Why wasn't Duke Williams active?
Cripple Creek replied to HailMary's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Read your first response to me and tell me who is being condescending. The extra RB I'm referring to is LeSean McCoy. Maybe you've heard of him? He was cut so that Yeldon could be retained. Williams does indeed possess traits otherwise missing in our WRs. You think McDermott can do no wrong. I get that, you're a fanboi. There, now I'm being condescending. -

Here is what I said: You no comprende potentially? Gore/Yeldon being our only RB options went a long way to costing us the NE game. Chew on that one for a while. -

Are you having difficulty counting the snaps for Dimarco and Smith? Williams possesses traits otherwise missing in our WRs. Not having him active (the point of this thread) has hurt the team. Meanwhile DiMarco and Lee continue to be active. What do they contribute? That better? -
Possible Bills coaching changes in 2020 [Mod edited]

Not at all what the person I quoted was suggesting. Of course there are head coaches who call offensive or defensive plays. The question is, are there teams where neither the HC or O/DC does not call the game. -

How many snaps did Lee Smith get? How many snaps did DiMarco get? McDermott's intractability with the roster has potentially cost us 2 games this year. -

While I agree that Daboll doesn't appear to have a feel for play calling is there any precedence for this? (an OC who isn't the play caller) -
I’m sure someone can. I was sitting right on the 10 when it happened, so bird’s eye view.

Wow, there are a lot of crappy QBs in the league, aren't there? I wish I knew what went into this game. Why did Allen stick in the pocket and take repeated hits? Did he not recognize the blitzes? Do we not have hot reads to give him quick options to unload the ball? Many more. Hopefully it's a learning experience for him.

just quoting my sensei Hate is a bad emotion that makes people do bad things. (that part was mine, much less prophetic) -

Monday Night Football 39 years ago - who remembers?

Was tending bar with the game on of course. -
Take a look at the punt of Bojo's that we fielded on the fly. Ball caught at the 8. Flag, personal foul. Ball at the 4 right? Nope, ball is placed at the 6. Nobody notices. Two yards, no big deal, right? The defense held and that would have given the punter less room to work with.

How about MVP Lamar Jackson today?
Cripple Creek replied to ToGoGo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He may indeed be destined for a much shorter career. Taking the hits that he and Allen did yesterday aren’t what you want to see if you’re looking towards long term QB play. -

My agenda? You are making blanket statements and I’m the one with an agenda? I saw a very poised QB who, for the sake of the league, I hope continues to develop. I also saw another QB, with less options, appear confused. I hope that he too, for the good of the Bills, continues to develop. -
Why not compare McCoy to Yeldon since some have trouble criticizing Gore? Bean/McDermott in whatever proportion works for you made a mistake when they cut McCoy and kept Yeldon. Earlier in the season when Yeldon was our #2 back because of injury there is zero doubt in my mind that having McCoy on the roster would have turned a loss into a win.

Why would I be concerned about someone I hadn't heard of 5 weeks ago? Allen v the Steelers defense is another story. He has to be able to outshine Hodges even though he couldn't Jackson this past Sunday.

Watching yesterday it looked to me like Allen was unprepared for the blitzes that Baltimore was sending his way. I guess he is at his ceiling too. -

So, he will not improve? What leads you to say this? Is it possible for Allen to improve?
