  1. Right. That was my point in the last post. It’s already going to cost more for tickets, parking, concessions, etc. to help fund the new stadium. And they’re already getting $850M from NYS and $200M from the NFL. I just feel the PSL’s are unnecessary. Im not mad about the new stadium or the taxpayer funds being used. Check all my posts in this thread. I’m thrilled the deal got done and the Bills are staying. I fully understood it would take NYS paying a large portion for it to happen. Especially with Buffalo being such a small market. We’re lucky to even have an NFL team. I’ve done nothing but defend the new stadium deal. I just don’t like the PSL’s. I think it’s a crappy thing to do to your most loyal fans. They’re already getting more public money than any previous NFL stadium. It just seems greedy to me.
  2. They still get their money from tickets, concessions, parking, etc. which are all already at a premium and will all likely be even higher at the new stadium. Plus the money they get from all sort of other revenue streams (profit sharing, TV, ads, naming rights, team merchandise, etc). I guess I see it more like the Gap charging you a large one time non-refundable fee just to be able to shop in their store, where everything is more expensive, and if you don’t keep shopping there you lose your right to shop there and have to pay the fee all over again. If you don’t continue to buy season tickets year after year you either have to sell your PSL or it’s forfeited back to the team.
  3. Personally, this pisses me off a lot more than the tax money being used (which I’m ok with since we get to keep the Bills) https://buffalonews.com/sports/bills/bills-to-sell-personal-seat-licenses-to-help-pay-for-private-portion-of-new-stadium/article_c16caec0-1be5-11ec-967c-1fdcafe359cf.html They are getting $850 million from NY state, $200 million from the NFL (that they don’t have to pay back as far as I understand) and yet they still plan to pay much of their share by charging their most loyal, die hard fans (season ticket holders) a minimum of $1000+ each (and likely much more depending on the seats) for the “privilege” to spend even more money to buy your season tickets. I know every new stadium uses PSL’s and you do get some perks with them, but I still think it’s BS. I think this sums it up ⬇️
  4. Very well said. It sure seems that once a city loses a team they become more desperate to win a new team back. Im sure glad we get to keep our team! Like you said, we’d never get another one. Maybe if we were lucky Toronto would get a team but it certainly wouldn’t be the same. I’m so glad Hochul knows the importance of the Bills to Buffalo and was brave enough to do what it took to keep them (especially with an election quickly approaching), even though I’m sure she knew she’d face backlash.
  5. Big overtime win for the Amerks tonight! They pretty much had to win that game to stay in playoff position.
  6. Yeah it was. I was just starting to think maybe he had grown up a bit when he was talking about how he deleted all his social media and isn’t paying attention to everything every critic says anymore. Then he kept talking… lol.
  7. very true, and if we ever lost the Bills we would likely never get another NFL team again. So glad the stadium deal got done.
  8. Great game. I was impressed with Power in his debut. He didn’t look like a rookie playing his first NHL game. That’s impressive, especially for a defenseman. What a play on that 2-on-1 to intercept that pass from Giordano to Matthews!
  9. I’m actually fine with media pundits still doubting Josh Allen. I think he uses it as motivation.
  10. I like this pairing. Power has a lot of offense to his game but he’s not as offensively minded as Dahlin and could help open more of Joker’s offensive game. I also really like the potential of the Samuelsson-Dahlin pairing. I think Samuelsson could be a great long term D partner for Dahlin. I’ve been wanting to see him with a good defensive defenseman for a while. Samuelsson has been very impressive in his short time with Buffalo. edit - pretty cool. The vibe around this team is so much different than previous years.
  11. Power is definitely stepping into a better situation than Dahlin did.
  12. Same here! I am just glad the deal got done. I’m not a fan of all the tax breaks/handouts billionaires get. But I also know it isn’t changing any time soon and I had no interest in seeing NY take some principled stand over it that could result in the Bills moving. They are far too important to WNY to take that risk (IMO). If NY wasn’t willing to pay, I guarantee some other city was. Very happy I don’t have to worry about it. The Bills are locked into WNY for a long time now and I couldn’t be happier about it! Can’t wait to see renderings too! It’s going to be so cool to have a modern NFL stadium.
  13. Yeah, not the best first game for Owen Power to see in person 😂
  14. Love watching this kid play.
  15. Definitely makes me wonder if that’s the case. I wouldn’t say it’s the only conclusion though. He’s actually only started 1 season in college. Plus Michigan does have another pretty great class of new recruits coming in. Hopefully Adams has some idea if what Portillo is truly thinking. If Adams has any doubts maybe he will use Portillo as a piece in a trade for a more established goaltender.
  16. Boo! I don’t get why he wouldn’t want to turn pro. The net in Rochester and Buffalo are wide open. This definitely makes me nervous he doesn’t intend to sign here. If I were Adams I’d be trying to find out. Either way, I think if gets a decent trade offer he has to at least consider trading him.
  17. I’m a picky eater myself so I know what you mean. I’m not real big on salads. Don’t like fish. I mainly only eat the standard vegetables (peas, green beans, carrots, corn, etc). But I just started with what I like. 1/2 of your plate should technically be the vegetable. Only a 1/4 should be meat and 1/4 carb is a good place to start (or no carbs. But that can be hard). You could also start by cutting out snacks in between meals (or at least one meal). It’s also helpful (for weight loss) not to eat after like 7pm or so each day. Snacking right before bed is the worst. It doesn’t get burned off. One thing that helped me eat a bit healthier - I bought one of those bullet blenders and started making my own smoothies. It’s a way for me to get some healthier options (fruits and veggies) into my diet. You can kind of mask the taste of the healthier stuff by adding in (fat free) yogurt and/or granola etc. There’s tons of smoothie recipes out there. I actually use the bullet blender to make myself meal replacement shakes too. A lot of days I’ll just do a smoothie for lunch. Check out that 7 minute workout app I linked too. It’s free. It’s a good way to start exercising. They have beginner routines, and it’s only 7 minutes long. Plus, you can set it to remind you daily to do your 7min routine. And it keeps track of your streaks, so it’s kind of motivating (or at least it was for me). It’d be a good start. Either that or start taking daily walks. Good luck Virgil!
  18. definitely worth watching for Sabre fans

  20. That was my thought as well.
  21. Well, all 3 of our college prospects lost last night in the Frozen Four. So now Power/Portillo/Johnson watch is on. We know Power is going to sign. Hopefully Johnson and Portillo do too. Both can turn UFA after next season if they go back to college.
  22. If he plays in the NHL this year, it burns a year of his ELC. Same as when Mittelstadt was signed out of college. He only played 6 NHL games that season. It won’t count as a service year (toward UFA status) but it’ll burn a year off his ELC. The only way the Sabres don’t burn a year off his contract is if he signs an ATO with Rochester, which I don’t see happening.
