OL coach Bobby Johnson headed to NY, has signed contract
BillsFan4 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m guessing the Bills were ready to move on, otherwise I don’t think they’d allow a lateral move if they really wanted Bobby Johnson coaching their o line next season. -
Bills request to interview Tee Martin for OC Job
BillsFan4 replied to 17islongenough's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tee Martin actually has more experience in coaching than Dorsey does. He’s been coaching for 15 years and has been a QB coach, WR coach, offensive coordinator and asst. HC. Dorsey has been coaching about 1/2 as long and has been a QB coach with carolina and Buffalo. So if everyone feels he’s qualified, I don’t get why you’d laugh at Tee Martin being interviewed and/or write it off as just some Rooney rule thing. Exactly. -
Bills request to interview Tee Martin for OC Job
BillsFan4 replied to 17islongenough's topic in The Stadium Wall
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tee_Martin good read. I didn’t know anything about him but now I’m intrigued. Played QB. Was a backup for Peyton Manning in college. Then had success as a starter. Led his team to a national championship. Then played in the NFL, NFL Europe and CFL. He also has a long history as a college coach. He’s been a QB coach, WR coach, OC, asst. HC. He’s only been the ravens Wr coach since 2021. There’s also a Matt Barkley connection: https://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-football/2012/2/15/2801407/tee-martin-hired-usc-football-wide-receiver-coach -
Brian Daboll hired to be Head Coach of NY Giants
BillsFan4 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I watched the whole thing and had a much different impression. I liked a lot of what he had to say and I thought he handled all the questions well. -
Wow! I love it. I also love that KC fans are now feeling the same pain we are. I say we start donating to some KC charity in small denominations 😂
-
That’s the type of play we needed our defense to make in that KC game. One big play like that could’ve changed the game for Buffalo.

I call BS on at least some of this. The surgery thing definitely wasn’t his reason for requesting a trade. We know he requested a trade before the 2020 season because Eichel told us on another podcast that he did, so he was clearly done with the Sabres long before his injury. IMO He was done with Buffalo because of all the losing. Some of what he’s saying differs from what’s been previously reported too (some of which came directly from Eichel and/or his agents and some from Kevyn Adams). He says there was a consensus among all the doctors except buffalo’s but that’s not what was reported back when all of this was going on. It was reported that his initial 2nd opinion was the same as the Sabres doctors and that It took him seeing multiple doctors before he found one who recommended the ADR. Then by all reports he was pretty dead set on ADR and he and his agent went looking for more doctors who agreed with Dr. Prusmack so they could present it to the Sabres. Eichel says it was political but As far as I know Kevyn Adams can’t just override his medical staff and choose the type of surgery a player can have. I don’t think the NHL wants GMs choosing the types of surgeries their players have. I think the team’s medical staff decides. So if the Sabres doctors weren’t comfortable with ADR, then what can Adams do? and remember, the Sabres head doctor was one of the pioneers of ADR. buffalo’s doctors were also far from the only ones not willing to approve Eichel’s chosen surgery. There were GMs who said they would have loved to be in on an Eichel trade but it was a non-starter because their team doctor wouldn’t approve the surgery he wanted. I don’t know why the Sabres would conspire to prevent him from having the surgery. It would have been far easier for them to trade him if he could’ve had the surgery and shown he was healthy. Why would they tie their own hands like that? If they did then they’re idiots.

He couldn’t. He was being held. Should have been a flag.

I’m kind of indifferent. It really doesn’t matter. All I can really think about is how the bills should be hosting this game right now. If I had to pick I’d probably say the bengals. On one hand, if KC wins, it would be nice to say at least the Bills got beat by the best team, and if KC wins the Super bowl we can say the bills are neck & neck with the SB champs (and basically more/less the 2nd best team in the NFL). On the other hand, it would be nice to see the bengals win because then you’d feel like the bills getting to the super bowl wouldn’t have been such a lock after all. Plus I’m not really a KC fan. They’re quickly becoming the new Patriots for me. Plus I don’t want them going to 4 Super Bowls in a row but I kind of feel like it’s the Bills job next season/playoffs to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Good start by the chiefs defense. I don’t really know who I want to win. So I guess I’m rooting for the bengals. Kind of indifferent though. Football in general is just kind of painful at the moment.

I actually like the hire for LV. McDaniels offense should be a good fit for Carr. and hopefully it’ll hurt the Patriots.

Frazier getting second interview with Joe Schoen and NYG
BillsFan4 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I highly doubt he’s going anywhere. I think Schoen tried to get Frazier’s name out there with those 2 interviews but it doesn’t seem to have worked. -

Ken Dorsey - would he choose OC here or leave to be Daboll's OC?
BillsFan4 replied to Heavy Kevi's topic in The Stadium Wall
They changed the rules in 2020. NFL teams can no longer block assistant coaches from interviewing for coordinator positions. https://www.si.com/nfl/chargers/news/nfl-teams-block-assistants-coordinator-interviews-changes I guess it wouldn’t even matter if he didn’t call plays (which kind of sucks IMO). I don’t think the Bills would block him from leaving if he wanted to anyway. -
2018 QB Class - 4 years later (KTO Youtube video)
BillsFan4 replied to RobbRiddick's topic in The Stadium Wall
Mine too. Until that last clip played right at the end of the video. Then it felt like a punch to the gut. Why did they have to show the TD pass with 13 seconds left? 😢 😂 -
I was thinking the same thing.

Sounds like Craig Anderson might play tonight. Not sure who will be the backup or what they’ll do tomorrow. Maybe Anderson can play back to back (might have no choice).
-
Yeah, it wouldn’t surprise me if it was his agent putting this out. But it also wouldn’t surprise me if this guy is just throwing **** at the wall hoping it sticks. Looking at some of his tweets, my guess is the latter.
-
He walked that statement back like 30 mins later I am skeptical of this guy. I don’t see how he could possibly know that Buffalo is making a “concerted effort to retain Ken Dorsey”. How would he have found that out, and so quickly at that? Who is he that he has ties to know what buffalo’s front office is doing? I don’t doubt that Daboll wants Ken Dorsey. But we’ll see what happens. The Giants have to interview at least 1 minority candidate for their OC job before they can hire anyone anyways. So if they’re in negotiations with Dorsey they violated the Rooney rule
-
I hope Dorsey chooses to stay (assuming the Bills have actually offered him the OC job). But if he leaves I feel like there will be no shortage of top tier candidates who would be champing at the bit to work with Josh Allen and this offense.

I agree. I’d love the #1 pick this year. Shane Wright looks amazing. But I mean, they still need someone to play goal next game. Dell - suspended Tokarski - lingering effects of covid Houser - covid Anderson - upper body injury UPL - lower body injury (out long term) Subban - lower body injury (out long term) I guess they could just go with 6 skaters for the whole game. It would be interesting. No teams ever done it afaik. 😂
-
If Anderson or Tokarski aren’t ready to play I have no clue who plays goal for the Sabres next game. Tokarski’s sure been trying to come back from covid for quite a while now. Hope he’s ok, long term. I did see he was on the ice practicing so that’s a good sign. Anderson too. Hopefully one of them is ready for next game.

Owen Power and Devon Levi selected for Canada’s Olympic team. Elliotte Friedman also mentioned that he’d be surprised if Power didn’t join the Sabres after his college season is over.
