Jim Johnson was terrific
McDermott is a Jim Johnson protege
I have jim in the second tier of defensive coordinators with guys like Wade Phillips
So squarely top 10.. probably even closer to the top five
Dick LeBeau is in as a player
In my eyes there are three defensive coordinators who would be worthy as Hall of famers though the NFL doesn't see it the same
Dick LeBeau, Bill Arnsparger and Buddy Ryan
No need to thank me guys I did my homework and crunched the numbers
Tom Brady increased his winning percentage after becoming a father!
This is 6D chess , congratulations to the family
Of course but Josh could still be the outlier
His dad's not an NFL player his uncle's not an NFL player his brother's not an NFL player
Josh broke the mold but Josh is special and his work ethic is considered world class.. better than other people with top notch work ethics
His kid might like hockey... I just think it's a little funny that people just go right to this is our draft pick in 2050 or whatever lol
Maybe he's a basketball player
I hope they are happy and have a beautiful family life that's what I think
There's no such thing as a Hall of Fame coordinator
The NFL and the Hall of Fame place a massive emphasis on if you can't get it done as a coordinator and a head coach you're not a HoF guy
So Josh McDaniels is a really good coordinator he's not anything close to a Hall of Fame Coach according to the history of the league
If you can't parlay you're great career as a coordinator to a great head coaching job you're not considered upper echelon
That's true but Western New York is also extremely beautiful
The City of Buffalo is just a small part of Western New York as you know.. also has amazing architecture... and there's plenty of beautiful places all over Western New York
It is mainly farmland and hills and rural beautifulness and orchards
Josh also spent years in Wyoming he's not a guy who's just looking for Bright lights of Los Angeles.. he's from firebaugh..
It's a lot closer to a farming town like Medina with the pace of life and the agriculture and beautiful small town feel even with weather differences
But I think that's far down Josh's list the weather... He certainly is a small town guy and WNY is full of small town communities
I'll be the first to say
I don't want to say Philip Rivers is going to will them to a Super bowl...
YET... He will be able to get them a win to get them into the playoffs and play better than most will realize from a 44-year-old man who hasn't played in like five years
As a student of the game I go back to listening to Tom Brady who I despise as a Bills fan but I respect
The mantra and the Michigan quarterback room for decades... Mental is to the physical as four is to one
Just break that down and think about it...
Even as the body breaks down as a quarterback your mental game will will you further than any physical ability if you have that mental ability... Bodies have deteriorated around great quarterbacks and they still get it done.. great do
Somebody like Cam Newton wants his body deteriorated yes he lost his game cuz it was all built on that... I believe Josh has more than just the physical side
And Philip Rivers has that in spades
As long as he's physically able to take a hit.. and they will protect him... And I'm sure defenders don't want to kill him either
He has the quick release and the mental processing to always find the check down... They're going to run Jonathan Taylor and he's going to hit check Downs all day and then rip a seam route
I'm excited to watch Philip
That's my biggest pet peeve
Nobody can give Christian Benford the credit for making a tremendous play
Sure bro didn't make the greatest decision and kind of shot put it out there... But That is a phenomenal play
The bills defense made plays back-to-back when they needed it they were not handed the game.. they took it
