  1. I’d check to see what she tweeted, but… 😂
  2. I’d be more worried about him becoming a minority owner of the dolphins than playing for them. I like the incompetence of their current ownership group 😂
  3. interesting read. Thanks for sharing. I can understand why he wanted to go back to school for another season and still feels he has something to prove in the NCAA. He missed his whole freshman year to injury. Then came back and played amazing but was snubbed for awards he should’ve probably won (if he didn’t miss time for the Olympics). Then the season ended on a fluky goal he let in. I’m not going to worry about him not signing. If he doesn’t sign after next season then we have issues.
  4. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/dp-airgometer-exercise-bike-non-131448141 I bought myself one of these exercise bikes ⬆️ . There are usually lots of them for sale used in your local classifieds. I liked that it was cheap and that it also worked out your upper body at the same time. Plus the fan wheel helps keep you cooler. then I also bought this mini stair stepper: https://www.amazon.com/Fitness-Stepper-Exercise-Equipment-Resistance/dp/B09NJ4VFGV i actually use the stair stepper more than anything else. I work from home as well and try to use it at least 3-5 times a day, just for short periods of time. Like, I’ll take a short break every hour or two and use the stepper for 5 mins. Or sometimes later at night when I’m watching TV I’ll make myself get up during commercials to use the stepper until the show comes back on. I also bought one of the old original Total Gyms. I got it cheap. I really enjoy the total gym because there’s so many different exercises you can do on it. I may eventually get myself a cheap rowing machine too, since it’s a quick way to get in an upper+lower body workout. So all in, I spent maybe a couple hundred (if that) and I’m plenty happy with the equipment I have. If I were you I’d start with cheaper stuff or just do workouts without exercise equipment. Set small goals. Too often we think buying exercise equipment will make us exercise, but it won’t. It may motivate you to use it for a short time but you have to find your own motivation to get fit/healthy. When I first started working out again I downloaded this free app called “7 minute workout: fitness app”. I’d highly recommend checking it out. It’s a really easy way to get started. There are tons of different 7 min routines, or you can design your own from the list of exercises. Then they have videos that run on timers, so it walks you through each exercise (usually roughly 15-30 seconds each). here’s the link to the iOS version of the app: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/7-minute-workout-fitness-app/id806995720
  5. So true. You can exercise for hours a day then eat all the calories you burned with a couple handfuls of crappy food, or a couple glasses of fatty/sugary drinks. It takes a LOT of exercise to burn off the excess calories you eat. I’ve been exercising on and off for a few years now but changing my eating habits made the biggest difference in my weight loss, by far. I lost a lot more weight by changing eating habits than anything else. Just simply Eliminating snacks between meals made a big difference. I actually lost more weight over the winter by eliminating snacks (with much less activity) than I did over the summer where I was taking 10+ mile bike rides at least 3x a week but still eating snacks between meals and at night. exercise is still super important though, especially if you live a somewhat sedentary lifestyle. They say that’s one of the worst things for your health, next to smoking and obesity. Virgil - one easy thing I’d recommend (besides cutting out snacks between meals) is switching to water as your main drink. I buy bottles of fresh (100% natural) lemon juice and do a few squeezes into my water for flavor. It’s pretty much all I drink now (plain water or lemon water). I look at it this way - I would much rather eat my calories than drink them.
  6. Every team in our division is trying to emulate the Diggs trade, huh? 😂
  7. Thanks for the suggestion! I actually have Verizon wireless now, but not unlimited. We have a family plan with a 2gb data limit. I’ll have to see what the difference in monthly price would be between the different options. I have Disney + already ($6.99/mo). I also have the basic Hulu right now for 99 cents/month for a year (maybe 6-8 months left) but I don’t watch it much. I wish they had Fios in my area.
  8. Yes I do. I’d enjoy getting the bandits games, especially with how good they’ve been. But I don’t watch much college sports. Mostly just NFL and NHL. Some AHL/college hockey. Bandits game on the rare occasion one is on TV. I yeah it’s not as appealing without all the games on MSG. I’d only get the 8 Sabres games on ESPN+. I was thinking it could be a nice MSG alternative if I eventually ditch my cable.
  9. So basically all of the Sabres games they show on MSG I could get with ESPN + then? if so that’s not a bad deal.
  10. Wow, what a play by Dahlin (on the Sabres 3rd goal) to keep the puck in at the blueline then find Olofsson with that pass! Game was on ESPN + so I didn’t watch it. Next game is on ESPN + too. Aggravating that I need to spend another $6.99/mo just to be able to watch all of the same Sabres games I was always able to watch before this. I feel like I already pay for all the games with my cable package. To anyone with ESPN + : do they show all of the Sabres games? Or only a handful? if they showed them all it would be a nice alternative to cable.
