  1. They let Frank Gore try to throw it before our QB.
  2. We could tag him for a year and try to negotiate a long term deal. It's not like we're short on cap space. I disagree. The odds of signing a top pass rusher aren't good. I think we're on to something rolling so many fresh bodies out there against the same 5 linemen for 60 minutes. I'd love to find someone better, I just don't think that's likely. Plus Lawson is only 25 years old. He could easily be productive for another 5 years so I think it's a low risk proposition. I'd rather not rebuild any part of the #3 defense in the NFL. Keep as many people intact as possible and keep adding through the draft and free agency. We have $90 mil in cap space. Money isn't a problem. I think bringing back Lawson and Phillips are major things we need to get done this offseason. Our defense is elite and needs to be kept intact.
  3. Neither can I. I mean, he ran 4.72 at the combine. Guys with that type of speed typically don't make it in the NFL.
  4. White is a no brainer. We didn't pick up Shaq Lawson, and at this point I think we really need to bring him back next year.
  5. He first played for the Chiefs 23 years ago. Has there been anyone since?
  6. Whoops. For some reason I thought they were both here in 2015. Sammy still had a great season. 60 catches for over 1,000 yards in 13 games. Somehow we were 12th in offensive scoring.
  7. I agree, a veteran receiver probably wouldn't want to go there, but I think we'll all underestimate how much NFL players would want to go play with the reigning MVP in an offense that scores as many points as they do. The guys they'd attract would be the type of high character guys that you'd want your team to go after. High maintenance divas wouldn't want anything to do with it, but I don't think those are the type of guys who help you win games anyways.
  8. I think that was an EJ Manuel/Tyrod Taylor problem. With Kyle Orton under centre, Watkins was actually super productive under Greg Roman.
  9. As would I, but he'd be our #3 guy. In Baltimore he's the #1 WR. I expect the Bills to invest in the WR spot again this offseason, either with elite speed or elite size.
  10. Agreed. Brown and Snead do next to nothing for me. Past that they have absolutely nothing. They're loaded at tight end, but I think they could use a major upgrade at WR.
  11. Agreed. I'm just saying, imagine if they had a top 15 receiver on the outside who commanded safety attention. It would create more space in the box and take their run game to the next level.
  12. True. Roman made Kaepernick look decent. Jackson is an entirely different animal. What's nuts is that the Ravens receivers are really poor. Will be crazy to see what they can do once they add some real pass catchers on the outside who command additional attention.
  13. The one on the goal line last week I think he pulled it out, ran right and then sort of pitched it to the tight end when the defender committed to him. Every play there seems to be an option of some sort, if not two. It's a really fun offense to watch. Crazy that this was our OC a few years ago that so many people said was a liability.
  14. Last week I was shocked at how essentially every pass they attempted was withing 7-8 yards of the LOS. It's all RPOs with him pulling the ball out and throwing to a wide open guy 5 yards downfield and them falling forward for a first down. Earlier this year they had the splash plays, but now their offense is just a machine. They just churn out yardage play after play and dominate the TOP.
  15. Reminds me a lot of Matt Stafford with his playing ability, with less arm.
  16. Agreed. With that said they have a process. They rely on their data and Hodges ability to complete the occasional deep ball probably makes him look a lot better from an analytical sense. His YPA is amazing and his QB Rating is very good. It's a small sample size, but for guys who only look at numbers it's understandable why they'd think highly of Hodges and why they don't think much of Allen.
  17. This. The Ravens wouldn't have sent the house every play and played cover 0 if they thought we could pass vertically. They're playing Darnold in an entirely different way.
  18. I partly disagree. There's no reason Hodges can't get better (unlikely but he looks like a 10 year backup as his floor). Allen probably won't get worse, but who knows if he can correct his flaws.
  19. Crazy how different the Ravens game plan is against the Jets vs us last weekend.
  20. Has their been a CFL receiver from the last 10-15 years who has been productive in the NFL?
  21. I understand why PFF would be skeptical of Allen, but it's hard to believe anyone actually thinks Hodges is the better player.
  22. I married into a Steeler fan household. They act like we have no chance of beating them. They've won 7 of 8, and we're the Bills. Their perception of this team is that we're not even close to being on their level.
  23. I don't hate anyone. I just don't understand why people go to such extreme lengths to blame everyone but the QB for why we can't complete passes thrown more than 30 yards down field. The three misses in the first quarter were all awful throws from a clean pocket.
