Not surprised. He knows Daboll’s system very well and everyone always calls him another coach in the room. Why not sign him to help Daniel Jones learn the system? I expect Daboll to come after more Bills players.

Curious to see if Josh McCown ends up on his staff. My guess is yes.

This would be such a horrible look for the NFL, especially with the Brian Flores stuff going on. It would emphasize the claim that white coaches are given opportunities that minority coaches aren’t. I don’t see how the Texans could even sell McCown as qualified for the job at all, let alone more qualified than other available candidates. Almost 40% of NFL assistant coaches are minorities, yet every year the NFL seems to find some new, totally inexperienced white candidate to promote over all of the (much more qualified) minority candidates.

I also think they are on the right path. I won’t go as far as to say they’re the Sabres McDermott and Beane. But I do like Granato a lot. He seems like the right coach. He knows hockey, seems like a very good teacher and our young players actually seem to be developing. I hope both him and Kevyn Adams get time to turn this around. and this is coming from someone who was furious about the Adams hire at the time. I’ve been extremely skeptical of him. But I like what he’s done and is doing. I like that he held his ground on the Eichel trade. I like that he’s creating a top notch analytics department. Some of his draft picks are looking pretty good, as are the players he acquired in trade. Im just hoping the Pegulas don’t hit the panic button again. That Andrew Peters rumor about big changes has me uneasy. I’m hoping it’s something unrelated to people being fired. They need to stick to a damn plan for once. Like you said, there’s no quick fix for this team.

Yeah for sure. We already struggle against Tennessee with Tannehill. There’s already enough top QBs in the damn AFC. It would not be fun having to go through Mahomes + Rodgers in the playoffs. (+ Burrow, Herbert, etc). The only issue would be cap space. Not sure what the dead cap for Tannehill would be like. Probably less if they traded him. I probably should have started a new thread to discuss this instead of bumping this old Trubisky thread. It’s a totally different topic than trubisky to Tennessee (which I don’t see as realistic).

But I guess this is allowed since they communicated via headset. What a **** show the Texans are.

Whoa. The dolphins might be ****** if there’s witnesses to the $100k offer. Id have to imagine they lose at least one 1st round pick, if not more. Same for the Browns if Hue Jackson’s accusations are true (and he also claims to have proof). They should actually be punished even harsher because their tank actually worked. They got two 1st overall picks, and one of them could be a super star (Myles Garrett).

On a similar subject, Shea Tierney is leaving to be the NYG Qb coach. Not surprised since Joe Brady is being named our QB coach. Plus Tierney was one of the only asst. coaches Daboll actually hired himself. Ryan Wendell was another and I think there was possibly 1 more low level assistant too (at most). Otherwise McDermott assembled the entire offensive staff.

The text says it’s from January 11th and that divisional game wasn’t until the 23rd so, if this is true, it has to be for another reason.

If true (and I’m not sure it is), I wonder what he was unhappy about. I wonder if it had anything to do with the run game.

It sure could, if he has proof. I would think Miami would potentially lose at least one 1st round pick and who knows how big of a fine (not that it would really matter to a billionaire like Ross). It'll be interesting to see what he has to back up his claims. Not a good look for Miami so far. But we’ll see what happens.

I mean, you kind of have to give the guy credit. As others have said, it very well could be NFL career suicide. But obviously he’s taking a stand for something he strongly believes in and must feel the sacrifice is worth it. I have to respect that.
