  1. Obviously my history is true. The list of guys who have done it over the past 20 years is limited to Drew Brees, Eli Manning and maybe Matt Stafford (hurt his 2nd season but played really well prior to injury). Otherwise most guys are what they are after two years as a starter. With that said, I think Josh Allen desperately needs an elite wide receiver who can stretch the field. That should be the biggest priority for the Bills this offseason. If he's still missing deep balls next year then we have a major problem on our hands. Agreed. Tennessee were terrible with Mariota as QB. Their kicker also missed three field goals and was cut the next day. With Tannehill they look like they could make a playoff run, if they can find a way into the post season.
  2. Why? Is what I said wrong? Is it common for quarterbacks to really improve their play after two years as a starter? Asking for a friend....
  3. They usually don't get a whole lot better after their second season as a starter. Historically speaking (going back 20 years), the biggest jump in a QBs play will come between their first and second season as a starter. There are a few outliers, but they are few and far between.
  4. All of this is true. More so with some positions than others. For example, the running back or middle linebacker who shows nothing for two years probably isn't going to be any good (little learning curve). Tight end has arguably the steepest learning curve of any position in the league. Knox problem isn't catching the ball, it's taking his eyes off the ball before it arrives. Have him catch 5,000 passes this offseason and he'll probably be a lot better next year. He has no problem getting open which is typically the hardest thing you can teach a receiver.
  5. I think you fail to understand how hard it is to find a good pass catching tight end.
  6. Sounds simple. How do we get a real tight end? Should we spend a first round pick on one, like teams have done in recent years on guys like Hockenson, OJ Howard or Hayden Hurst to get the same production out of them that we're getting out of Dawson Knox?
  7. Hot take coming through. I'll give him another year or two. He plays a position that arguably has the steepest learning curve in the league from college to the pro level. Most rookies at his position, like the 8th overall pick in the draft, contribute very little their first season.
  8. What are you suggesting? Should we cut him? Is that your assessment of Dawson Knox?
  9. It's reviewable if the defense might have had 12 guys. Makes absolutely no sense you can't cast the same oversight on the offense as they huddle.
  10. Rookie tight ends rarely produce anything. Knox is right behind TJ Hockenson statistically, and he was the 8th overall pick. Knox is going to be amazing in a year or two.
  11. Dawson Knox is a rookie tight end who is 23rd in the NFL in yards at his position. He's right behind TJ Hockenson who was the #8 overall pick in the draft this year. Do people not realize that it usually takes 2-3 years for tight ends to produce?
  12. Cheaters gonna cheat. The NFL will sweep this under the rug, again, but if this is true (why would it not be?), Bill Belicheck should be banned for life.
  13. The ball was supposed to go up the sideline and Allen threw the ball 15-20 yards off target straight up the field. He did the same thing a few weeks ago when he missed Isaiah McKenzie. It looked like the same route, and Allen threw to the wrong spot both times missing easy touchdowns.
  14. NFL refereeing is a complete joke. How they missed that is mind boggling.
  15. Obviously he completed one long pass and it won them the game. Why on earth would it not count?
  16. I'm going to go by each teams record at the end of the season. Like when you do a year in review thing, what's our signature win going to be this year? Are we going to have one, or will we have just beat up on a ton of below .500 teams?
  17. LOL It's always someone else's fault with Allen. Post the videos for the three first quarter deep balls. I can't wait to hear the excuses for why those throws landed nowhere near the receivers.
  18. Singletary wasn't even able to get two hands on the football.
  19. Jackson was very underwhelming. That was mostly because our defense is phenomenal though.
  20. Allen had three looks that should have been touchdowns in the first quarter yesterday and he missed all of them by 5 or more yards. We get "hung up" on the deep ball because at the NFL level they should be free touchdowns if your receiver is running free behind the coverage at full speed.
  21. You can't honestly think this is true. Right where they need to be would be in the bucket so the receiver can run after the catch. They shouldn't have to dive for the football just to get tackled if they can hang on. Now, please post the three deep passes from the 1st quarter. Be objective and post them all.
  22. I just rewatched it. The ball isn't at Brown's hands in this shot. In the next frame it looks like Peters knocks the ball away. He certainly celebrated like he got a hand on it. Both receivers had to dive to try and catch the ball at full stretch. This is supposed to show accuracy? Now post the throws to Brown, Foster and Knox in the first quarter....
  23. Take your own advice and cut the hyperbole. His mobility is good. His accuracy when he gets to drive the ball is good. His decision making has got better. His deep ball is one of the worst I've ever seen. The ball routinely lands no where near his target. People laughed at EJ Manuel for throwing the ball out of bounds in a practice into a tent. Allen had Robert Foster running free down the field for a touchdown and threw the ball out of bounds yesterday.
  24. His decision making and not putting the ball in harms way has got better. His accuracy on deep balls is still one of the worst in the NFL.
  25. Is it an overreaction to say Josh Allen's deep ball is absolutely horrendous?
