I’d go all in on Cooper to wrap up WR. We need production right away, no growing pains. RT...either way will work, more likely to fill the need via FA though, I think. We aren’t drafting high and we need to make sure that position is solidified. DE...likely have to draft, unless you move Edmunds to the outside and use his rush skills more. That would allow you to get a run stuffer which you can do in the draft. RB...either or.

The title is a bit "inaccurate" but cool find. The previous oldest found was not too far away geographically. -

Computer plate umps allowed in new labor deal

It's nice to see you losing another argument to a jury of your peers. You and row33 seem pretty alone. Not being an intractable one, what about this compromise: Rather than having Angel or Cowboy Bob hang out behind the plate we could have them in state of the art studios using the latest technology to call balls and strikes. Would that work for you? -

Not common? Is at least an every year occurrence common? Swing at anything that's close. I'll tell that to my kid when he graduates from T-ball. -

Pardon me for broadening the argument. There is a defined strike zone in the game. Yet, it is up to the players to meet the expectations of each individual umpires likes and dislikes. It is OK for umpires to hold grudges against certain players, managers and/or teams. Yes, that's a beautiful game. -

says the guy that B&Ms over EVERY perceived missed call? You want to fix inequality? Put a chip in the damn football. There is nothing more imprecise than spotting the ball. Drives me out of my mind at least 4 times/game. Then require enough cameras to blanket the field. Those billionaires can afford it. Enough of this we don't have the angle crap. Spotting a punt that flies OOB? Laughable. Spotting the ball on a deep pass? Fergitaboutit. Use the ***** technology. To the OP, especially in baseball where it's proven, year after year that the umps carry grudges forever and they are not in any way held accountable. -
This one was on the defense folks
Cripple Creek replied to BillsBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's plenty of blame to go around. On offense it belongs on Allen's shoulders. On defense, not a good day, at all, by the LBs yesterday. Coverage misses, missed tackles, you name it. We need a defensive end, two if Lawson is gone. We need at least 1 LB and I'm still not opposed to moving Edmunds to the outside where you can better take advantage of his speed and rush ability. Don't know if Milano is tired, worn down, dinged up...whatever it is, not a good day for him, at all. On offense go all in on Amari Cooper. Move Ford to guard and get a RT. I'm unsold on Daboll. He is all about taking what the defense gives you. Yesterday, again, showed us that teams do, in fact, take what they want. Letting the defense dictate has kept this team from developing an identity. -

I'm sorry, despise? For reals? -
I have to admit that my confidence isn't 100. His footwork is "sloppy" and he had taken some maddening sacks. The poor footwork leads to inconsistency delivering the ball and the sacks sacrifice field position. By far accuracy is number 1 on my concernometer. I love the kid and everything that he represents, but he has to get better. I'm not sure that will happen. The accuracy issues are drive killers and you can't have those inconsistencies against the upper echelon teams. We have shown that we can play with anyone in the NFL, the next step (accuracy) is critical and the window is 2 years.

Could this fit into the Daboll has no future here thread?

No facemask call on Josh's 4th down run.
Cripple Creek replied to Peace Frog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Offense was much, much less than stellar. Blame belongs on Allen's shoulders for this one. Too many misses that either killed drives or kept points off the board. And he took multiple unnecessary sacks. And he was very inaccurate. He has a long way to go. -

You know what would work? An end around to Vapor (Foster) where he ends up throwing deep to Smoke (Brown) would work to perfection. NE knows that McDermott kept Foster on ice last week specifically for NE, but, they aren't expecting the ol' okey doke. They are expecting end arounds and they'll absolutely sell out to stop him. I guarantee you that Brown will be wide open. -
