How Did Manziel Suddenly Become Relevant?
BillsFan4 replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You never know with how desperate NFL teams are to find their QB... but I'll be a bit surprised if any team takes a chance on Manziel yet. I believe I read that he only has all of 3 months sober. Those first few few months of sobriety can be like the "honeymoon phase" where being newly clean and clear headed feels great. Then that feeling wears off and the cravings are still there - that's when we find out if Manziel is for real about wanting to stay sober. We wont know until he hits some bumps in the road. I'm not sure the NFL is the best place for him right now anyway, for his long term sobriety. All the pressure, the easy access to pain meds from team doctors, and drugs in general that can come with a famous lifestyle (from team docs, fellow players, wanna-be's who like to hang with famous people etc etc)... -
Fair enough. I have a different opinion on him and Rosen. But I am intrigued by Rudolph. I's prefer to land one of the top 4 QBs but I'd give very strong consideration to him and Jackson if that's not possible. IMO I think Rosen is clearly a better QB prospect than Rudolph. But what I question is - is Rosen that much better than Rudolph + all the picks we could surround him with if we didn't trade up? I still don't understand why you'd say that you would question if you'd support Rosen as the Bills QB if it's not about politics? If its truly just about your concerns over his injuries and his on field performance I don't see why you'd have to question whether or not you'd support him/The Bills if they drafted him. But that's your business, not mine so... all I know is that hat I will support whatever QB the Bills draft and give him a fair chance, even if it's not the one I want.

Sabres & NHL 2017-18 - Entry Draft on June 22
BillsFan4 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Yay. Excited to see him play. Sucks that they burn a year off his entry level contract though (even though he won't play more than 9 game in Buffalo. Because of his age, there is some stupid rule that if he plays even 1 NHL game this year it burns a year off his ELC). But it sounds like he will will still be exempt from a 2020 expansion draft, so that's good. -
Ok, if that's why you don't like him, then why did you say that you would question whether you'd support him as the Bills QB? If it's only because you are worried about if he is fragile or a team leader? BTW Here's what his actual teammates had to say on that whole narrative (to save you time, its BS) - http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000918506/article/exucla-teammate-calls-josh-rosen-onceinamillennium-qb https://www.ndtscouting.com/ledyard-time-to-bury-josh-rosen-character-slander-once-and-for-all/ http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2018/03/josh_rosen_and_baker_mayfield.html I like how you only posted the weakness part of Josh Rosen's NFL draft profile. But you left out all the good stuff. Find me one QB in any draft that didn't have weaknesses in their draft profile. Go back and read what they've said about other top QBs in the NFL before they were drafted. I can do the same with Mason Rudolph... Heres his negatives from his scouting report- Sounds like a WB projected to go day 2, to me. WEAKNESSES Over-strides at times. Rarely drives lower body through the throw causing ball to sail and float. May not generate enough velocity to beat ball-hawking corners who strangle passing windows. Field-side outs will be a challenge. Needs throws to stay on schedule. Needs to throw with better timing and placement on comeback and outs. Defaults to off-platform throws when he has time to step and deliver. Ball placement and decision making can run askew when forced to scramble from pocket. Ball will come out wobbly at times. Inexperienced as rollout passer. Benefitted from ball-winning targets downfield. Wasn't asked to get through many progressions in the offense. Has had ball security issues as a starter. DRAFT PROJECTION Rounds 2-3 SOURCES TELL US "If you spoke with ten different scouts you would get at least four different opinions about him. I've just seen too many of those system quarterbacks struggle to make it in the league so I'm hesitant [/B]to buy in. He has gotten better this year." -- NFC team regional scout NFL COMPARISON Christian Ponder [/B]BOTTOM LINE Pocket quarterback with good size who has shown consistent improvement as a passer. Rudolph is more of a downfield, play-action passer than a quarterback who can win with precision and arm strength. He's a capable field reader who has the ability to operate with timing which will be important since his arm can be dull at times. Rudolph could be an early backup with the potential of becoming an average to below average starter in the league. Sounds to me like a system QB that was surrounded by some excellent talent, who doesn't have a great shot at being a true NFL franchise QB... There's a reason why Rudolph isn't being talked about among the top QBs in this draft class.

This thread is just more proof that the people who are adamantly against Rosen, are that way mainly because of his political views ans not because of his actual play on the field. If Beane let's politics decide what QB he drafts, I want him fired immediately. That is the dumbest reason ever to draft/not draft a QB. Exactly.