  11. http://www.buffalohockeybeat.com/sabres-prospect-devon-levi-wants-to-feel-that-pressure-at-northeastern/ Adams also mentioned Ryan Johnson and Portillo: Not sure I agree with Adams on this. There is big potential downside - Both could turn UFA after next season and Buffalo could lose them for nothing. Johnson was a 1st round pick and would be going into his senior season. But I guess Kevyn Adams doesn’t really gain anything by telling the press he’s not ok with either guy going back to school. It could hurt any trade leverage with other teams. He also may not have the same “Buffalo fan syndrome” fears of players spurning Buffalo that some of us fans do. It’ll be interesting to see what both players decide. It seems to me like Buffalo wants both to turn pro this year. Adams can try to sell it any way he wants, but there’s no way he wants Portillo going back to school for another year, then having both him and Levi sign next offseason. He’s already said that’s not ideal.
  12. I mean, if Luukkonen plays well enough in Buffalo to hold down a starting role, and Portillo plays so well in Rochester that he earns a chance to compete for the backup role in Buffalo, that would at least open a spot for Levi in Rochester. It might make things more complicated in the future though. But I don’t really see Portillo being ready for Buffalo after 1 season in Rochester. Nor do I see Levi being ready to go right from college to the NHL (in a backup role). So I think most likely you just Let Portillo and Levi battle for the starting role in Rochester and whoever loses can be the back up or go to Cincinnati (ECHL) to start.
  13. This thread just took a sharp Q (anon) turn… 😂
  14. Now they need to make sure they get Portillo signed. Its actually more important they get him signed this offseason than Levi anyway. Portillo can choose to turn UFA after next season (if he leaves college). It would actually be for the best if they can get Portillo signed this year and Levi next year. Signing both this offseason would have made it difficult to get both playing time in Rochester. One maybe would’ve had to go to the ECHL. It could still be complicated next year too. But that would be a good problem to have.
  15. Well that sucks. If I were Adams, I’d be trying my best to find out if actually he’s willing to sign here at all. If not, I think they obviously need to trade him sooner rather than later. I still want to see the Sabres try to sign him next offseason if he’s interested in signing here though. They’d still have all of next season to trade him. I hate this stupid college free agent rule. IMO if they choose not to sign with the team that holds their rights, they should have to re-enter the draft. They shouldn’t get to turn UFA. They haven’t earned that right IMO. NHL players have to put in 7 seasons before they get UFA rights.
  16. Yeah he was great in that interview. I could definitely see a career as a Tv analyst in his future if he chooses to pursue it.
  17. Aw man, what a terrible time for a penalty. 2:58 left, down by a goal. Bummer. Well, win or lose at least they made it an exciting game. edit - are you kidding. Another penalty against Buffalo. I think that pretty much seals it.

  19. 😂 Yeah I have a dry pantry and plenty of food in my house to last a month +. My pantry is actually too full. Mostly from me buying things I thought I needed but already had at home 😂
  20. No, I’m not a doomsday prepper. 😂 (anyone remember that show?) I see zero reason to stock up on food. When I need more food I just go to one of the many supermarkets with shelves full of food 🤷‍♂️
  21. I used to go all the time before the pandemic and always loved NYC. It’s such a unique place. There’s always so much to do. I have a couple cousins who live there. They are musicians and play multiple shows per week. So I’d usually hang out with them if I had time on my trips. It helps when you have locals to show you around. They were always taking me to see/do something cool.
  22. Man, what a game! And what a way to send RJ off into retirement! I was so happy for him. I’m also glad this new young generation of players got to see what the arena could be like if they start winning again. Hopefully it gives them a bit more motivation to continue turning this franchise around.
  23. Damn, that sucks. Not sure I’d say the athletic beats them, though. I had a billing issue with the athletic and could not for the life of me talk to a live person. The closest they have is a bot that answers all their emails. I could not find any way to talk to an actual person and eventually just gave up.
  24. It’s going to be so weird without RJ calling plays. He’s been doing the Sabres play-by-play my entire life. I remember always listening to games on the radio back before he took over the TV broadcasts in the mid-90’s. I was really hoping the Sabres could make the playoffs at least once more before he retired. But obviously that didn’t happen. I wonder if he would consider possibly coming out of retirement for at least one post-season game if the Sabres make it in the next couple/few years. That would be great!
