  1. he doesn't understand. two different types of beer for two different types of occasions.
  2. you'll get to with the new joaquin phoenix one coming out.
  3. i don't mind yuengling, but i've had more than enough of it in my lifetime. love hefeweizen beer though. the ommegang brewery in cooperstown makes a great one. thank you.
  4. so you're having trouble understanding that some people have different tastes than you? again, and i don't know why this is so hard, it's not an older generation or american thing...at all. i don't drink lite beer for the sake of drinking more of them. if i go over a couple of beers, the craft beers make me feel gross quickly. that may not happen to most, but that's why i drink it. also as i mentioned, i'll often times start with a good beer or two, and move onto lite after that. i...i don't know how to go any further with this. we get it. you're too good for lite beer.
  5. so if you were at a party, and the only beer was lite, you wouldn't drink it? people are acting like it taste like acid. it's just a lighter, more watered down beer. the taste isn't bad...it's just super mild. now i'm just picturing a bunch of sweaty guys sitting around drinking stouts on a 90 degree day.
  6. it might confuse him. he's since gone from lite beer being a wny thing, to maybe it's an american thing, to now it's age group thing, (in another thread on this very topic). it's like he just can't imagine some people are willing to drink lite beer. guess what? it happens!
  7. i'm jumping between the two threads, so sorry if i'm repeating myself. it's not an american thing at all. you just see what's going on around you immediately, and are assuming that's how it is for everyone. first you think it's a wny thing, now you're assuming it's an american thing, sprinkled in with an age limitation. how about the idea that people like different beer for different occasions?
  8. i think you need to get out more bud. light beer is everywhere. there may not be the saturation of it in other countries like it is here, but it's not like it's limited to a region. all of this is strange. are you going out of your way to let us know that you refuse to drink light beer? cool. how many high end beers do you drink during a game day on average would you say?
  9. because it's not lite beer. i've been to the ellicottville brewery a number of times. my wife loves the town, so we stay there once a year typically. there beer is good, but it's like any other craft beer on the market. i just don't know why you're comparing the two. this shouldn't be this hard.
  10. you've never tasted a lite beer? ever? some if it is absolutely disgusting. i was given vodka from a local distillery. it wasn't cheap, and was probably the most disgusting booze to ever cross my lips. i had to choke that drink back and lie about how much i loved the gift.
  11. little genny story for everyone. a few years ago, our friend had a party with a lot of cheap, light beer around. we decided to do a taste test. i don't remember all the beers, but i know there was a mix of bud light, genny, coor and i'm assuming blue. the winner on multiple occasions...genny. people hear the name genny and want to be disgusted with it. it's like any other light beer.
  12. some taste better than others, but they do go down nicely when it's hot out.
  13. i don't think they're sugar or carb free, but i assume the content is low. just looked it up...100 calories, 2 g carbs, 1 gram sugar, 5% abv
  14. that's exactly what i do. i start with a good one or two for the taste, then go right for the light stuff. i feel like i've been run over by a truck if i drink too many ipas. i like them, but just a couple at a time. i can actually drink vodka and feel far better the next day than ipas/heavier beers. if you look in my fridge right now, i have a mix of sam adam summer brews, coors light, and those truly seltzer waters.
  15. one would think. i also don't understand why the op thinks the people in wny only drink light beer, specifically blue or genny. people all over this country drink light beer, and people from wny drink craft beer. it's completely a preference as to what someone wants. i do both, but it depends on the situation. how in the world is this a thing?
  16. i have no idea why this is hard to understand.
  17. i had no idea that is a thread on this side. it's ***** stupid. for some reason the op doesn't realize that local beer tend to be more popular in the area that they're made.
  18. well, you'll find blue at a sabres game because it's a considered a "local" beer. also why you may not find it at other stadiums. i'm not sure if i've ever seen genny at the stadium. you're more likely to find it in rochester based establishments because...wait for it...it's the local beer! make sense? i enjoy a good beer too. that's the point. just if i'm going to be drinking for a period of time, i prefer lighter beer. i'm not drinking lighter beer so it goes "down in 10 minutes" and be hammered before the game. what do you do? sip slowly on a "good beer" until it turns warm? we get it. you don't want to drink light beer. don't do it. i just don't know why you think preferring to drink light beer is a wny thing. when i lived in boston, i'd watch those psychos drink 30 packs of natural light all day. extended drinking is a lot of the time done with light beer. maybe you're palate is just too refined for that.
  19. i'm all about the beer drinking too hooks, but i have no idea why some people are so specific in regards to what's ok and not ok. not to mention he excludes it to the specific region of wny. i have a feeling people all over the country drink light beer. i especially don't get the hang up with genny cream ale. i guarantee i could stop at 20 tailgates, and i'd be shocked if a single one had cream ale. i honestly think i'm more likely to find cocaine at various tailgates than cream ale.
  20. does your husband bring that to you?
  21. absolutely. i'm the same way. if it's extended drinking, i want something light. some people may not have to go that route, but as i'm getting older, i lose too much time after going out like that, so the light beer helps to take the edge off. if i'm at home having dinner outside, i'll have a couple of good beers. it's nice to have the option. salty like genny cream ale?
  22. i don't think this is a wny thing at all. i'll drink light beer and i'll drink "good" beers. if i'm up and out all drinking at a game all day, i'm drinking light beer. if i was to end up drinking ipas over the course of hours, i'll end up feeling disgusting. concerning blue and genny...well, that happens to be the local beers so it's not much of a shocker there. on top of that, you mention genny cream ale. i don't think i've ever seen a person drink a cream ale at a game ever. i can't even remember the last time i was at a function and saw it.
