Beane wants Allen’s contract done sooner than later.
MAJBobby replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let’s we if the recent wave of we love to play there and will take less money to do it. Will play for candy turning 8 teams down, etc etc extends to Allen’s Contract. Eyes on you Josh. You could always do the Brady thing and take less than Market giving more assets to build around you. -
Free Agency next year is going to be crazy
MAJBobby replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
salary Cap still needs to pay back 27.5M that is borrowed from future years to at least get it to the 182.5M this year. this years cap should be 155M. So they still have to pay that back either next year or year after. Except all the perceived “good ones” will get paid. They always do. Then the second wave and such could be even more reasonable contracts because of the supply of good players. -

Opts out. Then opts in. So NO camp. Training for draft. And the team was bad. Yeah cool. Still at 30 there isn’t many other players I would take and definitely not one of these RBs people drool over. Now have you watched him play. or one of those Stat Scouts Just read Gils top 100. Has him at 16. Wow more respect for him than I have -

Or as mentioned above you are getting A Hunter type and shall we see how many wanted to trade for him and still do? Question is do you Trust McD and his coaches to develop him???? I think they may have just earned that trust. -

So in 2017 as a Frosh had 2 sacks. 2019 as a SO had 5 Sacks. 2020 Opted out. there is production trending up for him I don’t really think it will be a long development at all and would play in Epenesa Roll this year rotational learning more than playing. -

Has anyone been able to find the 10 yard split. I have been looking and cannot find it. Would really be interested in that number. 20 games young at Football. Was a Basketball player. Considering only been playing football 2 years we expect a fully honed Football Player? And then Opted out this year. -

I think he will end up being there. But is so raw and that is why I think he goes lower than he should. Well at least that is what I am hoping but his 40 probably doesn’t help my hope 😭. Because where you slot him in this class is going to be based all of what you think his floor is compared to his high ceiling. And not a lot of production. It is truly a projection pick. -
reason: best pure Athlete in the Draft IMO. Size Speed off the charts. He will be at 30 because of the limited games (20). Former Basketball player but very raw in football. Can be perfect for a team that can bring him along slowly and I think the Bills can afford that. If he had more games he would not make it out of the top 10. they did it with QB and MLB. Now Beane goes the same model at the DE of the future. I have him graded as the 35th best player in the draft. will have to add maybe 10 pounds as a 4-3 DE but has the frame to do that. Rookie season a spot rusher while learning. Ceiling it super high and if developed properly I think by year 3 people will put him in the elite DE talk. i really just wish he didn’t run this 40 though as now may go earlier than I was hoping. Before this 40 he was going to be there at 30. Now I am sure there are teams thinking the same let’s take him at 22 and see what we can develop with that natural god given talent.
-
Ok then I stay with Motor who is on a rookie deal and hasn’t had the durability issues
-
that is the one position where I think there is Value at 30. There isn’t many of those positions in this draft. Breida of SF yes. Breida of MIA doesn’t make the roster. Either way Both Breidas come with major injury issues to really count on as lead back.
-
Speed back. Good out of backfield. Don’t have his skill set on our RB roster Gets hurt a lot. Havent seen the money yet. but which one do we get the Good Breida from San Fran or the Crap one from MIA?

I have 15-18 1st round graded players in my grades. So without even looking who is on the board (can’t until draft) I am looking at grades. so unless I can get to 15. I am not trading up. To be honest I am more in line with people that will never advocate for a Trade Up unless it is for a QB. so now looking at 30 (again this is all before draft even starts) the value with 30 is the 5th year option at this point. I am willing to collect picks for that 5th year option. now that we have started paying our homegrown talent and Josh will get paid pretty soon draft picks become vital they are your ticket to play the Draft Craps game. Yes it is informed gambling but still a gamble. Have to start thinking the more tickets you have to play the more chances at finding players that contribute early. just cause the ticket is in the later rounds it is still a ticket and can Hit a Milano, Davis, Williams etc etc.

Shelton only issue is his want too. Conditioning and staying in shape. As well as questions about how much he wants football. No illegal flags or anything like that. Marvin Wilson (3rd best DT in my rankings) - smallest of the three. Probably plays around 315. However violent hands. Better pass rush from the interior I have seen. Has played 5 Tech at times. Shows good athletic ability inside. I think he is more a 3 Tech than 1 Tech. Reminds me of a bit bigger Oliver. Works hard against the run needs to improve a bit there. Anchor is suspect. looking at them like this. Bars more is by far the best in this class by a lot and only one that has a 1-2 round grade by me. Best Pass Rushing DT - Wilson Most Complete - Slaton Best Run Stuffing - Shelton. IMO This is a Horrible DT class. And not that great of a DE class either -
This is an International Pathway Program player that likely will make the team. Sorry Wade fans he isn’t.

@RyanC883 A quick down and dirty from my notes Tedarrell Slaton (My 7th best DT) - he is a HUGE player, I know some places list in in the 360 range but I think that is likely closer to 340ish watching him. However being 6'5 allows him to carry the weight really well. What I do like is he plays with leverage still at his size, normally you would think a interior guy at this size would rise immediately coming out of his stance I do not see that with him. Powerfull at the POA he is a true 1 Tech and can hold and split Double Teams. Has a really good Bull Rush from the interior and a sneaky compact swim move as well, does not get extended to allow in body with this swim, harder to do with a long guy. Struggles maintaining balance at times, I seen him on the ground more than I would like with someone at his size and power, and does have consistency issues within the run game. But when he is on he is really good. Needs an NFL work ethic and development, particularly balance. I like him more than Shelvin because unlike Shelvin can offer some within the pass rush game. I think with development he would be able to become a 1 TECH that doesn't HAVE to come off the field in passing downs. Tyler Shelton (My 14th best DT)- Another big body, built differently being a shorter player. Powerful at the point of attack and an absolute stud against the run. However he will not go early like some of the initial buzz on him was, because he is only a 2 down player and then the red flags on him. He will offer nothing in terms of pass rush or even outside his little phone booth, very slow foot speed and little lateral movement ability. Has a decent bull rush but again wont really push the pocket. Can stack and beat double teams. Has major conditioning questions at one point reports he was up to 390 pounds at some point. Questions about his conditioning also go to questioning his desire to play football. Between the two if they were both say sitting there in the 4th round I would grade Slaton as the better player, because of more of an athlete, no major flags with conditioning, and already has a couple pass rush moves. -
Money is great. Just over 1M.