Sabres & NHL 2017-18 - Entry Draft on June 22
BillsFan4 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Yes!!! I am am really pumped we signed Borgen. I was really worried he was gone TBH (I know he had 1 more year of school, but if he went back I just felt that sealed the deal of him going UFA). Even more pumped that they didn't have to burn a year off his ELC to get it done! Good job Botts! I needed some positive Sabres news. We desperately needed to salvage as much of that 2015 draft as possible after giving up those two 1sts for Lehner and Kane (which we are likely to have almost nothing to show for by as soon as next season). That'll be a nice boost to Rochester's playoff hopes IMO. Now we just wait on Casey Mittelstadt news... (although I'm not really all that worried if he does go back to school this year -
You can actually get a car with a bad alternator to start and run with enough of a charge to the battery. But it will only run until the battery dies again (because it'll lose spark). I actually drove 12 miles home from work once in a car with a bad alternator. I was surprised I made it, but I did! lol The way I know to check an alternator is to use a voltmeter meter to check the battery when the car is running.

Yes, I watch every game (unfortunately). Although last night I finally did walk away after 2 periods. I can't seem to bring myself to not watch at all. I question why all the time, yet I still watch. No, they've been doing that for a few years now. The one one that drives me the most crazy, that they've also done for years now, is when they just chip it into the neutral zone over and over and allow the other team to start their attack again immediately. It's like their only goal is to defend and chip it into the neutral zone, and then defend again. -
Jets Have Highest Offer to Suh (w/o visit)
BillsFan4 replied to FrankoElTanko's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So they cut one overpaid headache on the d line in an effort to improve the culture in their building, and immediately try and sign another d lineman who has been rumored to be a big headache to deal with, and not a very good locker room presence? (telling fellow teammates they're not good enough to be on the field with him, and lots of other stuff like that). Makes perfect sense.... if you're the Jets I guess. lol Their plan isn't the most coherent. I can't even figure out what type of players they like. -
Again, bills HAVE called up to browns for first overall
BillsFan4 replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would be shocked if the Browns actually traded the #1 pick this year. I just dont see it. -

Fully agree with Kris Baker here. If they dont get Borgen signed and he goes back for his senior year, he is pretty much going to free agency IMO and I'm getting sick of losing guys to free agency before they ever play a game here. Very good defensive defenseman with an excellent shot at being an NHL regular, and a good one at that. -

Was breaking the drought worth it?
BillsFan4 replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely it was worth it! I was soooo sick of seeing that graphic on the screen about our 17yr playoff drought. The Bills has the longest playoff drought in ALL OF SPORTS. Getting rid of that stigma felt amazing. It wasnt Just about breaking the drought either. McDermott made huge strides in breaking a losing culture that has plagued the Bills for well over a decade. That is HUGE. Plus, it showed that we very well may finally have a top end coach. He broke the drought with a team less talented than other less successful Buffalo coaches have had. -
Bills Sign Newhouse and Bodine
BillsFan4 replied to NewEraBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's a little too soon to say yet. Buffalo still has 10 players who are unsigned free agents. Plus you have until week 10 to potentially cut any of those players the Bills signed before comp picks are calculated and they count. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/buffalo-bills/ Ivory doesn't count towards the comp pick formula btw. -

THE FALLACY OF DRAFT BUST HISTORY or TRADE UP DUH!
BillsFan4 replied to theRalph's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd be more interested in an analysis of the QBs taken with a top 5 pick, but without including the 1st overall picked QBs (since we are talking about drafting somewhere between 2-6). I bet the hit rate rate goes down significantly... Just to be clear I am all for trading up for a QB, even though it is definitrly a big gamble. -
Bengals and OL coach Paul Alexander parting ways
BillsFan4 replied to Sky Diver's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Paul Alexander left the Bengals almost 3 months ago (very beginning of January). If we had any interest, I'd imagine they'd have acted on it by now. -
Yeah any other outcome would be surprising at this point.

Was he at Baker Mayfield or Josh Rosen's pro day? I haven't seen any reports of him attending it, but I may have just missed it.

The thing is, the manufacturers (usually in china) of these synthetic chemicals are constantly changing the chemical formulations from batch to batch. What happens is the US will ban a chemical substance found in the synthetic drugs, so these manufacturers will tweak the chemical formulation just enough so it isn't considered illegal anymore and they can legally ship it to the USA. Then the US bans the new formulation, the manufacturer tweaks it again, the US bans it again and this process just continues to happen over and over and over... So I don't know if there is a way to make a drug test for these types of synthetic chemicals since they are constantly changing on a batch to batch basis.
-
The NFL needs to just quietly stop testing for MJ and let the players smoke. I'd MUCH rather them be able to use some MJ as opposed to all these crazy ass chemicals cocktails in the synthetic drugs that guys use to not fail a drug test. Its a hell of a lot safer than the damn pain pills they pump these guys full of (and mj can actually help curtail the need for pain pills). Just like recreational drinking is perfectly acceptable (in moderation), occasional mj use should be too. It's actually MUCH safer than recreational drinking anyway.

Looks like he turned down a long term deal from Cincy... https://www.cincyjungle.com/2018/3/20/17141958/russell-bodine-turned-down-long-term-contract-offer-bengals
