Or the QB could just throw more accurate passes.
-
Wrong. Read the bold part. He's saying that you run vertical, and when the ball is in the air you round your route off to the football.
-
Again, how do you coach someone to run faster?
-
I don't think this makes much sense. The shortest route from point A (the QB) to point B (where the ball lands) is a straight line. Pushing farther up field in an attempt to round their route off isn't going to accomplish anything if they already can't get to the ball running in a straight line. If Allen was under throwing these passes, this would make sense, but there's nothing you can do to a route to make things work if the QB is consistently throwing the ball 5 yards too far. 100%. I'd guess Allen has missed 8-10 deep balls to guys running free behind the coverage this year. He missed three of them in the first quarter against the Ravens alone. Those 8-10 plays likely would have resulted in a bunch of touchdowns.

Dawson Knox and Robert Foster are both over 6 feet tall. Both were overthrown by 5 yards last Sunday on what should have been easy touchdowns.

The problem is Josh overthrows his targets most of the time. Our receivers can't get to his passes.

This is the game right? Win and in?

This one is especially important because Pittsburgh is our direct competition for a wildcard spot. -
I remember hearing players talk about how the Pats would audible into plays to defeat specific blitz packages after Spy Gate. That the Pats knew exactly what was coming. This looks and feels like a repeat, working the system to allow a film crew access to see the Pats next opponent play. If it was for a documentary you'd think they'd only be filming the Pats. The whole thing wreaks like you know what. The most ridiculous thing is Belichick saying in an interview that post 2007 they don't push the line as much as they did before, as if they were cheating in a bunch ways until they got caught, and then had to reestablish how they'd push the rules since.

How many were drafted last year? I'm saying that in a year or two, when Knox isn't a rookie, I think he'll be a really good player. People think we need to upgrade on Knox. Given how easily he's got open this year, I think that's nuts.

None of Kroft, Smith or Sweeney can get open. They're not worth having on the field as receivers because they're never open. Knox just needs to keep his eye on the ball. His issue is turning to run before the football arrives. That seems like something that can be corrected in the offseason with extensive practice.

I think this is a must win game to show post season intent and keep the division in play heading into New England. -
Our defense is amazing. We have depth at every position. If we can lock up key guys like Jordan Phillips and Shaq Lawson and add a few more pieces for next year, they should remain elite. On offense, I think the offensive line is very good, Singletary is going to be incredible next year, and our receivers are solid with Brown and Beasley under contract next year. I'd bring back Robert Foster, and I think we need to add multiple receivers to this team in the offseason (I'd use two draft picks on WRs). I also think Knox is going to be a borderline top 10-12 TE next year. He's been incredible value. If Allen can figure out his deep ball (one of the things I'm still skeptical of) and we can keep the coaching staff intact, the Bills should be an elite NFL team next year.
