years to come. If it finally kicks in on year 4 as opposed to 3...fine. There’s already a sense that some can wait to call for this staff to be fired, even though they took us to the playoffs in year one, (I know, I know...it was a giant mistake and should never have happened).
-
i wasn't say that you found anything deceptive. not directed at you. it may take 3 years and it may take 4. if this team becomes a regular playoff fixture, does it really matter, or is it something to grip about> and the last comment is bizarre. i'm a casual fan who's here all year round. i enjoy the team, i'm from the area, but if the they don't make the playoffs again, guess what? it doesn't effect my life. i won't feel the need to come and cry on a message board, calling out positivity, calling posters homers, etc. well since you don't think it should take 4 years, then this staff sucks! is that what you want to hear? as i asked with billsvet, it this team is a regular in the playoffs after 4 years and not 3, does it really matter? i'm just more concerned that it may never happen at all.
-
oh there are definitely some parade poopers around here. i get that side of the coin, but it's not worth the apparent stress. and for what it's worth, i'm not saying billsvet is wrong. i'd be very surprised if the offense came together enough this upcoming year to put them in the playoffs. if allen improves, it can happen, but there's a lot of work to be done. i think part of the problem is that some people think the regime is selling something and being deceptive somehow. they got rid of guys who didn't fit their profile, and drafting young talent, and hopefully filling out the rest in fa. it's not shocking, and to be honest, there's a very certain group on here that no matter what was being done, they'd complain. i don't get the, "i'll just complain and tell everyone i'm right until this team is in the superbowl".
-
ah! the old martyr defense. listen champ, no one is telling you not to express your opinion. most can just pick up on constant negativity and don't necessarily understand the approach. not to say that it's not ok. if you think people having fun and being optimistic makes them "homers", that's on you. some of us don't have to protect our emotions if things don't work out on a football field. we should all be pretty used to it by now. you know what word we haven't heard in a while? shill. i miss that.
-
it's just who some people are. once someone uses terms like, "homer" and "kool aid", i mentally check out. the team has a plan that may or may not work, so just enjoy the ride. if the bills and especially allen show improvement next year, and still don't make the playoffs...i won't be crushed, nor will the pegulas be. it's not ideal, but it certainly may happen. we just need to see continued progress. we have no control over what happens. some are just too sensitive to have any fun with it.

And it’s always someone who looks like they haven’t showered in a week.

With expectations higher, is anyone else calm?

Agreed. If Allen takes a big step, the entire team takes a big step. -

i always enjoyed the scene where tobias beecher took a deuce on the face of the leader of the white supremists. there was never a shortage of something shocking on that show. this is extremely true. the very fact it's a woman is a win.
