A win again duke would really help. They are right on the cusp like the last four or five years.. ending the regular season on a winning streak will be huge
-
My b, i don't know why I said Newton. I don't think he's played in a month Braswell hit some 3 and had had energy and he's a rs jr Boeheim always has a short bench and very rarely plays freshman minutes unless they are studs like Richmond
-
Yea he had a huge part in it. But I think the big fact that nobody's talking about is Alan Griffin being benched. He was playing horrible, selfish, and the ball wasn't moving when he was in there They take him and Girard out Put in a lineup of Richmond, boeheim, Woody Newton, guerrier, and dolezaj and the ball started to suddenly move and they had life Richmond is tremendous defensively but honestly this whole year they look like a different team when Griffin is on the bench.. sure he can score but they have no energy on offense when out there
-
Absolutely Notre Dame look confused and rattled. The look on Brey's face said it all and that point about not willing to go inside was kind of what I was getting at. Jims 2-3 zone will lull you into just passing around the perimeter until the shot clock expires And he just keeps pushing you beyond the arc further and further.. but you're absolutely right it started with boeheims vaunted press which absolutely sped them up too fast
-
Yeah I watched his presser. But he absolutely made halftime adjustments to the spacing in his zone defense And the press like he said provided energy in his full and half court defense. Look how far out Notre Dame's guards and forward were handling the ball out in the second half compared to the first.. they were a full 3 ft behind NBA 3-point line.. that's the adjustment And that's a trademark of Jim boeheims zone adjustment that he's always done.. ND was heaving up 30 footers because how far Jim stretched his zone defense out and they weren't willing to pound it inside
-
They play Jim boeheim's patented 2-3 zone. And Notre Dame has seen it dozens and dozens of times so they're well coached for it. They know how to beat it which is with good Crisp passing The thing with boeheim , is that he is the architect and master of this defense.. the little tweaks that most people can't see really change the game Yes playing his patented press sped the game up and help immensely.. but so did how far out boeheim stretched his zone if you rewatch the second half Notre Dame's three-point shooters were two or three feet behind NBA 3-point line.. that is super deep range and most college players can't hit that consistently In the first half they were all stepping into it at the college line.. the way he stretched Notre Dame behind the NBA line was huge

Patented 2nd half adjustments by boeheim and it helps that his son could hit it from half court

Bills prospect Syracuse CB Ifeatu Melifonwu

Yeah you like to see people's game speed match with their shorts There's a 1000 guys who run fast in shorts There's not a lot of guys who process things at a quick rate and play fast in the NFL.. he's definitely physically talented when the ball is in the air But it's the finer things at cornerback.. the nuances that separate the great from the rest of the pack.. The mental game needs work. If he could figure out route combinations he could be a very good zone corner with his ball skills -

Honestly as somebody who played D-Back at a high level, 40 time is overrated Sure it's always good to have speed But there's lots of guys who run 4.3s and can't understand route combinations or how to cover somebody.. Give me somebody who runs a 4.47 , is cerebral and understands route combinations.. and is versatile and physical Honestly I ran a 4.44 in my prime and my speed was a much bigger asset on special teams and running the ball, then it was at cb My awareness, play recognition, quickness and physicality were much more important -
Did you play football, at any level?
Buffalo716 replied to Ray Stonada's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I still run the wing T with my teams. Can't throw cuz I don't have a quarterback, but I do have six running backs 😂 -
Don't get me wrong he had some very nice holes to run through because UB does have a very cohesive line But it's also a very simple scheme and everybody knows what they're going to run. So he faced a lot of eight man boxes, where they were sending the kitchen sink and he had to fight through a lot of muck When everybody knows you're going to get the rock it's not easy He also ran for a thousand as a freshman without playing the first two or three games.. he just outworks everybody, which is definitely something you need to stick in the NFL
-
Listen I'm not saying the kid is Barry Sanders. And yeah he may have had a top notch o line for the Mac But he was the focal point of every team. He faced loaded boxes and teams brought the house regularly He really had to work through a lot of muck in his career And he was an all American who is bringing UB football more respect so that alone is enough.. he did everything and more ever asked Somebody will take him in the 4th .. with a specific scheme fit role

Devo is the kind of guy everybody wants on their team, but everybody hates playing against I don't think he was ever a bad person, he's just really intense on the court, and rubs some players the wrong way But most players leave boeheim a much better man than they came
-
I guarantee he goes before the 5th round. And his actual physical attributes are dime a dozen But the most important traits for a back... vision, elusiveness, toughness, and brake tackle ability, he has in spades The latest he will go is mid 4
-
🧐🧐😂
-
So you think he will end up a five star? He definitely looks super talented
-
He definitely looks like he has an edge to him hahaha but I loved devendorf hahaha Man so you think he's a tenn lock? Hasn't even received an offer from them yet He seems like the kind of guard that fits SU
-
Absolutely not. JP is as process as they come .. and marks is returning to Buffalo While he may not physically be marks, with the height weight speed combo... His vision, toughness between the tackles, ability to fight for extra yards, and ability to make the first defender Miss in a phone booth are all exquisite He may not have the home run speed of marks, but he does have great quickness, and he absolutely will out work everybody on the team And he's improved as a pass blocker every year He's been one of my favorite bulls and he deserves all the accolades and praise he's getting.. somebody's going to nab themselves a good football player and a better person
-
I mean I think it all depends on the deal short wants. Jefferson was coming on at the end of the season, and he actually is pretty disruptive At his peak short was a bigger stronger better player, and I wouldn't say he's done... But I'm not sure how much he has left His quickness was one of his best assets for a huge man , and he's lost a step
